Having just taken delivery of this DVD today and reading some of the posts here, I can't tell you how excited I am at the thought of doing this for my workout tomorrow.

Guess I'd best get a good nights sleep tonight!

I've done FIRM workouts since 1987 and have to say they are the most effective, beautifully produced workouts on the market.

As for plyos, I have found that my 45 year-old knees don't respond well, and I modify them to be short, quick squats. I get a great workout doing this and still love the FIRM.

Have a happy, healthy day!

hello. my name is Cindy. I am new to this message board. I have many Firm videos. I love them all. Boot Camp is probably one of my fav's. The plyo's are rough on the knees sometimes but I just keep knees bent slightly. That helps. I'm 51 yrs old. I've lost just over 10 lb's so far. I wanna lose another 10.

I finally got around to doing this one.

I really like Alison's cueing. She's one of the best at that. I also like how she layers the moves. I have time to "get it" before she moves on.

This one is definitely going in the regular rotation.

I did this for the first time last night and it was a killer - especially all of those plyos!

Allison is an excellent instructor and queuer so I was able to keep up with the changing moves pretty well but it is very fast paced.

Just when you think you're going to get a slight break she announces, "Now it's time to do some cardio and get our heart rate up." What? I thought that was what I just did in the last segment!

emoticon

This one may grow on me after doing it a few times.

Ok I did this dvd for the first time today and just love it. It's just the right pace and the cuing was perfect. I prefer this over Ultimate fat burn that I did yesterday. I burned 450 calories doing Bootcamp maximum calorie burn for 45 minutes. Sandra

Did this again last night; didn't do so good at the plyos; only about half of them. Stayed on Sue Mi level for the rest. But it's a good workout!

I've done this about 3 times now. I still struggle with some of the plyometric moves. I can see progress though, & that's what counts. I feel so good after completing this workout, like I've done something & pushed myself.

I'll probably do this tonight for the second time. It's a great workout to burn off calories, that's for sure!! I was even able to keep up with most of the plyos the first time I did it.

I tried this one tonight and loved it too. At first, it seems like it might be easy and then she throws in those plyometrics! Some of them really get that heart rate up and fast. I had to get water a few times in between sections too.

I tried this for the first time last week. It truly kicked my butt & I loved it! I, too, had to stop a few times for water. I'm planning on using it again this week.

Yes I agree it is a butt kicking workout and I had to stop about 3 times briefly to get some water. In the end I had rivers of swet pouring off of me and I feel great. Highly recommend this one to everyone

I bought this workout last week -- I love it! Alison has a natural talent for cuing the moves at the proper time.
I really like the way the workout is divided into segments. It makes it feel like it flies by. The abs section is my favorite; you get a serious burn, so you can feel it working!

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results each time.

Just did this DVD for the first time today, and I love it. It's a good solid intermediate workout. The moves are pretty basic, but they are very effective. I was sweating up a storm and burned 400 calories.

I am definitely glad I purchased this DVD!

I finally got over my fear of this one and did it last night. What was I afraid of??? I made it through more than half, including the Plyo, without a problem; near the end I had to follow the beginners, but not for weights. Good workout!

I just did this DVD for my first time and it's tough! I can see how people say it works for them. I was wondering though since it includes some strength training moves, should I do the strength training I do at the gym on the same days or alternate? It'll be hard though cause I do some days exercising at home and other day where I got the gym so it'll be hard to gym equipment exercises the same day I do this DVD. What do people think?

The first time I did this video, I HATED it; I don't even remember why.

I went back to it this month because I made a "FIRM Bootcamp" rotation for myself and am relying on this as my C+S video. I love it! I love the way they divide it into segments with the screen telling you which part you're on, I love how darn hard the plyos are in the second and third plyo segments, I love that my heartrate is elevated, I love it! I'm pretty small and I have consistently burned ~350 cals with this one each time, which is a lot for me on a C+S video.

And this may be TMI, but between this February Bootcamp rotation and the TransFIRMation one I did last month, I have noticed a change in my butt's SHAPE. Not so much in size, but it's kinda... perkier. LOL emoticon

This is an AWESOME video! I bought it back in the spring and I try to do it low key at my own pace once every 2 weeks. THE FIRM is very fun. I own way too many and have a hard time finding a favorite. If you don't own this, I suggest you get it. Again, I was able to perform all moves, but recently can not and just do what I can and improvise.......I still sweat!!!!!!

Hi Fayettesidra,

I usually burned between 450 to almost 500 calories. But remember those calories are based on your weight and heart rate. I could get this info by using my heart rate pedometer.

Anyone know approximately how many calories are burned doing this workout? I know Tae Bo burns about 900 cal/hour...is this similar?

I agree! This reminds me of the classic Firm tapes that kick your rear every time you do them. I love it!

I tried Bootcamp for the first time today and absolutely LOVED it! It's a great workout that is easy to follow and felt like I did my body a lot of good by the time it was over.

I LOVE THIS WORKOUT! It is so much fun, the segments make it seem like it is going faster and it really gets my heartrate up. Definetly one of my favs.

I really love this workout too. It's fun and you can really break a good sweat. I like that there's no step involved in this workout. I have fibromyalgia and a hip injury, and sometimes the box is too much. I would also recommend the Ultimate Fat Burning Workout also led by Allison Davis. All you need is a pair of dumbells, no step is required. It has a really fun kickboxing segment that I really love.

I personally love this workout! Every time I do it I work up a great sweat and feel as though I've accomplished something (burning those calories!). It doesn't use the step, but it gets your heart rate up there. I liked how it alternated plyometric and cardio segments. There are 3 of each and when I finished the last plyometric segment, I was so excited because I knew I only had one more cardio segment and cool down/abs to do. There is a lot of focus on the beginner modifications; I prefer them to stick to Alison and Allie with the regular/power moves. Overall great workout. Highly recommended.

Use this thread to post your reviews on this tape starring The FIRM's Master Instructor, Alison Davis.

From the back cover:

The FIRM master instructor Alison Davis has developed this effective, fat-burning workout that combines bootcamp training with cardio skills. As you jump, hop, squat and lunge your way through this high-energy workout, you'll build muscle, speed and agility to see results three times faster than doing cardio alone.

If you want to go beyond basic cardio and get results faster, Bootcamp - Maximum Calorie Burn is the workout you've been waiting for. It's fitness at its best with bootcamp conditioning basics and plyometric "power burst" exercises. The moves are easy to follow so that anyone can do them and see immediate results.
