Hi, I have just found this thread and since I have almost given up on myself and exercise is a dream but not a reality, this sounds good to me. I was wondering if we could just keep this going as I need the inspiration of others to get me moving. Plus, food banks sure could use food all year round! I will not be able to start my walking until Tuesday as I have a sick gs that goes home tomorrow night to his Mom. Plus I still have shopping to do before Saturday! Thanks Jo

THANK YOU!! That's great to hear that from someone. You all just don't know how much this group means to me. No idea. Cool about the cans, too! I just emailed the leaders team thread to ask if theres a way we can track the whole team with the progress of cans. I think that would be great to see how much our team is helping.

I already started my challenge. I have 3 cans of food already in a bag. I guess that is a benefit for the food banks. You are an awesome leader always in contact with us. Thank you so much.

Hey!!! Hope everyone is havin a good day! Been quiet here today. I was thinking about starting our one mile one month challenge on Tuesday. How's that sound to you guys? I'm gonna sit here tonight once I get everyone in bed and figure out how we should track our miles. I read that there's a way to track them as a team so I'm gonna send a question about that over to the leaders team cause that would be great! Cause that's what we are, right? A team. I was thinking that at the end of the challenge, we could all take pics of ourselves with all our bags of cans and post them to our team pics. And well do more challenges for the holidays and can just keep adding pics. You guys feel free to take pics of yourselves or whatever and ill put them in our team pics. There's no photos there and I think its important to celebrate who we are as a team and watch our progress together. Agree? So what about Tuesday? You guys may just have to let me kno by email everytime u finish 5 mls and ill track it til I find out about tracking as a team. It would be nice to have one of those trackers that go up the more cans you get. Hmm.. imma ask about that. You guys would be so proud of yourselves!

I don't do a lot of walking but I exercise at Curves for women for 30 minutes 4 to 5 days a week. i can collect a can for every day I work out. How's that? Would that work? emoticon

I was given this idea by RAINPUDDLE and Beaniegirl. I think we should start a challenge where we walk 5 miles a week. That's 1 mile 5 times a week or broken up into whatever days. At the end of our miles, everyone collects one canned good and puts it in a bag and at the end of the challenge, or whenever, take the bag of cans to a food bank to help others for the holidays. That's so awesome! Me and many other have been single parents at times and not had anything at Thanksgiving and know the importance of donations and helping. Plus, to me personally, I feel that the holidays are about helping others. There's so many people out there who have nothing and in my opinion, as the wife of a Marine who fights for this country, thinks it's sad that ANYONE goes hungry in the United States no matter what their circumstance is. For those of you who can't do the mile, let me know and together, we'll come up with something easier for you to do but you'll still be able to have a goal to reach and can help. Sound good? Hope everyone joins. Perfect chance to get the team going in another direction and to a really good place!
