For the month of January I've been taking part in (my church s') annual prayer & fast. For the first 14 days it was no meat, bread & cake, soda pop or snacks. Water, fruit and fish with only one heavey meal per day was allowed. It is now a total fast on Wednesdays. I did very well and I'm very proud of myself .I can see & feel the results,with only a few more days to go the blessings that will follow will be there for all to see.

"There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able ; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that you may be able to bear it (1 Cor. 10: 13)

Laura - Well done, not easy to do. You now have a success to be able to build on!!!!

I bet that frozen yogurt tasted good......you earned it!

Keep up the good work. emoticon

No foods with high fructose corn syrup, sugar, rice syrup, corn syrup, fructose, sucrose etc. in the first three ingredients.

No foods that have more than 3 ingredients that I can not pronounce.

If an item has more than 10 ingredients it is too processed, I will not eat or buy the item.

I, like many here, have trouble with the weekends. I always overeat, or eat things I know I shouldn't (*coughcoughfastfoodcoughough*)
But this weekend was different. Not only did I avoid all temptations of that glorious oh so bad for me and my tummy fast food, I also tracked all my foods! AND stayed in my calorie ranges! All in one weekend! I don't know that that's ever happened before. I'm so excited!
My trick: I treated lunch like I was at work. I ate what I would have if I was at work, and no more. I felt full (none of that phantom weekend hunger here!) and satisfied with myself. For dinner, I just ate what we had. Last night I ruined dinner, and said to hubby let's just go to Subway. At least a healthy choice, right? I changed my mind, realized what I was doing, and threw some fish in the oven and veggies in the microwave. Healthy, satisfying dinner and room alloted for some frozen yogurt.
Go me!
