That's great! I just started a walk/run training program that I found on SP. I've never been a runner, but I'm enjoying it. I also have fallen in love with spinning! Lots of runners use it as cross training since it's basically no impact on your knees, ankles & hips. But it's a great cardio & leg workout. I also do the QFC & love them!

Keep up the good work on those stairs!

I did the arm isometrics in the "Quick Fire Challenge" team. Every day they send out a new email with exercises to challenge yourself to do throughout the day, designed to boost metabolism. Yes, I felt this particular one was powerful. I type during the day and this exercise made a difference. This is it: position your arm like you are going to do a curl with a weight. Make a fist with the other arm. Put the fist into the hand of the arm in the curl position. Push the fist into the hand and try to do the curl. Keep the opposing forces for at least 10 seconds. It was neat to stop the steps and throw in 10 of these on each side and/or do them while climbing the steps!

I am not a runner, and I didn't notice until I sold it, but the Gazelle I had worked wonderfully! I miss it - hard to move around, but well worth the money.

About 10 years ago I faithfully ran at least 3 miles 3-4 times a week. There was just nothing like the adrenalin and the way I always felt so good! Unfortunately, the running was too abusive on my knees and I had to stop. Now I'm in my 40's and weighing about 20 pounds more than I want to and getting back into cardio. So far nothing compares to running... until today.. I work in a medical building so a couple weeks ago I decided to take advantage of the steps and began building up from one flight to two, then to timing how many minutes on the steps, building up gradually. Yesterday I added some jumping jacks. Today I did the steps nonstop for 16 minutes, adding in jumping jacks, light isometrics and a set of bent knee kicks. I feel great! This is the closest I've come to the feeling I used to get running! I hope this will bust the plateau.. and it sure was fun!
