90 minutes with a WEIGHTED hula hoop, no less!! I wasn't there, but I heard the one woman's sides were raw and bleeding! All this for a $10 Dick's gift card! :) (Okay, I did an 11-minute wall sit for a $10 gift card!)
ASWEDANCE, I love hiking too! My friend and I were really good last summer about going every weekend - can't wait for the nice weather so we can pick that back up! If it's too muddy to hike, one of our favorite places to walk is this huge, beautiful cemetery. They even have marked routes you can follow. It's especially awesome in the spring; it's also an arboretum and there is tons of stuff in bloom. I'd recommend some cemetery walks to everyone too! :)

HAHA... this thread cracks me up! Especially the filing of the nails and the big-eyed smiley face. Too much.
I used to play volleyball in college and LOVED IT!!! I could join a volleyball "league" but it's at one of the local bars who has 3 beach volleyball courts in back. Technically I could go and not indulge in the extra curricular activities of drinking alcohol, but let's face it, I've never been good with peer pressure.
I have Wii Fit, but I tend to get too into the hola hooping and find I end up pulling something somewhere on my body. My favorites are the ski jump and the step aerobics. Honestly, I don't get on it often enough, though. I'd much rather spend my time in the gym... I did see that there are two new exercise games coming out, though. Gold's Gym has a cardio one and there's one that involves resistance bands (which is the one I would really like to get)... they haven't been released though. I have Jillian Michaels' game and I want My Fitness Coach, too... my husband was picking on me and asking if we could buy actual games for the Wii or if our entire collection was going to be workout games... haha. Too funny.
My all time favorite way to make fitness fun is hiking. My husband introduced me to Geocaching (which is like one big scavenger hunt with a handheld GPS) and many times it takes us on a pretty intense journey (especially with living in Vermont... we have some steep mountains to climb). Geocaching brings us to places we would have never known about, otherwise... and we've witnessed some beautiful parts of the U.S. There's even a Spark Team for it!!! :-) I highly recommend it: www.geocaching.com. TONS OF FUN and a workout too!

90 Minutes of Hula Hooping!!?? That's insane.
I'm having visions of two women hula hooping like it's no big deal at all, and filing their nails and chewing gum - as if to say...give me something difficult to do already!

Funny part about hula hooping is that I've NEVER been able to keep one going when using a real hula hoop. I know some people can do it for long periods. I can't imagine 90 minutes of it!! I find 10 minutes pretty long right now.
I like you're idea of joining a sports league. I enjoyed both softball and volleyball. I quit the volleyball team so I could become ski patrol and I didn't play softball my senior year since I was pregnant. Plus I couldn't hit worth a darn. My best friend hit for me and I played the field. (I could run and throw a little better than she could.) We all have our strengths. :)

If you like the idea of hula hooping on the Wii Fit, maybe look into a real hula hoop? :) We have weighted ones at my fitness center, and they are ridiculous. It's tough!! They had a contest to see who could hula hoop the longest, and the two women that tied did it for over 90 minutes!!! They would have kept going, but the trainer timing them just made them declare it a tie and knocked their hoops down :)
I'd really like to join a sports league, like volleyball or softball. I loved playing those sports when I was younger, and I think it'd be nice to get out of the house once a week and do that! Once I finish school I'd like to take a martial arts class too!

It totally works your abs and I especially feel it in my obliques. As long as I keep up with it my muscles don't ache too much, but if I take a break from it I'm feeling it all over again. I love that muscle ache though. Feels so good to know that I'm working my muscles. :D

The HoolaHooping thing on wii sounds interesting. I haven't seen that yet. So, does it work your obliques/outside abs? I could use a little work in that area :-)

The one thing I'll say about the WiiFit is that I think it's best for people maintaining or just starting out. The hoola hooping gets me going the most, but the others are more just about moving to me. I can't/don't run so the jogging on there really isn't my thing. I think it could be good though. The yoga is fun too though.

Hi Everyone! I love taking walks with my baby boys. I go dancing with my husband once a month. I also have a collection of fitness dvd's which range for about 20. I love to go hiking in the summer and swimming is so much fun. I am teaching my son which is two to play soccer and basketball. I love to be outdoors, I want to get wii Fit because it sounds so much fun, maybe for my birthday.

I also have a Wii Fit, but I don't use it that much. I break it out sometimes when I have friends over and we giggle while we play the games (the hula hoop always gets some laughs) but I don't find that I use it much for real "fitness" type activities. The weather has been awful where I am the last few days, so I'm looking forward to nicer weather so I can get back outside.
My awesome husband is going from 315 pounds to 170 in 2010. He's lost 125 pounds already! Check out his blog and follow his journey (with pictures, videos, and regular blog posts) at www.monday315.com .

It's funny to read that you have so many videos. I am such a creature of habit that I only have two videos. We recently got Wii Fit so I've been using that as well. It's a nice break from the routine of my videos. I enjoy walking and riding bike. Hopefully I can get outside and do those a little more this year. My kids seem to get bored quick when we do those. It's better for me to take them to the park and walk around the block while they play.

Man - I only have a few videos too. 200 is crazy, but at least you wouldn't get bored with the same old videos all the time.

I can't wait to get the bike back out this spring! Even though Cincinnati is ridiculously hilly, I still enjoy a good bike ride on a beautiful day!
I really need to pony up the $5 to get a city pool pass this year too - just up the street (walking/biking distance!) is a deepwater pool with lanes. I know swimming is a fabulous, and fun, cardio workout, so that's my goal for the summer - get a pool pass finally! :)
I like the outdoor activities too, PRINCESS! Anything that keeps me busy without me thinking "okay, 20 more minutes to go" is way better than trudging on a treadmill (which I'm tiring of this winter!!)

I get bored so easily when it comes to exercise so I have to keep the variety up! I love walking with my husband, riding our bikes around the city...nothing like feeling like 10 yrs old again! Swimming is always fun! I also have a large collection of fitness DVDs, over 200, so I am never bored with those! I do though prefer the outdoor activities more; you are active, but it doesn't feel like work!
I'm looking forward to beach volleyball this year!
