Did really well food wise yesterday, even after band practice. Threw some chicken breasts ont he George Foreman grill and sliced them up with lettuce, tomato & salad dressing and put in low calorie, high fiber, high protein flat out roll ups. They were really good and since they were high fiber & protein when we went out with the band later, we weren't even the slightest bit hungry! We ordered tea and diet coke only. emoticon

Went to Curves yesterday morning then of course played the bagpipes last night, so workout wise went very well yesterday. Didn't make it to bed until after midnight, so didn't make it to Curves this morning. I still went three times this week, so it's good and I'll play the pipes again tonight for some more cardio. I'm on track to stay within my calorie range today, so it should still be a good day.

Tomorrow will be more of a challenge at the picnic, but with so many spark people looking on I have a feeling I'll do just fine!

This is such a busy month for me, which is going to be hard because I was doing so well with my exercise last month. Next week is VBS and the following week we leave for fiddle camp. I will take my walking shoes and pedometer and hope it's not too hot (eastern WA). I know that I need to work out at least 60 min. a day in order to lose weight, but I just haven't been able to get to that point.

No one has posted for awhile and Colette is still gone, so I thought I'd hopefully restart this! My goal is to go to Curves more than three times a week and not eat after dinner. I tend to just snack away in the evenings, which has really hindered my weight loss. I did okay last night, no snacking. I kept busy with yard work, bagpiping and sparking! I found a crochet project that I need to finish, it will make a nice Christmas gift for our grandson-a stuffed dog.

Tonight is band practice. Normally we'd go to a pub afterwards, but we're coming home this evening. We try not to eat too much before going since playing on a full stomach is never a good thing. I'm thinking of eating a chicken wrap before we go and a salad afterwards. That should still be good for calories and nutrition.

I hope everyone else is doing well. Feel free to check in!

Hello everyone! Not doing too well on exercise this week, other than here & there. Usually I go to Curves before work, but stayed home late to keep an eye on DH on Monday & Tuesday as he wasn't feeling well, went to Curves on Wednesday, stayed home to adopt out Jasper on Thursday morning, and then had to stay home this morning. I'm trying to fit in squates and leg lifts, wall pushups & punches whenever I can.

I ate a half banana & some baby carrots before we left for the all fried food bar/pub last night. I ate a chicken breast, without the skin but did indulge in some fried okra. It was so good! I did restrain myself and not go overboard, so overall I did better than I usually would have.

I'm hoping to take the dogs on a walk tomorrow morning before it gets too hot. We don't have a foster dog at the moment, so it will be just our four, a nice change!

Have a nice weekend everyone!

Since I seem to be shying away from regular exercise, yesterday I looked at the clock and figured I had 45 minutes until dark, so I went out to garden. Hopefully, I'll get the GKs out and we can log some more fitness minutes planting the marigold seeds.
emoticon

Yesterday I was over for calories. It was either the 4 Carmel Delite girl scout cookies or the half-bag of my daughter's curly fries from Arby's. Not too bad. Michaela has half-days from school this week, so conveniently she gets out just in time for lunch. And because I'm running errands with her, we go out to eat. I pack baby food, so everyone's covered. I think today is Taco Bell because it's outside the mall. She has a return, and it's the start of VS's semi-annual sale. This time I packed the carriage!!

I did better last week than I had been doing previously. I even got that little message on my fitness tracker that says you need to eat enough calories (not that I have a problem with that). Rode my bike, did some kickboxing, mowed the yard... I like variety in my workouts.

Hi everyone! Congratulations on all the exercise and staying on track. I struggled last week. I managed to walk several days and only ate out of my range a couple of times but having company really through me off. I am picking up the pieces today and starting over:) Right now I am trying to convince myself to get off my duff and do aerobics but may opt out and take G for a fast walk instead because we have decent temperatures and clouds today.

Here's to a better week and to continued success for the rest of you who really do seem to be on track! YES!!!

I'm back from the conference and I am tired! I did a ton of walking every day I was gone. And I did quite a bit of dancing at night.

I'm looking forward to some walking with Jolie tonight.

This week was average for calories. Stayed within range. The last few days I've been having cold flavored oatmeal as part of my lunch. Makenzie hasn't been finishing her breakfast, and I figured oatmeal is good for me, and filling. So I supplement that with fruit & veggies, as well as the yogurt I split with her. Also, I just had snacked on a little of the Marshmallow Icing Choc Cake by Entenmann's. Just enough for a taste.

I was doing gardening as my exercise. Two days ago, I had 90 minutes, and yesterday 2 1/2 total in the morning. I was weeds and putting in the scalloped, brick border. But later, the small of my back started hurting. I hate when it goes out. I walked the mall with DD in spite of how stupid I probably looked, carrying Makenzie because I forgot the carriage.

I hope it doesn't take the week average until it is better. It happens about twice a year, for really no apparent reason. And mysteriously, one day it is just better. There seems to be nothing I can do to make it better. Just wait. I'll have to take it easy, and select my exercise wisely. (Anything will be better than carrying that car seat with Makenzie in.)

Went to Curves the past three days in a row, had band practice last night and will walk again tomorrow morning with our local spark group. Blew the calories last night at a pub that we go to after practice-mentioned to DH that we need to start splitting meals & he agreed! That will definitely help save on those calories. I hope that everyone has a great weekend!!

I did three hours of driving on Fri. (yea, I know, pretty lame exercise). However, I also played in the pool with Amy when we got to Portland. I tried to see how long I could tread water, and then I chased her around the pool. Sat., I think I burned a lot of calories just being nervous for Amy, but I can't find a category for that on Sparkpeople. Yesterday, I got a huge cardio (and strength) workout from mowing through my 9-in. grass. I had to stop and empty the bag after every row. Pretty sweaty work in our "hot" 71 degrees. Ha ha. Today it's raining and 60.

Lisa: Good job on sticking with that P90X! I know it's not an easy program.

Hi, Super hectic weekend, so not much in the way of exercise. But I made sure I got the 12 jumping jacks and 100 trampoline bounces in. Calorie count was good, except Saturday. I guess that pop tart wasn't really necessary at 200 calories.

Today I took the GKs for a walk to CVS/Wendy's and back, so that's a mile. And then we gardened for half an hour, so if I don't get anything else in today, 60 minutes is still good.
(But not as impressive as my buddy Ella's weekend exercise! ) emoticon

Hi Lisa! I'm here, sore from gardening and getting ready to check in with Colette. I ate pretty well this weekend and definitely got in my exercise with 90 minutes of gardening yesterday (planted 120 bedding plants) as well as playing the bagpipes for a graduation and practicing. It's back to Curves tomorrow for me. I was too sore to go today! I hope everyone else is doing well.

So far so good for staying on track with food. Did jumping jacks today in the bathroom at work-luckily for me it's a huge bathroom! They felt really good. I think because at Curves there's only one machine that puts your hands over your head and of course with jumping jacks you're lifting your arms with each repetition. I've done them twice so far. I only did them once yesterday, so I'm improving.

I'll be in the gardening spirit this weekend with Colette when I put in some bedding plants around the house. I usually plant impatiens beside the house as it's shaded then we put in a weeping cherry tree out front with a ring of bricks that I plant flowers in. I have bulbs in there as well for the spring. I'll do this on Sunday as most of Saturday will be taken up with playing for a graduation at a local university. Then of course we'll go out to a pub to eat and visit. We really love our band! I'll have to think about the food choices of course. They have the best sweet potato fries there, I know, they're not good for you fixed that way, but they're so delicious. They also have a great Shepherd's pie, but I don't know the nutritional stats on anything and since they're considered a pub they're not listed anywhere. I'll figure something out. To stay accountable I'll let you know what I decided on!

I'm doing fine with the calories. It's so hot, it's easy to not eat. Still gardening to get my exercise. GKs and I were out the last 2 days in the morning weeding. Supposed to be 78 today with a breeze, so gardening can wait until this afternoon. Yesterday I had prolonged energy. Wish I could figure out why so I could have that all the time! I just went with it, and did little chores around the house.

With the new challenge, I will do jumping on the mini trampoline (I did buy it for my GD, but I'll use it this month). Three weeks makes a habit, so hopefully it will be second nature by then. I also did jumping jacks with her. It's pathetic how winded I got. That can only improve through the month.

Makenzie has been fussy eating lately. I mostly make her fruited oatmeal for breakfast. Sometimes that becomes part of my lunch. LoL. I track it, and it is good for me.

Yesterday and today I did fine with the calories. But the two days before when Ella said she was within calorie range, I ate her extra calories. DH has been working a lot of overtime, and after running daughter to dance and friends, I was lonely and a little depressed. I thought about it, but got out the box of Cheez-Its anyway.

emoticon

It all started earlier in the day. You all are making healthy smoothies. I had gotten mangoes cheap, so I thought I would make a good one. Blackberries, mangoes, peach yogurt, whey protein powder, and ice. But after I drank it (it was good), I tracked it. 782 calories!! Plus that was the day for my bigger breakfast - 482 calories. With a little for supper, I was over. A lot. That started the depression. So I ate. I know it does, but I thought, what does it matter now anyway. I'll start over tomorrow. I'm over anyway.

I haven't had one of those days for a while. So long as it's not often, it'll take a little longer to get to my goal.

emoticon

Got lots of exercise the last two days with gardening. (I'm ignoring that I should be working on the bootcamps). My front corner is almost done. And it looks GOOD. After years (literally) of weeds and cactus, I am so glad to have that area cleaned up. And my neighbors are commenting on it, too. My next door neighbor especially likes my mini solar powered gazing ball that changes color in the dark.

Going back to Home Depot tomorrow to buy more mulch, and plant bedding flowers in front. Otherwise, taking it easy this holiday weekend. Catching up on rest! emoticon

i wish you luck with the junk food resistance. i'm resisting the brownies i made dh. they smell really good, but not as good as the 4 days left to the year with out junk food!! pretending they are not sitting on the bar ....lol!!!

had to edit, forgot to post... lisa is doing a rest day. i'm proud of her for taking the day off with her allergies interfering with exercise. we need to take good care of ourselves too.
i got the bike in today.

Three hours at the pool with a 4- and 6-year old earlier today. I'm about to drop but I promised we'd go back this afternoon.

My challenge to is stay away from all the junk food my brother keeps in his house!

y'all are doing great with your exercise and food....yay for all of you!!
julie since your not on the no junk food challenge you are doing great with the reese's by using moderation. you are so good with that.

julie you should have worn your pedometer during the test !!

ella, julie gave the best advice. i eat small amounts of all the foods i want so i don't overeat. that way you get to have some of it all.
i am having watermelon and fruit smoothies for ice cream to fill me up after the barbecue. you'll do just wonderful!!

Lisa: You are amazing with your consistency! Good job on sticking with that program. You must be seeing some nice muscle definition by now.

Athena: It's funny - you exercise indoors to stay out of the heat and I exercise indoors to stay out of the cold rain!

Ella: Good luck this weekend! I'm sure you'll do fine. Just remember, if something looks really good, usually just a couple of bites will satisfy. At potlucks, picnics, etc., I just take a bite-sized portion of lots of things. Well, not so much now that I have to be gluten-free. Now I only get plain meat, green salad, and fruit. You'd think I'd be skinny already, wouldn't you?

Debra: You remain my inspiration. Sigh. I can pass up the salty stuff like chips, but the sugar is always my downfall. I bought a couple of dark chocolate Reese's the other day and are they ever good! (But still junk food.)

I wish there were a way to count two days of keeping 12 second-graders under control while walking around giving them an SAT test. At least I know I burned some calories!

Doing well with exercise and haven't eaten the past two evenings outside of my calorie range so things are going well. My big test is coming up-the weekend!! This is when I need extra reinforcements as it's when I usually cave in and don't log my food. My goal is to sign on and log everything and stay within my range. Wish me luck!!

Still not really eating but I did find a great program On Demand through my cable provider. 47-minute video of cardio, toning and strength training. I am really excited to have found it because it allowed me to stay in the air conditioning!

I don't have anything productive to post but I'm trying to keep up on the accountability part of this.

I don't know if I had a relapse from the food poisoning a week ago but yesterday I was sick again. After work I crawled into dh's recliner and stayed there until bedtime. Still staying within calorie ranges but that's easy to do when you can't eat.

UGH!!! I just did the disappearing post trick after finishing my response. This will be the shorter, RSV....

I copped out on exercise today so need to double up on strength and cardio tomorrow. It looks like the rest of you are doing a great job! WooHoo!

Ella... Take care of the shoulder. Do you know what happened? I had issues with my rotator cuff a few months ago but it is fine again now.

Debra...I'm with you. I can't seem to remember to post here but then I can't remember much of anything:)

I haven't heard from Becky in a couple of days so I hope all is well. I am sure it is, she is a busy lady!!!

Have a great Thursday everyone!!

Hello All! I didn't go to Curves today-my shoulder is really bothering me. I don't know if I overdid it at Curves yesterday or just slept in an odd position last night. I thought I'd better rest it a day. I'll be back at Curves tomorrow.

Lisa, I didn't have string chesse, but I did have lowfat Sharp Cheddar sticks at 90 calories that I ate last night and it did the trick. I also picked up some greek yogurt. I think I'm going back to Sams and pick up the 12 pack. DH doesn't like the peach or strawberry, which I do, so I know I'll have those to enjoy! Since there's more protein in them they "stick" with me more.

With the bad storms coming in DH picked up a supreme pizza at Sams yesterday. I only ate two pieces and picked off all the sausage. The crust was very thin & crispy so I really don't think it was too bad. It was mostly veggies, which is fine with me!

I hope that everyone has a successful day!

Hey Colette-Way to Go!! Yay for you losing another pound!!!! I haven't stepped on the scale in awhile. I keep sabotaging myself-but my clothes are fitting better, so something's going on. A top I bought last summer is actually almost too big for me now.

I went to Curves this morning. I wasn't up to it yesterday morning as I think I was still recovering from Saturday. At least the sinus headaches are gone-yay!

It sounds like everyone is doing really well. I'll get there, thanks to everyone & Colette!!!

A little gardening and elliptical done yesterday. Then felt guilty so I did a 1 mile with Leslie and 10 bootcamp video, both at 11 PM. Surprised that scale went down another pound again. Not ready to call it though. Definitely heading in the right direction. Yay!

Calories within range. Even with a Tastykake 2 pack (Black and White Krimpets- choc cake, vanilla icing and filling). For those of you who don't get Tastykakes, you are really missing something. My sister moved to Arkansas, and she actually found somewhere to buy the butterscotch krimpets and peanut butter Tandykakes.

It may take a little longer to lose weight, but I am not restricting myself any foods, I just have to log it.

I did another 40 minutes yesterday and stayed within calorie range. Not seeing any change on the scales yet.

I am, however, feeling better overall.

Ha ha, Athena, that's a great idea! There's something one can't ignore about a live voice on the end of the line. I can, however, ignore my computer all day if I want. LOL

I will admit that I, too, did nothing with my "free" Saturday. I was still feeling blah and tired and in a funk, so I basically sat in front of my computer and watched episodes of Lark Rise to Candleford (my mom got me started on it and now I'm addicted). I was beginning to think I was anemic again or something, but I'm very happy to report that I woke up today feeling like myself again. It must have been a combination of the travel, early mornings, and female problems. I will be back to exercising this week!

Colette: congrats on the pound lost. I'm pretty sure I'm losing weight, but still afraid to step on the scale.

Athena - I was with you this weekend - but with no leg lifts. I did garden a couple hours, so it looks good on the tracker.

Calorie-wise I was still good. I "declared" another pound lost. So I am at 173. This weekend I saw 172 twice, but not ready yet to call it. It's depressing then if it goes up.

Going to check in with Ella now. I bet her weekend was hectic too.

I did almost nothing exercise-wise this weekend. A few leg lifts. I did stay pretty much in my calorie range.

Maybe I need to give Julie my cell phone number so she can kick my behind through the phone! emoticon

I really have to apologize for not posting here. Right after we were given our buddy's name, this thread wasn't up yet. Afterwards, I forgot to look. I've been keeping in touch with Ella, though.

Today I've been ok with the calories. Eating lunch with Makenzie makes it easy. She eats half of my food now. And I gear my lunch toward what she can eat - hummus on pop cakes, yogurt, banana, watermelon. She even likes my olives. Not Kippered Snacks though. Lunch is usually pretty low calorie, so I have more to "spend" at dinner. Yesterday I was under, so I had a Klondike Caramel Pretzel Bar (230 calories) and still finished ok. I've had to boost my protein with Protein Whey Shake, though, as I am unsually under for Protein. I've notices I've had more energy using that.

Exercise is another matter. I've done gardening or a short 15 minute video, but I've wanted to do more. I'm supposed to be working on Shape into Summer Bootcamp, as well as 28 Day Bootcamp, but that's behind. I expect too much out of myself, and then feel guilty after I don't get it done. I am my own worst enemy.

Ella is well suited to me. ( Thank you, Julie! ) She is just as busy as me (or more). She could be "2busymom911". She has the exercise down with the Curves workout, and I have the calories down. Together, with the acountability, we WILL lose that weight.

My pants are getting loose again. I either need a belt or down a size. The belly fat is slowly disappearing. Woo Hoo for me.

I am here today...just had so much going on today that I am just now getting here. Debra had already checking in with me and I FINALLY got to check in with her around 5. I did get in 90 min of yoga, Ab ripper 100, and did walk Shorty(and I STILL havent plugged that in the map yet to know how far) but did walk fro 57min. Debra is doing WONDERFUL getting her bike in each and everyday!!!

Linda...no Shorty hasnt yet...I just weighted him yesterday....by weighing holding him then weighting myself and subtracting....according to THAT ....he still weighs 33lbs.....actually 33.4! UGH....I have already cut his food back AND we have been consistantly walking for a week now...He is just as resistant to losing weight as I am. /sigh.

Lisa...way to walk the dog!! Has he started dropping any weight yet? I need to get in the habit of walking G more but she is happier playing ball so I just never have that much.
You and Debra are doing great!

I did strength training late this afternoon. I am really learning to enjoy it much to my amazement! If you aren't doing it I would really recommend trying some of Spark's tapes because that (and a challenge that required it) got me started. The big joy for me is firming the old upper arms!!!

I will be going out of town until Tuesday early tomorrow morning and will check in if I can get internet access. If not have a great weekend and keep moving group!!

Good evening everyone. Sounds like everyone is doing a really good job with their accountablity buddies. I have checked in with Debra a couple of times today and we are doing a great job doing our exercises. I got to get out for a 4 mile walk before the rain came. I also did Chest/back and triceps from P90X today.

Whoops! While I was hibernating a few days ago I stopped checking in and then forgot about it. Becky and I have been keeping track of each other though. I have had a couple of good workout days this week and hope to get another good one in tomorrow. Unfortunately, we are leaving early Friday am to go to my MILs and while I am going to aim for at least walking while I am there I find that it always easier said than done when visiting folks.

It looks like you guys are all doing a great job! To that I say.... emoticon

Hugs,

Colette & I have already checked in with each other. She did great on her food yesterday, me ummmm.....not so much! It's always a struggle with me. I hope to do better today. I have worked out at Curves this morning for 30 minutes so that is done-Yay! I'll be practicing pipes tonight getting ready for a big performance next Wednesday for the University of Oklahoma's football department. We're invited to perform at a reception and private coach's party afterwards. Pretty exciting! Playing the pipes is definitely cardio-I work up quite a sweat!

Good afternoon all...boy am I running late today. I need to check in with Debra yet...so far behind. I have been on the go since 8:30. I did Cardio X for P90X then went out for a walk with shorty....78 min and almost 4 miles. Shorty had some difficulty today in wanting to walk...so we had some "dragging" moments and my emotions did get away from me a few times but we are good now. He is napping now beside me so all is well.

Hi all! Colette has been better at checking in with me lately than I have with her. Sorry Colette. I've been so busy. I hope to do better! I worked out at Curves this morning and will be playing the pipes tonight. I'm working on staying in my calorie range as usual. I always struggle with that. However, the day's not over yet!

athena,
i'm so glad you're recovered!! i hope you reported to them their food was poison!!
it's great you got the exercise in.

asphalt is a lot different on the paws, especially in the sun it gets extremly hot and burns them. great job on the walks.

i'm going to get my bike riding in after i spark while it's nice and cool. i gotta check in with lisa, knowing how great she is with her exercise routine i know she's already finished it..... yeah lisa !!!

Sometime around 4pm I started to feel great and was able to get in 40 minutes after work. I really just wanted to sit on the deck but I knew I needed something positive to report to Julie! emoticon

I'm completely over the food poisoning. By the time I got in from my walk, I was starving!

And good news! Jolie doesn't take short cuts to cheat. I realized last night that she has figured out that she doesn't like to walk on black top asphault (duh! I should have realized that first). Regular concrete doesn't bother her but the school parking lot is hard on her paws.

I had all the best intentions yesterday of getting some serious workout/play minutes with my nieces but I ate a piece of bad surimi. One little piece at the grocery store and totally sick for the next 6 hours. If I were bulimic I'd have been in great shape. Still can't think about breakfast. Needless to say, the rest of the surimi I did buy went into the trash.

Looking forward to a "regular" day. emoticon

Poor Julie is stuck at a conference in Salt Lake but I hear she is getting lots of mall walking!

Have a great Monday ya'll!

I played some with my nieces but didn't get a walk in yesterday. We had an office lunch out yesterday and I tried really hard to be good. I asked for vegetables instead of fries with my lunch and they came out drenched in some kind of thick butter sauce. Ewww.

Today will be a good day for a long walk and lots of housework. Maybe even a trip to the farmers market.

Hello everyone! Colette send me a nice long note today. I haven't done any workouts yet, I had an early morning CE class to attend and now I'm at work. Our bagpipe band is playing for two graduations tomorrow for a local university, so I'll be practicing tonight with DH and of course playing tomorrow. If I have time I'll try to fit in an extra workout, getting on the Wii Fit might be fun!

I love the idea of a stroller for the older dogs but I don't think I'd be able to keep Jolie in it...she still thinks she can catch a squirrel!

Hoping to get my walk in this evening after work but it's getting pretty overcast.

I did my Curves workout today and will have band practice tonight which is always a workout! I'm going next to log my food.

Becky do you have a stroller for Hadleigh? You could always go for your walk pushing her in the stroller and it would be an even better workout! We saw ladies running the marathon pushing strollers-can you imagine that?

Here's hoping that Colette is having a better day today!

lisa wrote a wonderful blog to make everyone aware of her conditions. it's helps us know a little of what she has to deal with each day. if you haven't checked it out please do. it makes me even more amazed at how she manages to do the exercising she does. she and linda (whom has lupus) both are just awesome and inspiring !!!

Hey! I lost half a pound of water over the last couple of days! Seriously though, I took my walk last night, even with the threat of rain, because of this project. Thanks Ladies and especially Julie May.

I had a day full of cleaning handprints and mopping, vacuuming. You know the routine. I am not sure how I did it when I had little people around all the time but I guess my get up and go was still around then. I did 22 minutes of Leslie Sansone power work and then the 10 minute kickboxing video today after considerable negotiation with myself. Had I not known I had to report in I am sure I would have bummed out. Thanks for the push Becky! And thanks everyone for the public accountability!

Great! Glad you liked it!

Linda checked in with me already... I'm looking at a very busy day which might not include the hill. Hadleigh is here today and GP has to go to a VA meeting and I have no idea how long he will be gone! Darn! The weather is perfect for hill walking. It is cool & cloudy!

Hugs!

Hi everyone! My little girls just left about a half hour ago (it is 7) so I guess great plans for cardio are out the window tonight. G had to have a bath when they left because everyone played outside most of the day so that zapped anything that was left in me. I am having trouble sitting so even walking is out of the questions. The good news is that I did my strength routine this morning before they came and I actually got a lot of activity in while they were here, including running sprints with the four year old.

Athena...I totally agree that any type of entertainment for a child can burn some serious calories. And I know what you mean about their bony little parts. We have one that we just learned is 14% body fat and all arms, legs and elbows and boy can she go right through you when she climbs on you. It fun but sometimes I feel like it may be hazardous duty:)

Julie...I think you have a great idea on exercising and I frequently have to do the 10 minute thing. It is better than nothing and it keeps you in the swing of things. The dentist offered tranquilizers yesterday and told me she would offer wine but they didn't have an ABC license. At least she has a sense of humor. I save how good she is for when I go back on Thursday and she actually does something.

Lisa...If you thought you were late look at me! Hope you got caught up as the day went on!

Debra...I definitely thing bathing the Westies is exercise and you definitely get double burn for two of them. I shouldn't complain because G doesn't mind taking a shower and will sometimes ask for one. All girl:)

Becky...I don't think there is much else I can give up but I am glad someone has found a key! I know the only answer for me is to exercise more and I am trying....honest! I hope your success continues!!! YOU GO GIRL!

Let's do great things on Wed. everyone!

athena,
that is so funny!! it would be nice if every movement had a calories burned count to it.
i just recently posted a link to a site that had calories burned for giving a dog a bath. my question is since i just gave both kirby and la la la a bath .... do i get to double the calories burned??!!! lol

becky,
i don't drink alcohol but i think if i look at something sweet it jumps on my body!!!
it seems some people can lose tons when they give up sugar and it doesn't do anything for others. i wish there was a way to know what works for each person so we didn't have to go through all the different experiments just to find it's not the one for us. i thought for sure the no junk food would have better results. may 31st will be a year and i've only lost 9 pounds and that was at the beginning. it gets frustrating but we can't give up trying !!

lisa,
i posted and there you were!! i've got to start checking before i hit post !!
i was early today since i was soooo late yesterday. i never know when the net's going to work right.
you are doing so great on your exercise!! i decided to get my bike riding in early today too... see you're inspiring me to get it done earlier already !!

LOL!! I know what you mean about the elbows and knees! They are like little knives!! LOL!! It's kinda like when the Westies stand on you... they seem to put all their weight focused on one foot... the one that's pressing on your leg!! LOL!!

I just wrote about my "accountability" lesson learned in the morning "Special Place to Meet" post. I'm ashamed to admit it, but it has proved to be the only possible answer to why I wasn't losing weight. (I won't bore you with it again.)

There is an actor on NCIS who has lost a lot of weight and the only thing he did to lose ... stop drinking alcohol and eating sugar! Hmmm... Interesting!

I've decided that 10 or 20 minutes is better than nothing. Before, I would beat myself up if I couldn't do a 45 or 50 min. kickboxing video, but one day last week, I was running short on time and I did the 20 min. video. I have to get to the point where I do SOMETHING every day, even if it's only the 10-min. Spark strength training or abs or something. Makes a big difference in my mental outlook.

Linda: We have something else in common - a hatred of the dentist. I get so stressed just from the cleaning that I don't go as often as I should. Good job on the walking!

HI guys! I finished my punishment at the dentist but have to go back Thursday. I have cracked a tooth. Wee! At any rate, I think being there should have counted for at least an hour of cardio because it sure does raise my pulse:) Seriously, I walked for 20 minutes afterwards and hope to crank out a little more later but am pretty tired so I may let things rest at that. Tomorrow is strength training but I need to catch up on cardio too since I have been a slug the last few days.

I hope the rest of you are knocking out those fitness minutes:)

Hey... I'm terrified of commitment too!! I never realized that until now! It's now 12 noon here in N. Calif. House is dusted and vacuumed... and I'm bushed! I promised Buddy and bath and clipping today, but I'm not sure I'm up for it! Later (maybe) I will take him for a hike in the back 40. Don't know what's gotten into me! I feel so lazy! SPRING?

Wow, Lisa, you're so good! I've been on the phone all morning trying to find substitute players for Bunco tomorrow. Here I planted all my "happy flowers" last week and now I'll probably have to cancel Bunco! At least my house is clean. LOL

P.S. Just so you all know I'm not totally slacking, it's still morning here (10:40), so I still have a whole 12 hours to do what I'm supposed to be doing!

good afternoon everyone. Hope everyone is doing well and are on track today. I have already got my exercise in for the day, now working on nutrition and water. I have "checked" in with Debra as well.

Everyone have a great Monday

Julie, this is a great idea... and I hope others will join us. My Accountability Buddy is Linda (NANALD)! She has already checked in with me... which I must say made me feel guilty that I hadn't done anything yet! (That's a good thing!) I guess that is what "Accountability" is all about!

Monday has become my 'lazy' day. I rise still at 6 but I sit around for most of the morning since I don't have Hadleigh. It's become my 'unwind' day... maybe it shouldn't be. OK! Linda has shaken me up off my butt and I'm showered and rarin' to go do something ... even if it's vacuum the house.

Hello to everyone who signed up to be a buddy with someone else on the Westie team! This is where we can meet to "check in" or talk about how much progress you're making because you have a buddy who is kicking your bootie to exercise and eat right!
