What shoes are everyone talking about? I checked the first post and it really does not say. Everyone just keeps saying they got their shoes!!!

My Skechers Easy Tone sandals have arrived. They are quite smart and stylish looking, but I haven't worn them yet because it has been raining. Hopefully I'll get to wear them today and report back.

Since everybody feet are different, evey shoe will feel different on you.My suggestion is to try them on and walk around the store for five minutes to see how them feel, how they work for you, and mostly how they fit your feet. Then you will know which ones are right just for you. Hope this helps. I have been selling shoes for over 8 years and I have tried on so many differents kinds. Good luck. I like the Reebok simply tone toning shoes the best but that is my opion.

Ok,now I am really confused! This Sunday's ads had 6 different toning shoes advertised: New Balance toning shoes, Skechers toning shoes (I see now they have more than 1 style?), Aspire toning shoes (never heard of them), Reebok SimplyTone toning shoes, Avia anti-motion toning shoes, and Fila sport toning shoes. Help me out here, gang - does anyone know whether one or two are better than the others? I have also heard people swear by the Avon/Curves toning shoes, but they are hard to get, and seem to be forever out of stock.
any and all advice/comments are appreciated. I need new shoes really badly, but I hesitate to spend this kind of money without knowing what I am getting into. Thanks.

I have worn Brooks brand walking shoes for several years. I absolutely rely on them. After reading your post, Docy JK, I visited my shoe store, and find they are now carrying athletic shoes in the Brooks brand. I hadn't seen them until this past week. I am excited to say I'll be buying a pair today. Thanks for alerting me to them.

I HAD BEEN WEARING THE REEBOK EASYTONES FOR ABOUT 5 MONTHS. I AM A NURSE AND SPEND MOST OF MY TIME ON MY FEET. I WORE THESE SHOES TO WORK EVERYDAY. I FOUND THEM TO BE EXTREMELY COMFORTABLE, BUT RECENTLY THE PODS ON THE BOTTOM OF THE SHOE COLLAPSED AND BECAME VERY UNCOMFORTABLE

My walking shoes are Brooks brand, also. They are my primary shoes. Although I have very high insteps and arches, I can wear the shoes from Payless during my aerobic workouts. They are comfortable and have enough cushioning so that even my neuromas are happy. After my workout, I faithfully return to my Brooks shoes. They are my workhorse. I wore the shoes which were like Sketchers to the grocery store last week. By the time I got home my legs ached, but my feet were OK. I imagine that is the point with those shoes...to make your legs work harder.

I have worn Brooks brand running shoes for the past almost 40 years! They are the only brand that supports my high insteps and arches well. I replace them about once every 6 months, and the 'old' pair becomes my gardening shoes!

You all are going to think I'm crazy, but I got a couple pair of shoes from Payless Shoe Source. My sister manages a district here in Michigan and she talked me into trying them. Although I need special orthotics, I am able to wear the style called 'Pace', which is like Sketchers and the style called 'Stride'. I did have to go up a size, but I am very happy with the fit. So far, they both are working out great and at a fraction of the cost of other shoes.

I was looking at the toning walking shoes but they were outside of my price range. LA Gear had Walk N Tone on sale at Sears and I picked up a pair. They are comfortable and I do notice a difference, nothing drastic, but they were a good first start for me. I was overdue for a new pair on good walking shoes and I am worth it. Gotta take care of yourself!

I would like to try the Reebok EasyTones, but they seem so expensive at around and above $100 US. I've never paid that much for a athletic shoe.

I've had my Reeboks for many months and like I mentioned before, I don't utilize mine as much as I would like... however, now that Sketchers are becoming more popular (along with other brands with the same clunky sole style), I just have to giggle by the look of them. If there's one thing I can say, it's that the Easy Tones look more like a sneaker and don't have a 3 inch sole on them. And from seeing the commercials, the Easy Tones seem to have come out with some nicer colors/styles. With that said, I just couldn't imagine going out wearing the Sketchers for their lack of attractiveness. I love that the Reeboks look like an everyday sneaker!!!

EAsy Spirits are good, but I don't wear them, they don't work with my orthodics towell, Have you tried Nike Air Walkers, we sell those as well and alot of my customers loves them, they are light weight and come in meduim and wide width and the cost is not too bad. Our runs aboout $89.99 or 99.99 but sometimes goes on sale for 30% off, just a couple more ideas.

I just checked online and the Avon shoes are no longer available. I tried the Skechers on at Macy's and they seemed really clunky. Does anyone know how they compare to the Reeboks or if any other shoe manufacturer has similar shoes? How about EasySpirit?

You are most welcome, please make sure they fit in length, width and they aren't tight or too lose. Also let me know what you bought and how you are doing with them. One more thing: if you are just using the shoes for walking only, get walking shoes. If you are using them for running and walking I suggest a good pair of running shoes. something like the Reebok cardio shoe or something like it. It might be a different name where you live, so ask an expert. I will be waiting to hear what you have. Cheers.

Since I wear orthodics, I buy the Reebok walkers they come in a wide fit and it is great for me. It had an insole that is removable so that you can put your inserts in and they won't fit tight. You can also try Etonics Walking shoe, they come in wide fit as well. I know because I work in the Shoe dept at SEARS Canada. Try them out, Good luck.

I can't say anything about Sketchers, aside from I think the brand itself is cheaply made and they don't last very long, but I do have the Reebok easy-tone shoes. I love them! They are a fantastic walking and every day wearing tennis shoe. I can feel my legs working a little more than normal, but not a lot. I think that's more because I have strong legs to begin with. One person had metioned that their feet hurt from the brand they had, I have never had my feet hurt after a full day of wearing the Easy-Tone shoes. I hope this helps!

Does anyone besides me have trouble finding shoes to fit? I have a wide foot (bunions) and need to insert an orthotic. Any suggestions as to where I can look? I would love to try the Sketchers, but haven't found them in wide.

i have a pair of shape-ups and i liked them. i haven't felt my legs actually get sore from using them, but that's probably because i'm a pretty good hiker and my legs are one of my strong muscles, but my feet do get sore. i feel as though i'm walking barefoot on loose sand, so they are different than my hiking shoes.

I tried the Sketcher on in the store, and while they'd be great for just walking, I wanted something for everything. I got New Balance all terrain shoes for cross training. I LOVE them! I got them at Academy Sports store for about $65.

I have been reading everyone's comments about these shoes, but I am no stranger to the concept behind the design of the shoes. I belong to Curves and for at least the last two years I have been wearing shoes from Avon designed for Curves that have the same unique curved sole as the Skecher's and Reebok's and I have paid $40 and when they are on sale $30 for them.I noticed around this past spring that Skecher's said it was coming out with a unique style of shoe and when they came on the market I couldn't help but notice the similarity. I love the shoes I get from Curves/Avon and have gone through many pairs because I walk everyday and I need a good shoe. I, myself, love them and I find that the rocking motion seems to be comfortable for my feet but some people do have to get used to the slightly different way of walking.I can feel the muscles in my legs responding to the movement and I can comfortably walk for two straight hours in them. If you are someone who can wear these shoes they are a good buy whether you pay $40 or $90.

Doremi, I have to say they did not work for me as a running shoe (nor are they designed for running or high intensity gym workouts). As Kevold mentioned, they're primarily for everyday use (errands, chores, just a shoe to wear, etc.). I would be taking the risk of breaking my neck running in them. Hope that helps narrow down your options.

Doremi, I think they are a fantastic walking shoe and everyday wearing shoe. I am not a runner so I really can't say how great they are for running. It seems like some people were saying that they aren't great for running, but if I remember right, they did help some with endurance, once they switched back to their regular running shoes.
Janey, I did have a small amount of foot pain, on the top of my foot, during the first week that I had them, but I had my shoe tied too tight. Once I loosened my shoe up a little they were right back to being very comfortable. Hope this helps!

I went out shoe shopping yesterday as I was in desperate need. I specifically looked for the Easy Tones because they sounded so great. I tried them on at the store and loved them but decided to walk around them to get used to the feel as they are so different. I am glad I did. I am sorry to say, for me, that I experienced foot pain (right foot, right side, on top) after wearing them in the store for about 10 minutes.
Has anyone else every felt this? I am still interested in these shoes.

I was wondering if you would like to be my sparkfriend here on line ....we can chat more and keep in touch easier. Marilyn

Marilyn,
I live in Northwest Arkansas. I believe they are trying them out in the United States first. The people at Lady Footlocker told me that they were having problems producing these shoes. She could not go into specifics about what problems they are having but said that they would start being available the end of July or beginning of August.

I've only just looked around enough to realize this group is based on these shoes. I kept wondering how you all were getting way with using their ad image ;)
Now that some time has gone by do you all think they were a flash in the pan or would you fork out full price for a new pair? Just curious. My only pair of tennies are about 12 years old. They still tie up so I keep using them in the garden.
Hi Sport77 ... Would you happen to live in Canada as well? The reason I asked, is I looked up Reebok on line for Canada and they don't have these "Easy Tone" shoes, I wondered if it is only in the USA? Does anyone else know about this? Thanks. Marilyn

Thank you for letting us know. Does anyone use the Sketchers Shape Ups? They are more expensive and funky looking so I was wondering if they work?

I think the Go Outside Easytone shoes are what we're all talking about. I can say for sure, they are the one's I have.

I agree with Marilyn. I went to Footlocker and they will not have them in until the end of July or beginning of August. There are 2 types, the inspire and Go Outside. The Go Outside are $10 more than the inspire so please let us know which ones you all are wearing.

Hi everybody. I joined Sparks in May, but, just found your sparkteam page and have read everyone's report on these wonderful shoes. I live in Canada, and am going to check them out at Lady Footlocker. My question is: are they called "EasyTones - Go Outside" kind? I looked on line and there are so many Easytone shoes, is this the one that everyone is speaking about..... ??? Thanks for all the comments. Looking forward to exchanging ideas in this forum. Marilyn

I got mine a month ago and am loving them. My feet and knees don't hurt nearly as much after walking in the bluffs. I don't use them for my normal workout sessions (got Nike crosstrainers for that) but I pretty much wear only those for everything else because they are so comfy. Not sure how much of the other benefits I'm getting as my muscles haven't seemed more sore after the first couple of days.

Agreed. I walked 45 minutes this afternoon in the shoes... my legs are tired, but I'm not sure if it's just because I ran last night and did the elliptical or if it's because I pushed myself a little more today... or, perhaps the shoes really do work. I have to admit, I am exhausted right now, though and tonights workout will definitely be a challenge. It's my legs night, so I'm not sure how much cardio I will get in after squats, lunges, deadlifts, etc. etc... but I can say that I won't be wearing the Reeboks to do those exercises. That would be a recipe for disaster... haha. Enjoy your workouts in your shoes all!

ASWEDANCEAWAY, I do the same thing, it really helps when you get bits in whenever you can!

It was a great walk. I walked for approx. 30 minutes/2 miles & it was a beautiful day (today will be even nicer). Unfortunately, I had my gym sneakers with me, too... I spaced and put those on by accident. Today I will be sure to wear the Reeboks. Let me just add (for those who didn't read my blog), that by breaking up my cardio throughout the day, I was able to get 73 minutes of cardio in yesterday (30 minute brisk walk on lunch, 25 minute run on the treadmill after work & 18 minutes on the elliptical when I got off the treadmill). Woo hoo!

WhiteJedi, from what I've seen the shoes can range anywhere from $90 to $120.
I brought mine to work today and intend on spending my lunch break with a nice walk around town.
Mine need to find their way to the back of my car so I have no more lunch break excuses for not walking...

What a great comparison! You brought such a vivid picture to mind...I love walking through a forest. I have to admit I haven't worn my shoes for a while. My mornings feel so rushed lately I've just been putting on the quickest shoes I can to get myself out the door. Maybe this afternoon, if I can get all my homework done, I'll take myself out for a walk. Sounds like an enjoyable Sunday afternoon.

Found some, finally. I have been wearing them for two days and am very excited. It is not that I think they will change my life or workout. But, I do have a long commute that takes a lot of my day, so I feel these will help me to make the most of the commute. Every little bit helps.
I love the bouncy feeling of the shoes. It reminds me of waling in the forest on the paths of mulch.

I like the cushiness, I have to admit. They make walking very comfortable. I am probably going to need to have something like them for walking. I wore my other sneakers and while they are walking shoes they do not feel as cushioned as these do. I did have to balance at first but it was brief, I have not felt that since I first put them on. I was reading a little more about them and I don't think you are intended to feel a huge affect on your legs, it seemed it was like an 11% difference for your legs so that is not a huge difference. I do think there is some difference just not nearly as much as I first thought there would be. I do like them, they are really comfortable.

I hadn't worn mine in quite some time. My husband and I have been on the go & I hadn't even had a chance to change out of my work clothes let alone my works shoes, but I made a point to wear them to the grocery store Thursday night. Wednesday night was my leg workout night at the gym & after sets of lunges, squats, deadlifts, etc. I could definitely feel the burning when I put my Reeboks on.
I am absolutely amazed by the fact that 6 miles didn't do anything (special shoes or not)... but, I agree, I would have thought you would have felt a higher intensity! What a shame. But, I remember the disappointment I felt when I first put them on. I expected to struggle with my balance in them and for them to be a big challenge. It wasn't the case, but I agree that they are very comfortable. I do enjoy them, but I wish they didn't make my feet look so big. Somebody mentioned the Sketchers brand a few posts back & I saw them in the mall before I ever knew Reebok made a brand & I think their colors/design are MUCH cuter (and they don't make your feet look like boats). Granted, I won't buy them... no need for two pairs of shoes.
Hubby and I will hopefully take the pup for a walk tomorrow, so I'll be sure to wear them then.
