I've also noticed that since I started doing the SS bootcamp and have "added video to my workout for today", it's actually added it for the following "same day of the week". (if that makes sense)......so like two Mondays ago I did the lower-body resistance band and added it to my workout.... this Monday it was already there. If you don't do it don't check it. If you want it gone, you can go into your fitness settings and remove it.

If you choose to have SP generate your strength training plan for you, sometimes different videos are included in that plan on your fitness page. If you are doing your own exercises you can go to your start page and under "My Goals", click beside your calories burned goal. On that page you can choose to not have SP generate your strength training plan and log your own as you go.

Sorry if this has been asked elsewhere...

When I log in to the site and go to my fitness plan, sometimes there are "user entered" videos already listed for that day. I do all my fitness the day OF so I'd never go back and add videos for different days. I never check them off, so I don't record false information. But I was wondering if this happens to anyone else?

MAKINOFASTAR! Something else you might be interested in, I had a email convo going on with Denise as the video yesterday was terribly hard on my knees. She told me that we should do what we can and if any video or part of the video is painful, to try any other video that concentrates on the same body area.
And the entry of the specific video or exercise isn't as important as doing it and putting it on the "other goals" page.
MLD4U2, don't EVER think that you're "stupid". It's extremely unkind of others to try to correct you when they don't know where you might be coming from. I totally agree, "don't get so uptight".
RICHLADY39, thanks so much for mentioning the eyesight piece. I've been in exactly the same position and am ever so grateful to the people who adjusted to try to help me out during a really tough time.
And, I have to say it, I believe we all just got a "new topic" reminder to remember that with several thousand members, (I didn't believe it so I looked and this team is close to 1.5 mil today!!!) we have to remember we're all at different levels of understanding...............

Two sets is just the default setting on SP so when you add the video it automatically puts that in even though you're really only doing one set. Just ignore the number of sets and reps.

You aren't given calories burned for strength training because it's too difficult to come up with a number since there are so many variable to consider. The amount of weight you're lifting, the intensity of your workout, age, weight, etc. Strength training does not burn very many calories anyways. You would surprised at how few. The benefits are in building muscle with makes your metabolism run faster. You are given credit toward your fitness minutes though. For each strength training exercise you get 5 minutes toward your fitness minutes. You won't notice the total on your fitness page, but you will notice the number under My SparkAmerica Fitness Minutes go up when you add strength training.

You need to put a "CHECK" mark in the box to the left when you go to the section for "Cardio & Strength" the rest of the info will be there....I think.

As for the "all caps" I understand the other gals remark I was told a long time ago that "all caps" can indicate that someone is "yelling". I was on another website a while back and everyone was putting their posts in "all caps" I mentioned the "yelling" thing and received a response saying that one of the people reading these posts had a severe problem with her eyes, so these people were helping her out by typing in all caps so she could read the posts and stay in the loop.

I no longer pay much attention to the size of the type unless I am having an on-going conversation w/someone in my "normal daily emails" and then I might have to put my message in "all caps, bold, RED and highlighter" then I will be getting my message across..

So lets put this in perspective - how important is it!!!

When you track strength training you aren't tracking calories or time, I have read that in several SP articles, that is why there isn't a calorie or time count. I know that sounds not right but that is what they say. It tracks that you have done the video and it will change your fitness minutes by just adding it.

SORRY, GEEZ, I AM AT WORK, MY COMPUTER STAYS ON ALL CAPS, MAYBE I AM EXCITED NOT YELLING. don't be so up tight. emoticon

i know that it tracks it in the strength section, but it does not tell me calories burned or min worked out or the number of reps for anything i have done. as i said in my earlier post, am i doing it wrong or just not understanding how to track it in the strength section. emoticon

Please don't use all caps, it reads like you are yelling.
You track the videos on your Strength Traning portion of your fitness page, not the cardio portion unless you have done your 30 minutes of some sort of cardio.

WHEN I CLICK THE ADD TO YOUR FITNESS TRACKER AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE IT DOES NOT ADD ANY REPS OF ANYTHING. I DO NOT KNOW THE NUMBER OF REPS OR ANYTHING I JUST DO THE VIDEO. I HAVE BEEN JUST GOING TO "CARDIO" AND PUTTING IN SP 10-MIN BOOTCAMP SO IT AT LEAST GIVES ME SOME KIND OF MIN IN MY TRACKER AND SOME CALORIES BURNED. AM I DOING SOMETHING WRONG WHEN I CLICK THE ADD BUTTON? I DID NOT THINK I WAS CONFUSED BUT NOW I THINK I AM. emoticon

However, this is what it says at the bottom of the page for todays video.

You can pause or rewind the video at any time if you need a break or need to watch for closer instructions. We suggest watching the video one time through before attempting the workout.

This workout will take you through one set (8-15 repetitions) of each exercise. If you want to do more sets, simply replay the video until you finish 2-3 sets. You can also break up these sets into multiple, short workouts throughout your day, provided that you warm-up each time.

This video does not include music, but you can play a stereo or CD in the background as you workout. Just make sure you can still hear the instructions.
To play the video, simply click on the Play button (bottom left corner) to start. Below the video screen, you'll find buttons for Pause, Stop, and volume control.


I've done the video twice a couple of times this week to do 2 sets. They're real short anyway.

I looked through previous posted message and didn't see an answer to my question... maybe I missed it. Anyway, when I log the video into my fitness tracker it says Two sets of 12-15 reps. Does this mean we should be doing the video two times?
