MB, yeah, I sort of fell out of the loop after my father passed away last fall. Didn't run outside of a marathon for like almost four months due to the depression. Then spent 3 months with generalized running/getting back into shape and started "officially" training again in April. Focusing on shorter race distances for now while I rebuild mileage, targeting back to 75 mpw (at 10 lbs less than where I am now) by end of December or Jan and another marathon maybe April/May.

Wow! I am encouraged by your recovery story. My tear wasn't terrible, either and I had no pain at first. 3 days post-op I felt so good I walked close to a mile. From the day after that, the pain has been back almost to what it was pre-op. The doc said not to "baby it" and I am not- so here's hoping it just needs a little more time. I took the liberty of visiting your spark page and I can see how your can-do spirit would have you going after a 5K so quickly. Good For You!

I am hoping that my pain subsides by my Friday post-op follow up visit. Maybe then, I'll adjust that goal.

Readingace, I am 10 days post-op. My knee is still swollen, but I've been biking and walking. My knee is healing quickly, and I plan to run a 5K this coming weekend. My tear wasn't horrible, so basically they just shaved it and trimmed it up a little, and removed a bunch of bone fragments that were floating around in there. My knee actually feels better now than before the surgery, even though it's still swollen. I hope your knee heals quickly :-)

I want to run- any amount at all!
I'll be doing physical therapy for post arthroscopic surgery for a torn meniscus.
If I can run a mile before the end of the month I will call it a success.

My goals for September are: run a decent 8K trail race on the 14th, try to be more consistant about my hip exercises for my bursitis and continue to work in my new Vibram Bakila running shoes.
