Today I'll be going to my daughter's to plant some more flowers and potted plants around her swimming pool, plus cook and make other preparations for tomorrow's Easter celebration at her home. Last week-end while I was there I didn't drink enough water and got dehydrated. Today I'm going to remember to drink more water!

Yesterday I started out with some leg lifts and bridges before I even got out of bed. Forgot to do that this morning, so I'll get down on the floor later and do some exercising. I always feel like I've accomplished something when I can get back up off the floor without too much effort!

I'll be anxious to see your decorated pots, Judith. I have some herb seeds that my daughter gave me for Christmas, and today I bought some really small clay pots to put them in. Hadn't even occurred to me that maybe I should decorate them. Great idea!

I continue to work on my travel scrapbook, Easter projects, knitting and a project I will be leading our women's group, we are decorating 4 inch pots to plant herbs, I bought all the embellishments and the herbs, basil and oregano will show the pictures when we complete this project... emoticon emoticon emoticon

Got in 30 minutes of exercise yesterday to begin my streak again after totally forgetting to exercise on Saturday.
Today's exercise will make Day 2 for my new streak. I need to concentrate on drinking more water, too.

One of my goals for the past year or so is to practice getting up from the floor. I don't practice everyday, but most days I do. One of the main reasons I started doing this is because after I became a grandmother, I found that there were a lot of times I wanted to get down on the floor to play a game with my grandchildren. Over the years it became increasingly difficult for me to get back up.

Last night I knocked over a glass and it broke to bits when it hit my tile floor. When I moved my arm chair the roller came off the bottom of it, so I had to get down on the floor and lift the chair to fit the roller back into the slot.

It wasn't until later that I realized that it took no extra effort for me to get up and down a few times while cleaning up the glass and fixing the chair. WooHoo! My efforts have paid off! Now I'd better keep practicing!

Almost a full week coming up with lunches with friends. Must stay on track!
Didn't do real well today, but I guess I could have eaten the entire coconut meringue pie by myself instead of splitting it with my friend Dotty. So I guess I get 1/2 a point for restraint!

Success!

Yesterday at the Cheesecake Factory I had a small mixed salad and an order of shrimp spring rolls, both from the "Skinnylicious" menu. When it was time for the waiter to take my order for dessert, I told him I just wanted a fork. I had four small, yummy bites of the cheesecakes that everyone else ordered -- one from the fresh strawberry cheesecake, one bite of Oreo cookie cheesecake, and two bites of the triple chocolate cheesecake. That was more than enough to satisfy my sweet tooth and stay within limits.

But I don't want to be tempted again anytime soon...

Thanks! Until you replied to this, I had completely forgotten that I actually got something done 10 days ago!

Good for you for cleaning out the closet and doing the floors. Those are big jobs! And the accomplishment of getting your quilt off the frame must really feel good, too.

I had a small piece of birthday cake today at my grandson's 10th birthday party, but I watched what I ate all day long and so that didn't "hurt" me any. We've just got to keep these goals foremost in our minds at all times -- whether it's diet, exercise, cleaning the house, or whatever we need to feel better about ourselves.

I've been determined to take regular walks again, at least 4 to 5 days a week. I've been walking around my neighborhood for the past couple of weeks, but today I drove to the city park and walked there. What a nice change in scenery! We've had a change in weather, too, so it was a perfect morning for a walk.

I apologize for not replying to this post earlier.

Yes, some teas are diuretics, though, and depending on which study you read, drinking too much tea may not be good for your body while dieting. That's why I think I should drink more water than tea. But drinking tea is certainly much better than not drinking enough liquids, in my book!

Picklemire -- Yesterday I attended my youngest grandson's 6th birthday party. My goal yesterday was like yours -- stay out of the birthday cake!

Luckily for me, they served yukky-looking cupcakes with gobs of icing that were not appealing to me at all. So at least I met my goal yesterday by not eating the cupcakes.

I have 3 goals 6 out 7 days a week:
1. Drink 80 oz
2. Write down everything I eat
3. Exercise 20 - 30 minutes

I find these goals do-able and keeps me on the right path. I like the Body For Life strategy and in the past I lost 40# total (2004 - 2006) and in the subsequent years I've gained back 20#, which I don't consider too bad, since I'm still 20# ahead. emoticon

I have four I really like and 3 that are OK but need a little something. My 12 inchies are also done but I would like to do more if I have the time. I really enjoyed this.

My goal for the near future is simple. Cut the carbs! Exercise daily and create something beautiful or at least functional. This is a big order but hey... I can do it.

My goal today involves crafts. I am going to finish cutting and punching holes in all my different papers for my book so that I can be ready for tomorrow's last online class on how to bind the book.

I'm going out to eat with friends again tonight. I need to make sure I stay within my calorie range, too. Maybe a wine with my meal, but not a Margarita with salt!
I've been eating fewer and fewer carbs for the past couple of months, and I'm trying to keep limiting those.

This one is in the "More" category.
Every time I allow myself to try out a new computer game, I become addicted. Big time.
During the first week of August my oldest daughter showed me how to play Spider Solitaire. What a mistake to take a peek at that game! I became hopelessly addicted to it, after finally kicking the habit of playing regular Solitaire and Bounce-Out.
Today is Day #7 of not playing Spider Solitaire, and believe me it has been very hard for me to not hit that link. Last night I was especially drawn to play a game (or more, which is the big problem), but I didn't succumb.
So my goal for today, one day at a time, is to resist playing Spider Solitaire.

I've been doing great with my water and have had my 8 glasses everyday since January 1.
Now for the exercising again.
Today I'm going to do 30 minutes on my stationary bicycle.
Yikes! Did I say 30 minutes?! Better get moving!
