I will be getting my rescue Jack Russell (2 yr.old) tomorrow so will be joining this walking/playing challenge!!! It won't be a lab emoticon but know I am going to enjoy having another dog. It's been over a year since I lost my Honeybear. We just need to have a smaller dog with all the traveling we do.

I love hearing all your stories!

Sherry you bring up a good point for me to consider, Indy always rides in the front seat of my truck. My current truck does not have a seat belt alarm, just a light that flashes for a few minutes. Now I am looking at a new truck it will probably have an alarm.

Sorry the rain stopped you from walking too. Looks like we are getting some more snow tonight.

Sophie and I missed the walk on Tuesday due to rain, but we did 1/2 mile last night. I also took Sophie & Nash together to the PetSmart groomer to get their nails clipped. Nash thinks everyone loves him and wants to see him up close and personal, so he's always a handful when I take him. After bringing them home, I took Cocoa to get hers done. Rather than riding in the back of the SUV, she hopped over the console and sat in the front passenger seat. Every few minutes the seat belt alarm would go off due to her weight.

I love this challenge.....have been walking a lot ever since moving here to TN last Sept....unfortunately, neither of my labs could go with me...Symphony is 131/2 and has a spinal nerve disease, and Tanner is still recovering from knee surgery...but, in another week he will be ready to start exercising again, so, halleljuah, I'm going to take him out on the track. Will post again when that happens!

Indy and I took a brief wall today before his CGC class where we walked some more. He is doing better out of class than in it. But we what him to be there and distracted by other dogs.

Good for you and Sophie! We are working on Indy walking on a leash he has his moments at pulling and walking loose. Justice was a loose leash walker, he did such a good job he carried his own leash. Keep up the walking and give the neighbors ear plugs. emoticon

Starting yesterday, I have been taking fat Sophie for 1/2 mile walk around the addition. She loves the walk and is my best loose leash walker. Today when she saw the leash, she (and the other two) made a beeline for the front door. As Sophie and I headed down the driveway, Cocoa and Nash howled through the open window. I'm sure the neighbors weren't as entertained as I was - lol.

Okay spring is finally here for most of us, while others of us live in sunny FLA year round.

This is a simple challenge for all of us that own a lab. "As if owning a Lab is not challenging enough . emoticon )"

It is time to take our labs for a walks and get them some exercise and you too. Remember, to drink your water, make sure your lab drinks some before heading out, and always clean up any nature calls along the way.

Tell us here about your walk that you and your buddy did today. Non lab and dog owners can participate in this too.

Be safe, pace yourself, and have fun!
