I received and set up my new Spark Tracker and logged 41 minutes workout at the pool for over 6000 steps. Along with day 12 of a detox diet, I'm feeling very healthy!!

And now, since it's evening and cooled off, I'm heading out for a walk.

Well, let's see...I got a really good night's sleep last night and I read an encouraging blog today! I've been on vacation and eating has been a bit off these last few days, but I'm not beating myself up and I'm looking forward to getting into a more normal routine these next couple of weeks. I HAVE been exercising (200 really good minutes this week)...didn't today.

I really didn't feel like exercising this morning, but once I started I was feeling good enough to do an extra five minutes: 50 minutes on my elliptical machine today. I always have to laugh at how that happens; never really *want* to exercise, but always glad I did.

A good, brisk walk this morning before the sun came up (whoa, that was some wind!)

I kept it to just a quarter of a pretty large muffin (yummy)...someone brought treats in to work today. The rest of it was happily shared by others.

I walked this morning (75 minutes) and when an unexpected offer of free pizza came at lunchtime I opted for the healthier lunch I had packed instead.

Same here. Ate light for breakfast, brown bagged it for lunch, drank fluids, and got in a walk.

brought my lunch, planned a walk at lunch and also set a time with my running buddy for tonight's practice run.

I ordered one of the new Spark Activity Trackers the middle of September. It arrived and I have been using it. Today, I reached the goal of 100,000 steps in September. Amazing!! Considering I had only 8 days to do it in.

The little thing goes crazy when you reach your step goal for the day. A ring of lights light up green and flash at you. It's like having your own silent cheerleader.

Ate a very healthy breakfast and lunch. Breakfast was scrambled eggs with bacon bits and 5 vegetables. Lunch was a tossed salad with chicken breast pieces.

I've walked at 6:00 a.m. yesterday and today. 2.5 miles yesterday. 1.5 miles today. It had rained during the night both days so it was easy to work up a sweat, even that early, but still better than waiting until the sun came up!!

Another walk and swim is planned for tonight, but it's storming and we're under a severe weather/flood watch from the storm right now. We'll see. Probably healthier to stay in the house.

I tried a new route for my run, and successfully completed my first work out of week 3 of my Couch 2 5K program!

Goals & Rewards:
Reaching goal weight = new haircut
Completing C25K = new sneakers

SB3872004, I'm so glad to hear from you! That slow and steady weight loss is great for your health!

George, what an enjoyable, healthy way to spend a Sunday!

When I was younger, I had a totally different idea of what healthy meant, and all those ideas centered around what I though was boring tasteless food. Exercise didn't figure in.

So today, I took steps to switch from drinking four 16 ounce glasses of water, to eight 8 oz. glasses of water, minimum. And since I already have the habit established of getting up out of my chair, I'll be doubling that movement. AND I've set the task to move at least 2 minutes doing a variety of exercises before I get the water, and return to the recliner, or my desk.

Today was the first day, and it has worked like a charm. 19 extra un planned minutes of movement, spread throughout the day. My thyroid doesn't know what's happening!

I have eaten within my calorie range even though I couldn't work out as much this week and still lost a pound :o).

My food plan is Not low-carb, but I stuck with my eating plan for Dr. Fuhrman's 3 steps to Incredible Health. I also got through the hour long tabata pool workout at the Wellness Center. They do a lot with the foam barbells there, under the water. I just looked down at my arms and actually can see my biceps. Don't know if we'll ever see my triceps, but I am building muscle and getting rid of fat. emoticon

Today i ate fruit and vegetable salad, full of micronutrients and antioxidants. And afterwards, i walked a mile in downtown hilly Murphy, NC. I can feel my cholesterol clearing out while I'm typing!!

I like your focus on a healthy lunch. There are some blogs here for a description of breakfast. The only thing I haven't seen is the healthy dinner blog. For now we can have one meal a day to go crazy.

We are the Healthy Lunch Club. That probably means that we are looking for ways to have a healthy lunch. Could mean getting in a 10 minute workout during lunch.
