Breadland Organic Whole Grain Bakery: One of Edmonton's newest bakeries is Breadland. It was started by two European master bakers and opened its doors at 11642 104th Ave., Oliver Square, in mid-May.
"Our bakers have over 30 years of European experience between them, they are the co-creators of the Royal Hungarian Baking Guild, a group that thrives to bake traditional European breads using centuries-old methods," says Sandor Szenthe, general manager.
"We decided to go fully organic, because we believe in the values of organic farming as well as environmentally and economically sustainable lifestyle. We also have a vision of improving the lives of our customers with products and education that support health and well-being."
His bakers produce over 70 different products made from six different grains: spelt, kamut, rye, brown rice, barley and unbleached white flour. They work with four different sour dough starters -- spelt, rye, brown rice -- for the gluten- free products -- and unbleached white.
