Thank you Robin! I am going to try the oil. Have reduced carbs. Have to remember baby steps, baby steps. Easy to know, hard to handle emotionally.

Are we talking about excess loose skin? That may need a knife. But fat....? A low fat diet will almost never reduce the last bit of excess fat permanetly and without exercise but do just the opposite. Personally I would try Nutiva Virgin coconut oil for cooking and take a tablespoon a day, flax, green tea extract, Vitamin D, omega 3 and a multi vitamin. Right now I cannot exercise and just last week I lost 4 pounds (usually it is 1 or 2).

I try hard to keep a stable fasting blood sugar. I am not nor have I ever been diabetic or prediabetic. I bought a test kit to test and keep my fbs stable. I have been as high as 106 (which dr.s say is ok) but ideal is 85 and I have brought mine down to 93. I think as my fat goes so will the numbers.

All in all if you want to keep track of something, keep track of how many carbs you eat at each meal. I try to stay between 10 and 25. ADD the fat...give it 3 weeks and see if you dont notice a small difference. Baby steps...baby steps.

emoticon iam so upset with the body fat i have at 150 lbs even at 138 it is awful. I have not been measured but with the "inner tube" (lower tummy) i have it puts an " on my hips. Walking(and it's not easy ever) is all i seem to be able to do. That doesn't do much for tummy or waist. Dr. said "the knife" only way it will ever be gone. Shoulda,coulda, exercised 40 yrs ago, to late for me. emoticon

Thanks Morticia! Your comments are always so valuable. Of course I'd rather you gave me the magic wand answer (lol).

An acquaintance is a certified trainer. Ran into her this afternoon. She suggested weight training using lower reps and higher weights to help build the muscle.

Depending on one's age some medical experts and study say that having a few extra pounds is healthier and there is less mortality. The best way to lower body fat is by diet and exercise - replace fat with muscle - cardio plus strength training.

Are you concerned with your body fat? How have you tried to lower your body fat?

On Friday I had my BMI and body fat checked. Being at goal weight I thought all would be good. BMI is fine, however, I need to loose 2% body fat to get into the normal range. EEK! My cardio has been good and I eat a low fat diet. Wondering if this means that I have to drop more weight? At this age being too thin makes one's face look emaciated.
