Still gaining! I know I wasn't due to weigh in yet but I was curious and I am now up to 189 lbs!!! Not sure why.

Hope everyone else is having better luck with this than I am!

Welcome Razzle,

I usually measure my waist, hips and sometimes my thighs. There is a Monthly Measurement forum you can post your measurements in if you'd like to report that in every month.

The weight ticker can be found on your spark page, you'll need to edit your spark page, scroll a little towards the bottom and there you'll find the option to show the ticker and you'll be able to pick what you'd like.

Hi there. New to the whole sparkspeople thing as well as online support for weight loss. This forum really appeals to me to give me a sounding board to keep my goals in focus!
I've started officially tonight. My goal is to lose 58lbs. Just curious do you ladies take your measurements and if so what areas do you measure? Just the waist?

My current stats:
5' 3"
208 lbs (how do ya'll get the cool scale at the bottom of the post?)
42.5" waist

I looked on weight watchers for a reference on healthy weight for my height...They suggested from 117 to 149lbs. I'm naturally curvy so will go for the higher end and hope to achieve 149lbs by years end losing 3lbs a week to start off. So 24 lbs by April. Sounds like a huge number. emoticon

Goals:

Add more cardio and weight training to my activity
Remove excessive processed carbs (white flour, sugars, etc) from my diet
Plan a fresh veggie garden for summer
Lose 24 lbs.

Keep it up! One thing that I've found when I'm trying to loose weight with exercise is that I'll gain weight (in the form of muscle mass!) before I loose any.

I've been getting my healthy movement in most days, even when I'm not particularly trying to. Not doing so well on the water and the losing weight though. Up 4 lbs this week emoticon

Hello! I'm new here as well, and I would love to participate too!

My current goals are:

To loose 21 pounds by April 20th - so between 1 and 2 lbs a week.
To Drink 8 glasses of water a day
To take my dog for at least a 10 minute walk every day
To talk with at least one positive and supportive person each day
and to make sure to attend my belly dance classes 3 times weekly

My goals are:

8 glasses of water a day
30 minutes of cardio every other
30 minutes of belly dance or yoga every other day
cut back portion sizes
and focus on caloric intake

Good idea!

Goals:

60 minutes of cardio and/or ST 6 days/week
5 pounds gone per month

Get rid of 30 pounds
10 pounds gone - Buy a bikini - DONE!
20 pounds gone - Buy slinky cocktail dress
30 pounds gone - Buy size 4 pants
