This was more embarrassing than funny...

I was 20 years old and I wanted to learn how to ballroom dance. I signed up for a beginners class. The lady who was in charge told me it will be of mixed ages and you don't have to come with a partner because they'll be lots of people. The night of my dance lessons I was nervous but excited at the same time to finally learn some new dance moves. When I walked in, I saw a lot of senior people all coupled ready to learn some new moves too. One of the older ladies walked up to me and asked, "Miss are you lost?" I said, "no." I told her I"m here for beginner's ballroom dancing lessons. She looked at me with raised brows and turned to the others who were all staring by this time. By now I am red faced and confused and contemplating do I stay, or do I go?! The dance instructor called me over and asked me the same thing as the first lady, "Are you lost?" Once they all new that I wasn't lost that I was here to learn this dance like the rest of them they partnered me up with a man in his 60's. This man had a big grin on his face but my face, by this time, was serious and just wanted to get on with this lesson. While the dance instruction was going on my dance partner kept moving us out of view of the others, so I had to dance us back in view. He kept doing this and when I moved us back in view some of the senior ladies were glaring at us. I was so embarrassed and wanted to leave this place! Finally, the male dance instructor took notice because of the look on my face and saved me from this uncomfortable situation. The rest of the night wasn't too bad after that but I didn't return for anymore dance lessons. I signed up for Tai chi lessons instead.




What was the name of the last movie you watched? Would you recommend it?

I'm supposed to dust my whole house??? Uhhh...quite possibly NEVER? Here and there, this and that, I usually just ask my son to dust and settle for whatever he gets done.

Ready for this one....My ex husband. He always knew me thin and when I had our daughter I gained a lot of weight and well my daughter is now 26 and i'm still at that size. We divorced 19 years ago and I just want that satisfaction of saying.....you left this for what?????

I know will sound crazy but a nice slim fitting pair of Jeans, my leather coat, and boots, you know the ones with little heels, I want to feel good and look good. No muffin top, no second thoughts about "does this ;make me look fat"

I have tried replacing sugars with stevia...some times it works, but some times it doesn't. I doesn't melt well, and it does not work well if sugar is part of the rising agent. I have also tried substituting fat free cheese in a lot of dishes. It melts if you spray it with Pam or that Butter Crisco.

This one's a little tricky...it really depends. Sometimes I want to go out sometimes a nice movie night at home is more fun. In general though, I'll say go out to the movies although I tend to do more of the movie nights at home :)

I used to...and every time I have gotten back on track, I seem to have another surgery of sorts and am limited again. I am working on finding a new routine that fits my restrictions that I can be consistent with, and still get enough sleep.

Yes, my wedding day to my second husband. I had lost a few pounds, I felt beautiful and nothing could bring me down. I see the pics and that is what I want to be like again. Like you I wasn't skinny just healthy and happy.

My short term goals, of 5% at a time...I was inspired by SherylD. My long term goal is based on a weight that I looked and felt great at. It is not what the charts suggest for me, but I have no desire to look like Twiggy. I am a real woman with real curves that I refuse to be ashamed of.

I am training myself to plan my food a day in advance, other than that, I tend to be a really laid back, fly by the seat of the pants kind of gal. That, of course, is the personal side of life. I teach, so my job is very structured.

My go to exercise is walking, I love it plus while I walk I can think things out and make plans for the coming days so it's not only exercise but productive.

I drink a lot of plain water, but I also like some decaf with the coffe-mate sugar free creamer, and Tazo's Zen green tea (hot). When we go out to eat, it depends on the area. Some places the water has a "taste" to it, and when it does I prefer diet coke with a slice of lemon. I have recently gotten into juicing, so often run fruit to a blender, then add water to make it thinner cause I prefer to drink through a straw.

OMG that sounds wonderful..I"m going to try the pretzel and rolo. as for high protein i'm a big fan of hummus, chick peas, eggs, and yogurt on occasion. I have to be in the mood for that one though.

I like almonds, and shredded fat free cheese melted on a low or no fat tortilla. If I want a small sweet treat, I like putting 1 rolo on a small twisted preztel, warming it up to the melty stage, and smashing it down with an almond. I let them cool in the fridge for about 20 minutes until they set. I am easily satisfied with 1 or 2, and they are less than 30 calories each. I also love popcorn.

Never...but not many people believe me. When I was little I had super light blonde hair. As I got older, and my friends started going gray, mine turned dark. To look at me now, you would think I always had brown hair. It is just now starting to get a little gray. I think gray hair is lovely.

I drink through a straw. For some reason, that always makes me drink more. If I find I am falling behind, I have been known to touch the tip of my tongue on something I don't like the flavor of, then down a bunch of water real easily to get the taste out of my mouth.

Does the idea of gray hair bother you, or make you feel less attractive?

Almost always. Sometimes I get so exhausted that I end up sleeping until almost noon on my day off. I will still eat 3 balanced meals, but I track it as lunch, dinner, and a snack because of the time I am eating.

Do you try to meet all your nutrient requirements, or just worry about calorie intake?

I love taking walks. But with the weather as it has been I have had to move that indoors. I have a small home gym and I use that most of time right now.

I do not use SP to plan meals. I am a lousy cook, and all of us are finicky eaters. It is difficult to find new recipes that anyone is willing to try. Portion control is my main problem.

Have you ever tried any green smoothies, or know where there are free recipes for them?

To be honest I have no budget really. We make a list, check it twice, and then add a few things along the way. Not perfect but works for us...just me and hubby.

I do both, I track on line and I record my readings off the treadmill and bike and the weight machines I use.

Is it hard for you to shop for food on the budget you have set for buying food?
