Good evening ladies...

Fri. 11/16: L: E: A: F: L: = 0Working on a deficit here today…have a crummy cold and have begged off the exercises so there goes some points for the day…will double up tomorrow. E: More OJ this morning and at lunch (boy do I need to shop) Also had 2 veg at lunch and 1 at dinner so we will count =3 for the day…A: Walked up the stairs at work twice today…54 steps up twice and down…puffing like a freight train at the top but the more I do it the better I will do =2…Puppy go brushed again this evening and I will read some before bed=5…

Did not post yesterday, why I do not know, I had it written up so here I am with two days

Wed. 11/14: L: I have done my 5 exercise today, stopping part way to blow my nose =5… E: I have had lots of OJ today…will do a green veg at dinner =2… A: I did do some slow jog in place for about 10 minutes =1
F: Sat on the floor and played with puppy dog till she was worn out…then she got brushed, nice for me not so much for her=5
Points for the day = 13

Thurs. 11/15: L: E: A: F: Have done the 5 exercise for the day, doing a few more as I go along with this and that makes me happy =5…E: Today was a yuck day breakfast was OJ with an egg, lunch was soup with red, green and yellow peppers, celery and carrot but I will count it as one, OH YEAH…more OJ…dinner was brown and I will not go into detail =2
A: Did some walking today, to the library and back to work, a little over 10 minutes but it was a slow pace…most things are slow right now =1
and for F: Watched TV with two pup dogs on me…not lap no room for two…will read this evening for a while before bed =5
Points for today =13

Thu. 11/8: L: E: A: F: Today is short and sweet…I walked 1.5 miles in about 20 minutes around town with a short stop at the library =1 Mike made a yummy stew for dinner as I had class this evening and it had peppers, onion (not too colorful!) carrots and it was even better because I didn’t have to cook and for lunch I had 2 tangerines =2 and I am off here shortly to do my 10 minute cardio so that will add another point =1…Thursday is my class day so that is something for me…I have fun with the girls I’m in class with =5 like I said it is short and sweet tonight as I have had 45 minutes at home sense I left at 8 this morning and I’m pooped…Total for the day =9

Good night all…on my way to cardio and bed

Good evening everyone...

Wed. 11/7: L: E: A: F: Did the usual 5exercises on the ball = 5…Had some blueberries in my oatmeal this morning, that was so good I am doing it again tomorrow morning..Also has corn & peppers with the chicken this evening for dinner =3…(does strawberry jam count with the PB&J at lunch? Only kidding)… I am going to do some extra fast paced exercises when I get off here for the cardio, didn’t get the walk in today at home with Sadie or at work…(short day but had some shopping to do, not counting that as fun) =1 for the fun today I think it is the down time I spent cutting out flannel but cannot count that as fun/fun so will read before bed, that I enjoy =5…just a little down today but tomorrow is my Friday this week so am looking forward to that….Day total =14

Good evening all it is election day and hope you all had a chance to get out you vote...

Tue. 11/6: L: E: A: F: Did the 5 ball exercises =5 Had a veggie omelet for breakfast with lots of veg but not enough to count for more than a point so…OK lunch I put in an orange color with Apricots and tomatoes and lettuce with dinner so we will call it =3… Walked up and down the street with Sadie…we are both tire after 20 minutes =2…I am cutting up flannel shirts for fabric to make quilts…fun for me, don’t know about anyone else =5 Day total 15

11/3-Set up & helped with our big westie fundraiser. Lifted ice chests, tables, tents, chairs and many many dogs! Carried various items around as well. We also played our pipes and led the dog costume parade! My me time was also the westie wroundup-we love spending time around the dogs. I ate a cabbage slaw, black bean salad, large spinach salad from subway with onions, tomatoes, black olives & pickles for my freggies.
11/4-Woke up extremely sore from previous day! No strength exercise, but practiced on the pipes for an hour, which is also my me time, I love the bagpipes! Had orange juice, half a large peach, chili with tomatoes, kidney & white beans, lots of onions & garlic and chicken salad with lots of onion, celery, pecans & apple in it for my freggies.
11/5-Did squats at work each time I used the restroom. Luckily we have a large restroom! Had apple, chicken salad with onion, celery, pecans & apples again today, ate an apple in the car on the way home and had unstuffed peppers for dinner with tomatoes, peppers and onions-delish! Played my practice chanter for my me time.
11/6-Did squats again today. Had a fiesta chicken sandwich from Scholtzky's for lunch, it has peppers and lettuce on it-does that count for a veggie serving-lol! Had chili for dinner with onions, garlic, beans and tomatoes. Cardio was bagpipe practice chanter practice. My me time was.... I started voice lessons! I've always wanted to take them as I don't have a very strong voice and I have a friend who's in town until Feb. that is in music theater and giving lessons, so I'm taking them!
11/7-Did squats. Had the last of the chicken salad with pecans and celery, onion & apple. Ate an apple and carrots and had blt's for dinner with beans and spinach. No cardio as I had choir practice, which is also my me time. I love singing!
11/8-Did squats, had a huge apple which should count for 2 fruit servings! snacked on baby carrots, had chili for lunch with lots of onions and tomatoes. Had band practice which also counts for my me time!

Colette: It's one point for each different exercise. 1 pt. - crunches, 1 pt. biceps curls, etc. I wanted this to be easy to keep track of, plus, everyone is at different fitness levels so it makes it a bit more fair. There is no maximum.

For the strength training (L), is it 1 point for each exercise category (crunches with twist), 1 point for each set, or 1 point for each crunch you do?

Is there a maximum?

LEAF Challenge

L = Lean: 1 point per strength exercise (lifting dumbbells or doing squats or crunches while watching the news)

E = Eat colors (fruits and veggies, not Skittles): 1 point per serving

A = Activity: 1 point per 10 minutes of cardio

F = Fun: Spend 15 minutes per day doing something for YOU (read, crochet, nap, paint your nails... just be sure to share how you have fun!): 5 pts. per day.

Becky! Hi!!! Good to see you! I've been very absent, too. You can check the chat thread to see what I've been up to this fall. In August, Amy and I took a road trip to Wyoming and South Dakota, so we got around this summer, which was fun, but left no time for Sparking.

Hi Lyn! Yes, you add up your points each evening, because people like me, who are menopausal (mental-pausal, as Debra says), can't remember what we ate for dinner last night.

As for the second question, NO. M&Ms are in the same category as Skittles (and peanut butter cups, which are my downfall). Maybe I should add another L for LEAVE the junk food alone. emoticon emoticon
