I can't believe I did this. I picked up a bug (and knew it yesterday), was running a small fever this morning and decided to run anyway. I was supposed to do 9 but I knew full well that wasn't in the cards. Hopefully I'll be feeling better tomorrow.

I am going to have to reassess my goals for the next HM on my schedule. Each week I manage to exceed my tempo run goals and then some. The original pace I had set in my training for this week was 7:20 but I've been letting the training on the tempo be dictated by how my body is willing to perform. After setting a 7:25 pace the first week then a 7:10 pace last week (2nd week of training), I was hoping to hit a 7:05 pace this week and wasn't really feeling like that was in the cards before I headed out this morning. So this came as a COMPLETE surprise and also leaves me wondering what I'll be able to do in two weeks on my next tempo run (next week is an "easy" week). Since my goal is simply to get faster with each run, I'll shoot for a 6:50 but who knows? Maybe it will be better? This pace is already faster than my HM pace by 2 seconds per mile. :-) If training continues like this I may set my goal from a 6:45 pace to a 6:30 pace for the HM. Anyway, thought I'd throw the paces up there too:
7:03, 6:51, 6:52, 7:04, 6:52, 7:05, 6:52, 6:44. I'd be concerned about the seeming inconcistincies in the paces but when geography is taken into account, the miles make complete sense, believe me. :-)

Well, it's been a very slow start to December since I fell on my knee a few weeks ago. It is STILL very sore and bruised, so I'm trying to take it easy.
