I sing Happy Birthday like 12 times trying to hold a plank! So I definitely feel your pain.

You shouldn't fall on your head - though one does look pretty goofy doing the exercise. But I swear doing them really does work the core.

Okay... so I added a core challenge to our team goals section. Anyone is welcome to sign up for the fun emoticon
We were at our max for team goals so I had to delete one. We have several that work the legs and the one I deleted was the jump rope challenge. I didn't look like too many people were tracking that one but if it's one we really want to keep, I can reinstate it if you let me know which one you want deleted in its stead.

So I figure we can really start tracking the goals starting with September. A new month is always fun to start a new tracking challenge. And I don't think it's a too difficult of a challenge so let's all get into shape for the skiing season!!!

Ha ha, I just replied in another thread and said almost the same thing. Great minds think alike!

I am a big fan of the "V" sit. It is evil when you first start, but you can see improvement relatively quickly. To step it up, you can hold a dumbbell or medicine ball and twist side to side.
I'll be attempting your jackknifes tomorrow during my workout -- hopefully I do not end up on my head as sometimes happens with balance exercises!

As the summer winds down for us in the Northern Hemisphere, I was thinking we could get ideas for some team goals. Ski season will be upon us in no time! ! emoticon
So, what does everyone think? What are you personally working on that we all could use?
I know I need to work on my core conditioning so I want to make a goal of doing planks and jack knifes (where the ball is underneath your legs with your arms in the up pushup position and you push your booty up in the air when you bring the ball in closer to your arms) every other day after my workouts (whether I'm doing cardio OR weights that day).
If you have any ideas, I'd love to hear them and then we can get a team challenge going.

Hey fearless team leader,
I'm not sure if the goals are new or if I just saw them, but those are great! Thanks for the motivation!

This is a really good indication and I thank you indeed. Can you think of a stretching sequence we can add as a goal?
I've added something we'll also be able to do in any time of the year, commenting on some other member blogs twice a week. Hopefully it works for all of us, as I think it allows us the possibility of interacting in an easy, non-threatening way.
I hope everybody likes it!!!!

It's got to be hard to come up with goals that work for everyone because ski seasons vary and access to snow/mountains varies for members.

Maybe we could have a goal of doing a certain number the SP recommended sequences for skiiers/boarders. That way people can suit the training to where they are at with their skiing form planning a vacation, getting in shape for the next season, or avoiding injury during the current season.

We could chat about which of the workouts we're doing and why. Right now, I'd like to focus on stretching because I'm working about my knees between heavy skiing and increasing running.

Hi Team,

I've been really rejoicing over some of your blog entries and I'm happy to congratulate you on your success.
Actally, I've realized our Team Goals reproduce our achievements only partially.
I was wondering whether you are all happy/satisfied with the Team Goals, do they really account for our efforts???
Please let me know if you would like to introduce some new goals so as to be more motivated and involved as a team.
Feel free to propose and I'll try to add and/or change what was set as Team Goals.
Keep on sparking', Team!!!! emoticon emoticon
