Everyone is doing so well with this. I almost went for oreos twice last week. Wish I could "clean" out the grocery store down the street. Any suggestions on things that I should get rid of that aren't obviously dirty?

Cleaned out the grandkids snacks and sent them home with them.

New to this site. Super Challenge...I have been eating clean for several years. Sure, I'm Human and slip into old patterns now and then but when I do, I don't punish myself...I just step back, take a deep breathe and Move On. After reading this tread,I was encouraged to check out my pantry. Found a few goodies that Hubby has tucked away for his treats but all in all it was looking pretty CLEAN.Thanks for the encouragement all...

Great thread! I got rid of most of our cereals and kept steel cut McCann's oats (take a half hour to cook!) and granola from our local bakery (all fresh, all healthy and whole). I also got rid of a number of "quick" items because I knew they were processed and had numerous preservatives in them.
Loved the Oreos line!!! I wonder if anyone has something even close to replace that sinful deliciousness!

Bye-bye, Oreos, Mint Chocolate ice cream, tortilla chips and even ketchup.
Replaced by yogurt, sweet potato oven fries, and hummus or salsa. There is no substitute for the deliciousness that is Oreo. You will be missed.

I threw out (or gave away):
chocolate fudge peanut butter fudge butter tarts Nanaimo bars caramel corn coconut chocolate goo for dipping into chocolate fondue Fortunatley I did not any of these things as I was afraid of gluten (or something worse like soy) contamination since these "goodies" were not homemade.
I also got rid of some other stuff since I found out I am sensitive to gluten as well as hypothyroid like:
all kinds of whole grain flours all kinds of condiments & dressings all kinds of crackers all kinds of pasta all kinds of cereals my barley (wah!) all my store bought protein bars
This last holiday, my only real indulgence was some Chocolate Almond Halvah. OMG! That stuff is GOOD! I can't believe how mauch I ate and didn't gain a single pound. (didn't work out for an entire two weeks either. Damn miracle really) Although it is quite high in calories and fat, it is fairly low in carbs... it was kind of pricey but well worth it. A GREAT CHEAT!!!
lol mine stayed clean all season this year except for my hubbies cinnamon buns but I put those done stairs in the freezer...you know out of sight out of mind and it works great.( oh yeah and the birthday cakes we had to make but I only gave into one piece and then everyone else eat it up).
I already did this too! I threw out cookies, gave away some chips and threw out the dip. All that is left is ingredients for homemade larabars, DH's gluten foods I can't have and my clean foods. I can't have the salty snacks around around at all clean or not!

Great Idea...I post soon to let you know what all I get rid of ....but my cupboards are pretty clean for the most part..exept for some of my kids treats, chicken nuggets, stuff like that for my kids...
I keep my frig and pantry pretty clean. The unclean stuff is a few things for my husband and/or my friend who lives with us. They are things that I can't eat and no longer are tempted by them.
If I eat gluten/wheat it feels like I have broken glass going through me for the next week. There is no pizza, lasagna, cake or cookies that can tempt me.
So, I have been eating clean for a year now. You'd think I'd lose some weight!! :o(

Done,,,I also did it this weekend, however, my frig/freezer went out and got a brand new one so it was easy to get rid of all the semi unthawed junk, especially baked stuff. Thanks Laura for the challenge. :)

Done, done, done!! I did this actually just last weekend! i threw out chocolate, potato chips, candy.
In the fridge, I have yogurt, unsweetened frozen berries in my freezer, almond milk, string cheese, unsweetened applesauce, a HUGE variety of fruit in my fruit bowl, I bought some more flax to go in my oatmeal in the morning. Made whole grain waffles for the kiddos and myself to have in the morning.
Lots of delicious, clean wholesome goodies for myself and my kiddos. Now that I am expecting, clean eating is more important to me!

laura - cleaned pantry and threw licorice, assorted chocolates, and carmels. I also moved the popcorn and air popper to the basement, where I hate to go, to discourage myself from high gylcemic - fatty carb snack! Thank you!

Laura - we already did this! Felt great... made my husband throw out the "puppy chow" I made - chex cereal coated in chocolate and peanut butter then covered with powdered sugar (to die for)... we had way too much left over. It killed him!!!! Too funny to see the look on his face. Loved it. House is clean again - except for the few items for the teenager - he gets a few treats. Sheri

I challenge everyone to go through their cupboards, fridge & freezer. Out with the OLD and in with the NEW. Get rid of any leftover Holiday treats. I had frozen goodies in my freezer. It all went up north with my DH's crew. OR, I pitched it in the garbage. Felt GREAT!!! I challenge all of you to do the same. Come back and post! Tell us what you pitched. How it felt. Etc. Look forward to hearing back from you!!!
