I just bought bee pollen granules for our stores (we own 2 gift shops). I'm not putting them out on the shelves though until I do more research on them. They certainly were tasty (sort of like granola) but I want to make sure they are "safe" for our customers. Somewhere I read that folks on blood thinners shouldn't take them before asking their doctors. Of course that's probably true with anything but it's logic we often don't apply, isn't it? LOL Anyway, I have bad allergies and I am hoping that these might help (no allergy to bees though....just scents and environmental stuff). I also notice via my SP tracker that I rarely get enough proten and carbs (yep...too much fat in my diet so it's been sort of fun trying to change that around). Anyway, I'm thinking the bee pollen might help with that. Any feedback from folks who use bee pollen? I'd like to hear your thoughts.....postive and negative, if any. Either post here or PM me:-) THANKS!

Love this! I am going to do this. I noticed you were taking it in capsule form. It recommended not to do that because it lost some of its benefits. Even if you don't feel anything different the overall benefits working on the inside of your body are there, and it said something about 6 months of taking it, so don't expect to have this big burst of energy from it, it'll be a more natural energy that we need. This makes me want to raise bees! and make a garden for them. I used to have a hummingbird garden.

Thankyou for sharing this wonderful knowledge!

Katherine

Thanks so much for the reviews/info on bee pollen! I recently heard about it and at first I was like WHAT??? But I'm sooo curious. I'm introducing more and more healthy foods into my diet and creativity is king! So emoticon

I found that the bee pollen was great. The bee pollen in capsules gave me severe stomach cramps after taking for a couple of weeks.
If you can tolerate bee pollen the health benfits are certainly great.

Are you still taking the bee pollen? Any noticable benefits? I have some that I got from a local health food store, but er, 'not so much'. I wonder if I should give it another try?

Woohoo, I did it. I tasted the bee pollen and survived. I'll have to add it to my oatmeal in the AM. Stay tuned!

Some pollen tastes better than others. It depends on where the bees are from and what type of flowers/p[lants they collected the pollen from.
My pollen was actually quite sweet. Nice tasting at first. After a while it started to make my stomach kinda turn... it's funny stuff. If you can get past the taste of it, it is really good for you.

I wouldn't have thought to look in the refrigerated area. Thanks for that. I think I need to go to my local health foods store without my daughter so I have time to see what they have instead of the rush in, rush out.

I bought it at the health food store (across the street from me)
It needs to stay refridgerated... the pollen i bought tastes quite nice. A little sweet. It dissolves quite easily in my yogurt this morning. I took a wjole teaspoon... I do feel fairly energetic also! LOL!

Can I ask where you are getting the bee pollen from? Trader Joes or some place like Whole Foods? I know Tosca said if you don't like the taste, taking it in capsules was OK.

Thanks!

Yes. It says that in her book. But in the same book, in the sample meal plans it is NOT everyday. I'm sooo confused now.
I'm going to the TOSCA RENO FORUMS. Maybe I will find an answer there!

I remember reading somewhere that Tosca says she eats oatmeal with bee pollen and flax almost every morning. I need to remember where I saw that...

I'm going to buy some soon to see how it works for me. Keep us updated!

Well. I took my bee pollen today... I only took a 1/2 tsp. I am wondering if I should take more.
I DO feel good; maybe not EUPHORIC, but good. I do have lots of energy.
Not sure if I feel much different than any other day, though. LOL!

I'm gonna do some more reading about BEE POLLEN and see if I should be taking more.
When i look at all the CLEAN EATING sample menus, they only have it listed for breakfast TWO days out of the week. TOSCA's books as well as CLEAN EATING magazine... Also, they they recommend 2 TABLESPOONS! So,... hmmm

PS. The pollen I have tastes very nice. It's a little bit sweet. Not BITTER at all!

I look forward to seeing what you find out about this. I knew Tosca used it, but wasn't sure what the health benefits were. I remember as a very young child that my mom used to sell Shakley vitamins. (I think that was the name of the company.) The main point is that I can remember her biggest seller was the Bee Pollen supplements. So it's been around for quite awhile.

I have heard so many great things about it. But Tosca says to take two tablespoons. I'm thinking that may be too much, at least to start with. I've read that I should start with 1 teaspoon.
It has been known to rid men of prostate cancer, alleviate diabetic complications, and give athletes great energy and sense of well being.
It is taken by many centenarians. It can help in prevention of heart attacks and help to lower blood pressure (something I must keep my eye on)
It is also a COMPLETE food.
There is also much more info. I'm very interested. I'm gonna keep reading about it...

I took bee pollen back in '96 when I was expecting my second baby. Mom got it for me because I had massive cravings for red meat. I remember it helping. My baby weighed over 9lbs (the first one was only 6lbs); I don't know whether to blame or thank the bee pollen.
