The stickers are a good idea. Like the stars that we use for kids when they are good.

Personally, I am in a Facebook group that issues challenges and we have to post our counts every day, or at least pretty much every day.

Working on becoming Goku, from the series Dragon Ball Z (cosplay).

I use stickers, too. I originally used them as a quick way to visually check that my actions matched my good intentions. In other words, it is a reality check for: did I intend to go to the gym 3 days a week all this month, or in reality, did I only get there once or twice a week….

I use stickers on a calendar to record cardio, strength training, 10,000 steps and staying within calorie range. It sounds silly, but the stickers can motivate me to do more.

When I type the team name into the Spark search bar at top of page, that team shows up for me.

Let me know how it is working, SHEELAC49. Little changes can add up quickly.

Another idea for beginning to move more is to get up during every set of TV commercials. You could just stand up and march in place or you could do what I call "aerobic housework"--I stand up and fold laundry or take a load upstairs or I see if I can sweep the kitchen floor before the show starts up again.

I belong to a team that has a lot of good information posted about low carb diets. The team name is "South Beach Diet (Lifestyle!)" That diet approach worked well for me in the past, and seems to be working well for me now.

I plan low-carb snacks as part of my daily plan. I brown-bag those and a healthy low-carb lunch (usually a big salad with a variety of veg & turkey breast to work every day. I am able to stick with it better if I make sure to have enough groceries and snacks on hand.

Using the stairs instead of elevator is great! You can start by making small changes that become the basis for good habits. Another trick is to set a timer to walk. Try setting for 8 minutes. Walk until the timer goes off, turn around and walk back. Do this a couple of times a week, then increase the time and the number of days gradually.

that's a great idea but I haven't been keeping snacks on hand I have a lot to do to get prepared to be a ready participant in this new journey. I use to park further away from the store and use stairs instead of the elevator and stay in the house like a hermit but I've gotten lazy so I'm gonna have to do it one step at a time and just keep it going and use snacks as a reward. I need to learn about carbs and proteins any idea which is more important and what we need more of or can u put me onto a good page.

I give myself a fresh start/do-over immediately--just as soon as I realize things are headed in the wrong direction. If I sneak a treat, I skip one of the snacks I brought with me. If I think I won't be able to do my regularly scheduled exercise, I try to plan a different way to move (leave early and park further from an appointment, so I can walk before it, for example).

well for me it was just a determination to start over. to decide I don't want to be like this any more to put away my grief or even use it to strengthen me to get where I want to be. This is in remembrance of my husband we worked on this together at the beginning I will finish it for us.
