I'm going to check out the Zumba website and see if it is something I could do. Sounds fun and I need to change up my routine so I don't get bored.

My Zumba class was a lot of fun last night! I can't wait for next Thursday so I can go again. ha! It was a really small class, but I'm okay with that...gives us more room to move around.

Now I want to get the DVDs so I can do it at home. Guess I better check out the videos on YouTube.

Zumba is so much fun it hardly feels like exercise. My gym only had classes on weekdays but it became so popular they're adding a few classes weeknights. Our instructor even adds a little bollywood which is also fun.

I just found an instructor that has class here every Thursday. It's $50 for 8 classes or you can pay per class but it comes out to be more $$.

I'm so excited to try this out. I'm Hispanic so I've got the latin rhythm in my blood already. It should be tons of fun! My first class is tomorrow night and I'm very much looking forward to it.

if you really want to try it, i have 2 suggestions:

1. tell your gym that you need an evening or weekend class. they don't listen to instructors, they do listen to members!

2. go to www.zumba.com and search classes. many instructors hold independent classes by session.

good luck! have fun!

I've really been wanting to try Zumba! The gym I go to offers one class, but it's at a time when I'm at work. I wish I could find one in the evenings! To the people taking it, have fun! I'm jealous!

new to zumba, i'd use one of the dance categories. once you are used to the class and you come out pouring sweat, you could use kickboxing. :)

Thanks for the advice. It really helped me calm down a little. One more question, how do you track it? I searched and it didn't pop up.

Here's what I say to anyone new:
-take water and a small towel.
-don't worry about anyone knowing what you are doing. they are ALL, and i mean ALL, looking at the instructor. (and if they are not, they will be lost very quickly) I still watch the instructor when I take a class and I am one!
-don't be shocked if you feel a little awkward the first class or two. but you will get it, keep going.
-do not compare yourself to anyone else, they may have been doing this a long time! you will get there too.
-have fun fun fun! feel the music, smile, and have a blast!!!

Took my first Zumba class 12/12/08.
Started learning how to teach it in January.
Got Certified in March.
Now teach 3 classes a week.

FUN doesn't even begin to describe ZUMBA! It's so awesome and I have lost all the weight in my ticker with it! Find a class if you can. I have done the DVDs but class is better if you can find one. You can buy DVDs on ebay or zumba.com. You can search instructors or classes on www.zumba.com. Good luck!!!

I love Zumba. I think it is so much fun and very high calorie burn. I've only take a class and the studio where I go you buy 10 classes for $50. I've not tried the DVD but I think I personally would prefer a class if you can find it and afford it. Let us know what you think!

Zumba is alot of fun... I purchased the DVD's when they first came out - they are a great workout. However I just joined our rec centers Zumba class - and that is fun too... I think I like the class a little better they get you pumped up and there is someone to push you... I paid about $80 for the DVD's - you get 3 DVD's and the Zumba weights - The classes vary depending where you go... I would definitely give it a shot, it's a fun way to lose weight!!! Good Luck!

Just wondering if anyone out there has tried Zumba and if they liked it. I love to dance so I think this might be very beneficial if I get into it. Do you prefer the class to dvd? What is the cost of it?
