Hummmmmm there are so many things I love about being a NON-SMOKER
The main things are as follows:

1) Not being so darn dependant on such a bad thing
2) Being Healthier, I no longer cough, weeze, get out of breath doign simple tasks etc
3) No longer smelling like an ashtray
4) Knowing I will live a longer healthier life because of this decision to "kick the habit"

This is a fantastic topic - The responses are wonderfully positive!

There are literally hundreds of reasons I love being a non-smoker; many have already been listed here. To add -- I love that I'm finally over my rebellious stage and am now a part of society again. I love that I'll never again shiver in the cold, in the rain, in the snow - just to feed my addiction. I love that other gym members stay on the elliptical next to me, instead of immediately jumping off because I reek of smoke (embarrassing!!!). I love that whitening toothpaste actually whitens my teeth now! I love that I've taken control of my life and have made a conscious effort to reclaim my health. I love that every single day I walk with pride, knowing that I am stronger than the addiction.

RIP Daddy - you're my inspiration.

Quitting smoking has given me the confidence to lose weight. I now know that I can change the things about myself that I don't like! And being a non-smoker is making exercise SO much easier! I can actually breathe, and I'm seriously out of shape! I can't wait to see what breathing is like once I drop some weight! LOL

Saving TONS of money, being able to work out much harder, not being crabby when I don't have one, not smelling like a smoke shop, not needing one when I drink, and being more attractive to the opposite sex...the list goes on and on!

Love the way you put that - added on many years to my life so that I may irritate all those that I love even longer. So true!

I never thought I would be so excited to be a non-smoker but there's so many little things I love. I don't constantly have to stop at the gas station and buy cigerettes. I don't worry if I will be somewhere for long that doesn't have smoking. I don't have to stand outside in the 100 degree Texas heat just to get some nicotine. I smell better. I have more energy. I can taste things. I can smell things (which is not always good). I'm saving money...like A LOT :)!! The thing I love the most? I've added on many years to my life so that I may irritate all those that I love even longer.

OMG..there are so many things that I love about being a Non Smoker now! One is more energy. I felt like I was living in a fog of always being tired. NO more...woo hoo!! Everything smells better, tastes better, I don't smell. And everything else that every one has said...It is AWESOME to be a non smoker. I wish I would have done it years ago!!

I forgot to mention that I look younger and healthier, and the creases around my mouth from smoking are fading a lot.

I agree with Junebug.... the "I DID IT!!!" is larger than life as there was a part of me that began to believe I would never be free of the addiction. It has been 3 years July 1st and I a still patting myself on the back regularly!!!

All is well.

I have several that top the list. I think No. ONE is being able to say "I did it!!" Then, the return of my ability to smell and taste. PlusI don't seem to have that hole ibn my budget any more.

I feel so many things. I feel healthier, have more money, I smell better, I don't have the shame, can run or bike as hard as anyone, and so on. I think about all these great things whenever the urge to smoke hits me, which isn't very often any more.
