I'm enjoying my old VHS FIRM tapes, but this is one I will try eventually.

I love it! Whenever I need a really good sweat session I use this. It's not boring and the instructor keeps things flowing very nicely.

My husband bought this DVD for me last night and I tried it out today. I absolutely LOVED this workout and thought Kelsie was amazing. I have only done one other DVD of her's (The Wave) and I wasn't impressed. I have been wanting to try this DVD for about 6 months now but there are so many negative reviews about this workout on various fitness websites that I have passed it by not wanting to waste money. It's great and I look forward to adding this to my rotation.

The 500 calorie, burn is well worth the money. Instructor Kelsie is no joke. She keeps you moving and shaking the entire 60 mins. My heart rate monitor clocked 620 cals from my first workout.

As anyone who watches the daily workout thread knows, I do this workout.... a lot. My daily workout routine tends to either be this one with another workout (or two) tacked on, or this one twice. At this point I know the moves so well I could probably do it in my sleep.

I only use 3 lb. weights on this workout, but it does the job. It's given me really fantastic results. This is the workout I started with when I got into the Firm, and I never tried doing the beginner's adjustments. I love jumping around too much, heheh.

I wore a heart rate monitor and did the workout this morning. The HRM said I burned 421 calories. However, I should point out that I am obese and could not keep up with the instructor. I also took very short rest breaks. My bottom line is I can burn 500 calories if I keep the intensity up. I plan on doing this dvd often.

Two thumbs up!

To be honest, the first time that I did this workout, I hated it because I was having a hard time with Kelsie's cuing. I decided to give it one more try, and LOVED it because I had gotten used to what she was doing. This is a VERY intense butt-kicker that I use about once a week. It's also one of the few new Firms that approach the intensity level of the classic ones, in my opinion.

I love this workout. I did it on Saturday after not having done it for a while and really pushed myself. And I felt great when I was done. I'm planning to do it again this week.

I like this workout a lot. The kick boxing moves are lots of fun. I have all of my Firm Dvd's arranged in a Firm rotation calander from their website and I am always happy to see this one come up in the rotation.

Great Great Workout - I mean it really makes you work - It was in my rotation a few months ago and I tell you it kick my butt... But I love it - what really gets me are the push up combos and when you have to drop the weights and pick them up on the lunges - whew I'm tried just thinking about it...

I found this one at Walmart yesterday for $10, too! I just couldn't pass it up. It is one tough workout, and I love it. Kelsie is insanely buff and a great instructor. I had to modify some moves, but I'm also a lot older than Kelsie. This is a great tough-day workout!

SO MUCH FUN! Totally kicked my butt too, 566 calories burned.

I got a lot of the steps fine, and I know the ones I fumbled on will get better next time. I'm throwing this into my week rotation!

Tonight was my 2nd time doing this dvd and I was able to keep up a lot better... for some reason I still can't get that stupid iazz box down.

I'm relatively new to FIRM workouts, today is the start of my 2nd Power of 10 Challenge. So I don't have many dvds yet, but this is my new favorite. Followed by Cardio Inferno. I can't wait to get the Pump, Jump N Jab one, since I always feel like I'm doing something when I do kickboxing workouts lol.

ETA: I am totally in love with FIRM workouts. I was able to do pushups today! They were the modified version, but it was still a huge accomplishment for me because previously I could never do more than two at a time. This is further proof that I am really building strength!

This is a tough workout. It is 60 minutes long but so far I have only been able to do about 40 minutes worth. I have done it about 3 times, I find it pretty easy to follow the moves, but it is a workout, for me anyway. I use the Ultimate Fat Burner more, about 3 times a week. 500 Calorie Burn is something for me to work up to.

Christina - glad you enjoyed it too. I agree sometimes they don't have any warm-ups and sometimes they don't have enough of a cool down/stretch at the end.

Just did this one for the first time and I think it will take a couple of times for me to get the cues and moves down.

I really loved the intensity and Kelsie's enthusiasm. I also thought that the cool-down/stretch is one of the best.

My con is that there is not much of a warm-up... she just jumps right into it. I guess that's what you have to do to burn 500+ calories in an hour. :-P

I find that it takes a couple of times or doing other workouts with Kelsie to get used to her style and then she is much easier to follow. It is definitely challenging too each time you do it.

I borrowed this workout from a friend and started adding it to my rotation about 2 1/2 weeks ago. I think it's awesome. It is definitely fast paced, but after a few times you get the moves down and become accustomed to Kelsie's cueing and you are really working your rear end off!! I am really enjoying it.

This is my all time favorite dvd. I love Kelsie's energy. I must admit I had a hard time catching onto the moves, but by the 3rd time I got it. I don't have a heart rate monitor so I'm glad too see from others that it generally burns over 500 calories. I'll definitely look for more Kelsie dvds.

I also have Cardio Inferno. It's pretty good - simple and short for when you don't have 60 min. to spare.

Leslie - sorry to hear they were all out of this workout! Hopefully you can pick it up at another place. Cardio Inferno is another good one. It is only 30 minutes and the cueing isn't the best but it is really fun and it surprises you in parts about how challenging it can be.

Cindy - it is an awesome workout and definitely one that you will grow into. I think it is still going to be hard if you can keep up with Kelsie and all the moves!

Hi All-I just started this w/o today IT IS AWESOME! I had to do some of the low level adjustments-so there is plenty of room to grow-and I worked up a sweat and kept my hr up. I don't have a moinitor to register the cal burn, that is nextr on my list of things to get.

I got this at Target-our local Meijer store has it too. (I live in Indiana)

Have a good one!

Nancy, They were all gone. Cardio Inferno was there. I've read good things about it on this site, but I didn't get it. I kind of had my heart set on the 500 Calorie Burn. That's Ok. I will find it somewhere else:)

I just tried this one tonight and really liked it. Kelsie's workouts do move pretty fast (at least all the ones I have tried have been fast moving) but I don't mind that. I find that it wasn't too bad to follow along - there were only a couple of moves where I had struggled a bit.

I found this workout was a tough one - even just keeping it low impact and using 5 lb weights. I also like that it is a longer workout (60 minutes) since there are days when I really want a longer workout instead of combining a few shorter ones.

Thanks everyone, I was thinking of getting this one, but I think I will wait awhile. I have a hard time with fast moving dvds.

I prefer Kelsie's "Punch Jump n Jab" over her "500 Calorie Burn." After the 8th time working out with the "500 cal burn" dvd I got bored. I haven't used this dvd for a whole two months now. It's great that it's an hour long but the music and the speed Kelsie was at tired me out.

I just can't love this one like I do all of Allison's. I think it's Kelsie. She moves too fast and it's hard to understand her cues. I have done this one about 10 times and I still can't keep up during the cardio...as in the moves. I am not tired and I improvise, it's just that my legs can't move the way she instructs. It's too fast and dancy.

I think it's a good one and I get a lot of calorie burn, but I still can't do the cardio moves...ugh!

That's why I haven't gotten this one yet - Kelsie is awesome at cues, she's very energetic, but she moves FAST!! I'm afraid this one will take a while for me to learn. I'm still getting the hang of Power Half Hour.

Doing my best...one day at a time.

Just looking at Kelsie and the title on the cover scared me. But this morning I DID IT!! Definately different from the videos I've been doing lately. I must say, this one can stand right next to the classics. Can't wait to see how I feel tomorrow...right now my legs are like jello.

I had to follow up on my response from yesterday because this workout is a good one! I woke up this morning and felt sore in my hamstrings - In a GOOD way! I've been doing the FIRM for the last 4 months/5-6 days a week and didn't expect to feel sore after this workout. Apparently it got my hams in a new way. Can't wait to do this workout again...only maybe not today. emoticon

One last thing, I got this DVD from netflix. They have several FIRM DVDs on there you can borrow and try out. And with no late few you can use it as long as you want.

I did this workout for the first time today and really enjoyed it. It is more intense like the good-old original firm workouts from the late 80's/early 90's. I've been getting various firm DVD's from netflix to change up my routine and it really has kept me motivated!

Okay, I did it again last night. I feel like I really don't know a tape until I do it about 6 times, this is only number 2.

I am sore this morning, deep in my glutes. I don't know how many calories I burned, but I love this workout. I used 7 lb. weights, except during one part, I used 5 lbs. She really works your legs and glutes with all the lunges. I also like her Pump, Jump and Jab workout, also. I saw on one forum, that someone didn't like her chattiness, but I love it. She let's me know what is coming and reminds me to keep good form throughout the whole tape. It makes the moves easier to do. Two thumbs up to Kelsie.

I did this workout for the first time today. Burned 654 calories! It's about time the Firm put out a longer workout. They call so many of their workouts "total body workouts" but this one truly is. I really like Kelsie more and more everytime I do her workouts. She's a great leader and she cues well for the most part. Love this one!

Oh, and I tried to use 10 pound weights through the whole thing but I had to lower down to 8 pounds at some parts. With how fast it moves, I wanted to make sure I had good form.

Forget the past. No one becomes successful in the past.

I did it again tonight and burned 624 calories!
Today, I totally lost my groove and had a hard time keeping up again - lol. I was tired though, but still was able to do most of it and improvised when my feet just couldn't move fast enough - lol.

I get all tied up with the grape vines...

I do like it.

Okay, so I did the 500 calorie Workout today from beginning to end this time. I used 2 lb weighs during all cardio segments and 5 lb weights for most of the strength parts.

I had my Polar f6 on and ended up burning 644 calories.

It burned more than 500 as promised on the DVD...very impressive. The moves this time seemed a little easier to follow on some parts. Others are still too fast, but I held my own a little better. I spent less time running in place.

I only skipped one section and did butt kicks instead - and that was with the push-ups. I did my own combo moves there because I did a lot of push-ups on the other DVD I did - so just could not handle anymore today.

But, did the whole thing and actually enjoyed it more today. I hope to really master the moves eventually.

Haha, yes, you are so right about not getting bored. That is why I have different DVD's I am trying to weave into my routine. I just bought today another Firm DVD - - the bootcamp fat burning one..

But this one caught me completely by surprise by the first segment. I will keep trying it until I get the moves down.

Alot of the Firms use the same moves in different combinations. If you are new to the Firm, then keep at it, you will pick up the steps in time. I don't know how many times it took me to get some of the workouts, but I persevered and it works.

I think that if you are not challenged by and routine then you will get bored then you will quit.

I am completely new to workout DVD's and my first introduction to them was very simple with the Biggest Loser routines. Easy to follow right off the cuff..

I popped in this 500 calorie DVD lst night thinking I could follow..boy, I was wrong. She goes way too fast and I have no idea how to do the moves...I tried to keep up when I could, but spent a lot of time jumping in place during some of the cardio segments.

Grapevines and mambos and things - too fast and complicated for someone who has not slowly memorized the moves.

I was okay with the weight training segments and a few cardio segments were ok. The first cardio segment was like you were a Dallas Cowboy Cheeleader tryout or something...

I did about 45 minutes of it (I had already done other exercises yesterday and used this to get me to 700 calories burned) and I burned 550 calories. So, I would have burned more if I had finished it. It does work. I also used light 2lb weights when doing the cardio parts.

I think it gets you moving and your heart rate stays elevated a lot throughout - even during the weights.

But, you have to be very coordinated and should try to master each cardio segment..perhaps watch it and try it and then do it again and again until you get it. You burn calories while you learn the routine.

I liked the idea of it, but it's way too fast. I suggest they add some bonus feature that teaches you the steps, so you are not so lost while doing it.

I put the DVD in today with every intention of doing at least 30 mins. No such luck; I am not ready for this right now. It's pretty fast paced and she jumps right into it; WOW.

I will go back to The Firm Cardio Core Fusion; I was getting the hang of it and the workout is really good. Plus, I can modify and still keep up.

I am thinking that the Firm is geared more toward those that are advanced in these sort of workouts. Maybe I will re-visit 500 in six months or so.

Received the DVD for Christmas and used it for the first time today. Used 4lb weights and got a very good workout. Will increase weights when I learn the routines better. The workout is a little long for me so I may need to do it on Sundays when I have more time. I like my Fanny Lifter and Transfirmer but this was nice as I didn't need to drag out any large equipment and put it away afterwards.

I bought this dvd a few days ago and just did it today. This is my first time working out with Kelsie. I have to say I was sweating by the end of the workout. This dvd really does work you. I hope to see some results after a few times doing this. I think I'm going to be sore tomorrow. The only thing that I have add is I was missing some of the moves. She moves very quickly into the next steps and I was kinda lost at points. I just marched in place and was able to catch up to what they were doing.

Got mine yesterday at Best Buy. I watched it first and I really liked it. I did half of it today.
One thing I don't like is that no one is sweating. It's like they stop filming, dry everyone off and start again.

I have the 500 Calorie Workout and really really like it! I bought it last Tuesday and have already done it twice. The weight segments are pretty challenging and just long enough to where you don't think you can do anymore. I think the most weight I used was 15# at the end for dumbbell flies and triceps move. For the most part, though, I used 5# and 8# weights. To give you an idea, in 'slower' C&S DVD's, like Aerobic Body Shaping, I use 12, 15 and 20's for more moves. The cardio segments are high energy and the moves are new and fun. I would highly suggest this workout to someone.

I did it and I like it! It was over a week ago. She uses a medium weight. I used 7 pounds and it was challenging. It has lots of classic Firm moves with Kelsie's wonderful cueing. She let's you know when and what is coming so you just keep moving. The classic moves are lunges, squats and dips. Lots of combo moves and a kickboxing, mambo section that is fun. I have heard from other boards that it really does burn 500 calories on their heart rate moniters, and it is doable. I think Kelsie is great, because she is motivating and gives form pointers throughout.
