Today I've been watching some gardening shows on TV, and since they are all pre-recorded, I can get up and dance for about 5-6 minutes (usually 2 songs) in-between sitting on my rear. (I take notes in my gardening journal while watching the shows, so that's why I'm not lifting weights or doing some other kind of chair exercises during the programs.)

Finally all good news. My son's tests came back good yesterday and he was able to enroll at the University of Nevada Las Vegas as a sophmore.

My goal this week is to do all the things on my to do list. I am trying to get ready for our county fair where I am superintendant of the photography dept. It is a lot of work but I always enjoy it.

The painting I wanted to finish hasn't even been started and my birdhouse will have to wait. We had company for the last 8 days including a 3 year old.

Racking up a Spark Streak is certainly motivation to keep going. I went on a trip this week, broke all my streaks, and didn't exercise everyday. The only person who can make me get back on my regular exercise program is ME!

Today I'll be going to my daughter's to plant some more flowers and potted plants around her swimming pool, plus cook and make other preparations for tomorrow's Easter celebration at her home. Last week-end while I was there I didn't drink enough water and got dehydrated. Today I'm going to remember to drink more water!

Yesterday I started out with some leg lifts and bridges before I even got out of bed. Forgot to do that this morning, so I'll get down on the floor later and do some exercising. I always feel like I've accomplished something when I can get back up off the floor without too much effort!

I'll be anxious to see your decorated pots, Judith. I have some herb seeds that my daughter gave me for Christmas, and today I bought some really small clay pots to put them in. Hadn't even occurred to me that maybe I should decorate them. Great idea!

Got in 30 minutes of exercise yesterday to begin my streak again after totally forgetting to exercise on Saturday.

One of my goals for the past year or so is to practice getting up from the floor. I don't practice everyday, but most days I do. One of the main reasons I started doing this is because after I became a grandmother, I found that there were a lot of times I wanted to get down on the floor to play a game with my grandchildren. Over the years it became increasingly difficult for me to get back up.

Last night I knocked over a glass and it broke to bits when it hit my tile floor. When I moved my arm chair the roller came off the bottom of it, so I had to get down on the floor and lift the chair to fit the roller back into the slot.

It wasn't until later that I realized that it took no extra effort for me to get up and down a few times while cleaning up the glass and fixing the chair. WooHoo! My efforts have paid off! Now I'd better keep practicing!

Almost a full week coming up with lunches with friends. Must stay on track!
Didn't do real well today, but I guess I could have eaten the entire coconut meringue pie by myself instead of splitting it with my friend Dotty. So I guess I get 1/2 a point for restraint!

Success!

Yesterday at the Cheesecake Factory I had a small mixed salad and an order of shrimp spring rolls, both from the "Skinnylicious" menu. When it was time for the waiter to take my order for dessert, I told him I just wanted a fork. I had four small, yummy bites of the cheesecakes that everyone else ordered -- one from the fresh strawberry cheesecake, one bite of Oreo cookie cheesecake, and two bites of the triple chocolate cheesecake. That was more than enough to satisfy my sweet tooth and stay within limits.

But I don't want to be tempted again anytime soon...

Today I will exercise for at least 30 minutes. Haven't decided yet how I'll get those minutes, but I will!
