Zumba is a combination of different types of dancing: cha cha, salsa, twist...really any type of dance in a routine form. It's fun.

I really like Ellen Barrett. Everything I have tried of her's is "yoga/pilates blend" or ballet dance derived. But always with her own style. Crunch Super Slim Down with her is great. It is a low impact core workout that always leaves me feeling better than when I started. If my back is hurting, this is the cure. For low impact, it always leaves me sweating!

I have plenty of yoga and workout DVDs and tapes on the shelf, but I never use them anymore. I'm very satisfied to do Coach Nicole's workouts on YouTube. Short, convenient and they're always there when I travel (since I never go far without my laptop). I especially like her two 15-minute abs routines and her 6-minute Butt Blaster video. Short and effective. I often play them through twice for a double workout. I just discovered her 4-video stretch routine, which I'm adding to every workout. Thanks Coach Nicole, you're the best!

I prefer to get outdoors but when I can't my favorite workout is Denise Austin's Blast Away 10 Pounds-it's from 2000, and it's two 20-minute workouts-Kickboxing & Interval Training.

I have several workouts for rainy days but this is the one I find myself going to the most-I really enjoy doing it!

Does anyone know of any good Yoga videos for beginners? I took my first Yoga class last night and I really liked it but they only offer it once a week.

I just did a 10 Minute Solutions DVD. It is the 5 Day Get Fit Mix (Amy Bento). I really liked it. I've got some sore muscles that never were sore before with my workouts.

It has five 10-min workouts that you can do all together, one at a time, or mix and match however you choose: flat belly workout, kickboxing, power yoga, lean body sculpt and fat blasting intervals. I really enjoyed it and really liked using the dumbbells. It was my first time and I'll definitely be doing it again.

I've been trying differend workout dvds from the library as well. I usually get bored or tired half way and never finish them. But today, I finally found one that i can do from the beginning to the end. It is the : David Carradine's Shaolin cardio kickboxing.
It is paced and every exercise is explained step by step.It is more cardio and streching than anything, but it does make you sweat a little, slowly.I can feel the toning though.I think it is a good one to start, if you are lazy like me.

I like Leslie Sansone, but that's about all I've tried. I've got a Pilates on order and a bunch queued up in Netflix to try. I just got some hand weights, so I'm excited to try any that include weights. I'm really wanting to try the 500 Calorie Workout by the Firm and the 30-day Shred, but not sure I can keep up with either since I'm not an advanced exerciser.

I like the idea of the 30 day shred since it's only 30 min. I think I can fit that into my schedule easier than 50-60 min of some of the other videos out there.

I just picked up a couple of Denise Austin's this past weekend, however I've only gotten as far as getting the wrappings off. . . .

I'm very interested to hear what are favorites for everyone. . . . especially someone that's still on the low end of the exercise curve with two left feet.

I've been having some fun trying different DVD's from the library. I love the different dance ones and have tried some kickboxing. I was wondering what people's favorites were?

So far my absolute fave is "Cardio Dance Fusion" by The Firm. It is a 45 minute workout consisting of 4 10 minute dance-types (Funk, Latin, Jive, Modern) and a cool down. There is also the option to do one of the three high-intensity dances (Funk, Latin, or Jive) + Modern and cool-down for a 25 minute workout. You can change the volume of the music so it's louder than the instructions as well once you know the routine. Each dance is a lot of fun! The Jive really gets your heart rate up. Every time I've done it, I'm never bored. Some of the moves had a little learning curve, but Alison, the instructor, is pretty clear and just perky enough to keep you motivated without being annoying.

What are your favorites?

"Your worst enemy cannot harm you
As much as your thoughts, unguarded.
But once mastered,
No one can help you as much."
