Hmmm ... borscht is basically beet soup ... usually a staple at any Russian meal. Often special homemade periogies are on the menu and you can ask what fillings are offered (may contain potatoes, cheese, cabbage etc.) Kielbasa (may have other name) is like a bratwurst type sausage. Cabbage in various forms ... cabbage rolls. Veal and lamb. Does the restaurant you are going to have a website. Often they have their menus posted online and you can get your bearings before going.
This is just a really really vague idea but I'm thinking, if you just start with a couple of shots of vodka, maybe you won't notice the calories ??? lol
