They kind of serve me as a mini-motivator. I'm pretty self-disciplined generally. But even when I just reached a new trophy (like yesterday), I still find that I like to watch the points mount on any given DAY -- as I add fitness exercises, or track more food, or whatnot. Watching so that I try not to miss any Bonus Spins helps keep me motivated. If I think I'm about at 16 or so points on a given day, it motivates me to go and read an article, or do ten more minutes of strength training, etc. And since I don't much fancy the next trophy that I'm due for, I aim to really power through the next couple of months' SP workouts and eating plans!! So the big numbers don't actually discourage me.

They annoy me too, but I still have to try and get as many as day as I can. However, since the gaps are so big, they should find more things to give you points on or let you read more articles or make more posts or something.......

25 & 10's have been coming my way and it makes me happy. emoticon

I am a very easy going gal that loves people and wants to know as many as I can. I want to make new friends so I can enjoy more of life. When people get to 55 or 60 there are some that think life should be over but guess what it is just beginning. Maybe 50 years ago it was over but not now people are living longer and working in their 70's. I would have been if I didn't have leukemia and it does not stop me but I have good days and bad, so being home if I need rest, I rest, at work I couldn't do

I absolutely love the points system here. I'm a gamer at heart, and to me, each point is like getting closer to another level or achievement. I'm only on the 3rd trophy (blue starburst), so I may not like it the further I go along, but right now it is quite a motivator for me.

If you always put a limit on everything you do, physical or anything else, it will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them. ~ Bruce Lee

Yes, it was funny at the beginning, but now I don't really pay attention to those. I don't feel like it's a real reward for me.

I have been motivated by the points in the last week since I joined, but last night I reached my next trophy (by buying The Spark) and when I saw it say I needed 1,400 points to get to the next level, I thought whoaa I may not be so excited about 1 point here or 3 points there.

In the beginning, points were a big motivator for me. Unfortunately, as one progresses through this program and accumulates more points, the gap between each trophy grows. I have earned 22,659 points thus far and still have 2,341 to earn until my next trophy. Now, the gap is too large for me and the points have consequently been devalued.

Do the points STILL motivate you?

My first mini-goal is to get down to 119.5 lbs (and break that 20's barrier). I am on my way!
