I made the split pea and root vegetable soup last night and it was the best I've every had! I did modify a little on the veggies, using what I had on hand (carrots,celery,onion,and cilantro only) Even the kids liked it, once they got past the color LOL.
I was a little confused on the serving size. It said 8 servings so I thought that it was probable a one cup serving. I decided I better measure out the whole pan and had about 11 cups....so I don't know. I ate one cup. Why can't they just put the serving size on recipes in addition to the number of servings??

I finally got around to making the "shepherd's pie". It is SO good!! I will be making that one again. I'm going to make some hummus with the leftover chickpeas. I also made the protein bars yesterday. They're pretty good too. I love my new cookbook!
I love her cottage cheese pancakes! I was kinda nervous about making these but they came out great. I noticed that she has different recipes for this in different books so I'm not sure which version I used. It is the recipe that uses oats, not flour.

Tonight I'm going to make "Shepherds Pie without the Sheep". It'll be the first recipe I've made out of Tosca Reno's cookbook. It looks soooo good! My husband won't like it though. Too bad for him; more for me! Anyone have any favourites out of that cookbook?
