Since last on this thread I've maintained under 160 as desired. This is now my high number.

My goal is to get it back to 157 so I can inch it further down.

It's rainy today so I don't know about exercise outside, but for the weekend I had a hike up a mountain and a treadmill walk over my NicA retreat weekend. There were also stairs at the Villa so I got plenty of exercise in. The food at the villa flowed though.

How nice to see an old thread revive! Goals for the week? To see 160 by walking more and eating carefully. I want to break down my set point. Today I am at 162 again.

Where is everyone these days? Why not update us here. I loved this thread and it was stagnant for a couple years! Help me please.

I just glanced down the thread and saw that a few of you are right ahead of me in getting to goal. How inspiring for me!

WOW. I just saw 3 grown deer 50 feet from my window running from the carts with engines being driven on the golf course path. That never happened here before. I hope they don't run out onto the highway. How breath taking that was.

Back to topic: I think I would be better off coming here more often from now on. Thank you everyone, really!

I rarely come back here but I am very grateful that I can.

This week I want to drop 1.5 lbs from 159.0 on the scale. I want to walk while the sun is partly out and the temps rise into the 40s. Today won't
quite be that high but I'm starting today.

I had a bad first year here, or two, or three, but turned it around in November of 09. I feel better already.

Thanks guys for keeping this alive. We can make it, yes we can - can!

My goal for the week is to take some of our excess Halloween candy to school and hand it out to the students as rewards. I've just gotta get rid of some of this candy before more of it makes it's way into my tummy :)

The weekends are a killer for me, ESP. Saturdays!!

I always have one meal to where I can eat and have a dessert without counting it, and then get right back on.

My GOAL for this weekend is to have that one meal and not let the rest of the weekend bother me. so come monday I'll let you know if I stuck to it!

This week I want to get to 132 pounds if possible. That is officially when I squeeze into the healthy BMI range. Also, I lost 7 pounds prior to joining SP. When I get to 132 pounds, I will have lost 40 pounds!

I have been on a four-week plateau and haven't seen much progress. I think I am having a breakthrough, so I hope I can meet my goal soon.

My goal for this week will be to get into the 130's. I had a great week last week and lost a few pounds but refused to update my tracker until official weigh-in on Monday. Let's see how things are in the morning...

I have been eating within my calorie range and exercise vigorously. My main goal for the rest of the week is to get enough sleep at night, which has been a challenge for me.

My goals for this week are to...

1) get back to drinking the water (slipped up all weekend)

2) make the workout routines a ritual and try not to let anything interrupt them

3) get at least 4 hours of intense cardio in + strengthtraining every other day

This was an unusual week with lots of social activity that incluces eating away from home. My goal to make good choices when doing so, and try to get as much exercise time in as I can. I'm like to see my ticker move down this week.

Hey All,

New week, new goals.....

I actually only have one-keep up my focus and intensity. Last week was very busy and hectic and my oldest got a mild concussion last night, so that is why my goal is to still pay proper attention to the others in my life while not letting my drive and determination wane....

Well, I kept up with my goals until yesterday. Darned holiday weekends. I went way over on my calorie and fat intakes. The scale said I'd gained back almost everything it took me 2 weeks to lose, but my official weigh-in isn't until Wed so hopefully I have time to turn that around. :( The good news is that I got some more fresh produce into the house so my goal will be to munch on that when the mood strikes next time instead of munching on all the cookies I had yesterday. I did keep up with my SP strength stuff, and I'd like to keep that as my other goal this week.

I know I am late, but my goals are consistant...and they work.

No soda...not even diet.
Drink 20---8 oz glasses of water each day.
Track ALL my food (even on bad days).
Do my workout 3 times per week and log it.
Buy fresh produce and eat it!

I've lost 16 lbs already!

I feel great!

My goal this week was to undo all the harm I did last Sunday. I went to an amusement park with my family and ate onion rings and garlic fries. Afterwards we went out to dinner, and we had a feast. On Monday my scale revealed that I gained 4.5 pounds, which meant I gained back everything I lost last two weeks!

This week I got back on track by exercising everyday, ate sensible, and used the nutrition and exercise trackers. So far I lost 4 of those pounds, so I'm almost back to where I was.

This weekend I will REALLY try to watch my eating because I don't want to repeat last Sunday again! Tomorrow I will go to a weight training class and a step aerobics class. I really enjoy my group exercise classes!

Wish me luck, and I can use all the support I can get...

My goal for this week is to remain under control while on vacation. This week my town is holding a hamburger fest. Limit ONE hamburger! No fries, small scoop if ice cream.
Next week I will get up and do my workouts early so that they don't get pushed to the side, and over the weekend when we go to WV to visit my son, make good food choices while eating out. My weigh in day is Friday. My ticker didn't move this week, so another goal is just for it to move even one pound next week.

Alyosha, I've done that program before (everyone see coolrunning.com to know what we're talking about), but never been able to get past week 6. For me, it's very doable until that point. Would you like a buddy? My exercise has gone somewhat downhill and maybe we could work on it together?

Bighairtexan, be wary of buffets! I've read that we have trouble gauging our own appetites and tend to overeat when there's endless food in front of us, whether or not we're aware of it. (There's research to back that up, but I couldn't find it just now.)

It's possible to make better food choices, just be sure not to overdo it. Perhaps if you estimated the types of food you would choose ahead of time on your nutrition tracker, you would not only get an idea of what portions you could eat, but be more likely to stick with your choices.

As for myself, my goal is to stay on track this weekend when my mom visits. We generally go out to eat a lot and I'm not as careful when I don't have my meals planned in advance.

Good luck, everyone!

My goals for this week are:
1 - To not sit down after I get out of work until after 6pm. The TV and computer suck me in!
2 - Get my sodium under control. I had 4800+ yesterday, which is most likely why I gained a pound over night. Yikes!
3 - Log my weekend. I was on another site before this and I just never could seem to get my weekends under control.

I am also doing the Couch to 5K. The site is www.coolrunning.com and I love it. I'm on week 2 and I can't believe how much I like it. The trick is to run slowly enough that you can have a conversation. That was hard. As an ex-smoker, that's not very fast and I felt kind of foolish at first.

The difference between try and triumph is a little "umph"!

Spark jar is my short name for SPARK GUYS SAVINGS CLUB JAR... Can you see why I shortened it. Anyway it is another team out here in SP land and the goal is to help people organize their finances while doing their weight loss. They challenge you to put a dollar in the jar each day.

I am trying to hit $1000 dollars in my jar by next September. My plan is to do my dollar a day plus when we go grocery shopping, any money that I save throught the stores card or coupons gets thrown in the jar too... I suspect I will come up with more ways to come up with money for the jar as I go along because any time I write down a goal, it eats at me!!!

If you want the easy way to find the team go to my spark page and take the team link from there... be sure to read the article on the team that is in the lower right hand corner of the team page.

Let me know if you start saving!!!

One minute, One hour, One day at a time. Bit by bit I can do this!

Well this is my second week here with sparks and I am hoping to be under 180 by my next weigh in. I weigh myself every wednesday as that seemed to be the safest day for me!! I really like the idea of a sparks jar,I hadn't heard that yet so I think I will try that too.Is that for every day you stay on track?Or every pound you lose?Another goal I have is to maintain exercising 5 days a week, which I have been and even added yesterday on!Good luck everyone with your goals this week! emoticon

Thank you for all your kind words of encouragement...it will be tougher some days than others but together we can do it!

One day at a time...

My goals this week are to learn more about food choices. I stayed within the calorie range all last week but had days where I wasn't hitting the protien goal. I also have added fiber into the mix this week and know that will also be a challenge. I want to exercise 3 times this week. (I had that goal last week and didn't do it at all)

I also want to continue adding a dollar a day to my spark jar!

The person who posted on going from the couch to 5K, can you tell me where you found that info?

Have a great week all and wish me luck, my second weigh-in is tomorrow morning.

One minute, One hour, One day at a time. Bit by bit I can do this!

My goal is to return to my nutrition tracker. Get back to drinking 8 glasses. I just had my gallbladder removed (last monday) that was the worst week EVER! Now I am on a 6 to 6 fast with one snack. I am doing it for God with church until wednesday. Well back to the gallbladder crap, it made me lose about 8lbs but that is no good for me...blah....thats how I feel about it lol. I would rather have lost that weight in a healthier way. Well I am better now I just have to finish my fast! I can't wait!

My goal this week is just to keep up what I've been doing. I have stayed within or below all my ranges for almost an entire week now and I want to keep that up. Not falling prey to temptation over the weekend was a challege and I made it. Yay! Now I'm just going to try to keep it healthy. There's another work b-day tomorrow which means lunch out and cake, but I'm hoping to be smart with my decisions and stay on track. I also want to try to do the SP strength training all 3 days this week. I only did it 1.5 times last week. Good luck to everyone with their goals!

Good luck everybody!

This week I'm going to log all food, every day. I have a history of logging during the week and then blowing it off all weekend. Also, I'm going to do the first week of the Couch to 5k program. I WILL be down by weigh-in next Monday!

Thanks BIgHairTexan. And again good luck.

BTW this morning I found I did lose 3 lbs. Yay.

We go to Vegas once a year. I suspect Rhode Island is a bit further. Thanks, I'm glad to be your friend and look forward to hearing about the trip. We're staying at The Hotel at Mandalay Bay this year.

My goals for this week remain the same.

Great Goals Everyone!

For me, my goal will be to hit the gym before work everyday this week as I did the previous week, it felt great and I really want to make it a habit.

My birthday is also this week so there may be some treats around. I want to do the best I can to keep the portions small and within my range.

Keep up the great work everyone!!

Well your new behaviors, while not quite what you need to do to lose weight at least are going in the right direction and you didn't gain. Baby steps is what will get you there eventually.
And I'm the one going to vegas. Thanks for the good luck wishes. I go to Vegas every month or 2 and part of the reason I go is for the great restaurants. This time I am going to go to more buffets. It's easier to see what I am getting that way. THey usually have good salad bars and I have never been turned on by the "all you can eat" scenario. I'll let ya know how it turns out.

Hi all,
I'm only into my second week. This week hasn't been easy so I'm hoping to make the next one easier.

I'm looking over what I learned about my eating in a week and I found that I didn't buy the muffin when I normally would have and I didn't order higher calorie food. However, I also didn't lose anything.
I'll be trying harder next week.

BTW for the person going to Vegas, good luck. Let me know how it goes foodwise as I'm going in the beginning of October.

Pam

My goal this week is to normalize the activities of the program and mold it into a new routine. I am going to try logging onto the site once in the evening when my eating is done and setting aside an hour or so for inputting my "data" for the day, blogging and checking in with my teammates.

well, I actually started on the 18th, so, I actually only have 9 days in. I was trying to avoid the scale so I did not get discouraged, but I have stepped on it anyway, and my weight is fluctuating alomst 5 pounds either way. I know I had just read that if you don't see a down change, to stick with it for a solid 6 weeks and then you will get a signifacent drop. Works for me!! For this week, I will continue to log my food and do my turbo video everyday, I am going to also bring a change of clothes, so if the possibility arises, I can hit the gym at least 3 times this week.

I've just started my 2nd week. I am leaving for 4 days in Las Vegas where everything is comped from room to food to the wine w/ my dinners. So in the past my goal would be to MAINTAIN. (and I'd usually gain)
But right now I am focused and it's all about LOSING. SO when I return on Friday, I am going to weigh LESS. And not just because my wallet is lighter either.

I will continue to use my food journal and log in all my food every day. That's a tough one for me. I start a food journal and don't stick to them. Keep drinking my water and continue my daily walks plus on Tuesday I'll go to the library and pick up a new exercise DVD for the week. I hope to lose another pound but would love to lose 2!

Now that we are starting our third week what do you hope to accomplish in the upcoming 7 days???

I plan on doing 15 min of cardio before my sculpt routine on MWF

I plan on adding an extra 30 min to one of my cardio workouts this week. Hopefully I will be able to make it all three days but don't want to set myself up for failure. So baby steps...one day this week.

I will eat in my range all next week except for Thursday. My husband and I have reservations at 5 star restaurant, we were blessed with a gift certificate for a 5 course dinner for two. I am not sure how much I will eat, not sure if I will even care for the fare (I am so a burger and fries kind of girl) but I am pretty sure I will go over unless I don't eat the rest of the day.

By the end I would love to be 2lbs lighter.

Maisy

So what about you??? emoticon
