As someone with chronic knee pain (10 years or so and I'm only 26..) due to the way my knee caps move i was told by my drs recently to avoid anything with lunges, squats, inclines and steps.. i was sad that that meant i pretty much had to stop using the active however my pain started long before the wii existed or even knew what a squat or lunge was
I mentioned to him that i have a wii and he laughed and said that he sees soo many people with 'wii knees' so it sounds like this is a common injury
i'm not sure if this is helpful or just added info.. i hope you are able to find a solution that isn't surgery like mine
I agree with making sure that your knees are aligned with your feet and they do not go past your feet. For me, my knees starting hurting from the beginning ( Ihave had knee surgery)so I iced them a couple a times a day for the first week or so. Then my knees strengthened and when I had to take three weeks off due to my back problems, my knees started hurting from NOT exercing them. Iced them again. Once I got back all is well.
To sum it up,LOL, check form and ice your knees between sessions.
