Thank you so much. It is a releafe just talking to someone who has one and knows how awful it makes you feel sometimes. I hate that someone told you that about your husband I hope he hangs in there with you and is the kind of man they are all suppost to be lol but few are. I have been divorced twice first one cheated with my cousin the last one was abusive. At one time I tought maybe some day I will meed a nice one but now with this bag and all the scares I am so self consions don't think I could even talk to a man in that way again. I am glad your step son is good to you and stands up for you it means so much I know it does. I would love to know about the cook book thing and anytime you need a ear I am here :) God Bless

God bless you too. I was told when we lived in Ohio that my husband should divorce me because of it but he didn't. You can cry on my shoulder, somedays are just really tough. 2 out of 3 of my step children wanted to see it so they could understand what my husband and I were talking about. My step-son has been understanding and really protective of me because of it. They only saw the ostomy and not private areas but it helped them. It also helped his boss at the time was in research into cattle disease at OSU besides owning a dairy farm. He decided things with me. That was a big help. There is a cookbook out there for Crohns & Ulcer of Colotis. If you are interested, please let me know. I have the website addresss that I could give you. Have a terrific day!!

God bless you and hold you in the palm of his hand!

The order # is 125358 and that is for the 1&a half" opening. It is ActiveLife Convex one piece Drainable pouch with Durahesive Skin Barrier. With time and experience, you will get your pouch working right. It just takes time. I know the feeling and totally agree. It will get better. I used to cry when people told me that but it is true. I helped two others in my church where I went before we moved to Wisconsin deal with the issues. My husband is slowly getting more compassionate. I knew it was difficult for me on a really bad day. My old pouches were with stomahesive backing was 3 days. I had a terrible skin reaction due to the latex in it. I had tried holster 2 piece in the past and it didn't work well at all for me.

God bless you and hold you in the palm of his hand!

Thank you so much for the help, I am having good days and bad days dealing the longest I can get a bag to stay on is 3 days, I have the holster 2 piece with the clip. I use spray glue and glue pads and I clean with a wound cleaner the home health nurse gave me. I want to swim with my boys so bad this summer but am so afraid of what mite happen. If you don't mind can I have the order number off the bags you use I will glady give it a try. It feels so good to talk to someone who has a bag to others try but unless you have it you just have no clue. Hope you have a great day. God Bless

I use Convatec Active Life One Piece Pouch with Durahesive backing. It is also convex. This type of pouch has a longer life than some of the two piece kind due to it being more expensive. I am allergic to some of the other backings. I use soap and water instead of adhesive removers also due to allergies. My skin is doing much better. I am able to use this system when swimming for about 3 to 5 days. When I don't go swimming, it lasts 5 to 7 days. I know it can be tough. Hang in there.

God bless you and hold you in the palm of his hand!

I have an illeostomy. I got a cloth cover somewhere for it but it wasn't the greatest. Someone suggested I make my own. I didn't know if you could make something to protect the urinary diversion. You might want to check out a catolog of different products from an ostomy nurse. I can't pronounce right name for that type of a nurse and can't spell it either. They might have catologs with products from several different companies. I hope you can find something that works. I know infections are no fun. emoticon

I need some info. if anyone can help. I get in the pool and I am ok with the illeostomy. But with the urinary diversion I haven't been able to waterproof it. I have tried sveral things including the sticky plastic wrap type stuff-tegaderm? My dr. wants it waterproofed because of infections that I get. Part of the problem too is that this diversion leaks and that is why the tegaderm doesn't seem to do the trick. I don't think that I can get into a dry suit.
I would appreciate any and all suggestions. Thanks. emoticon
