I will be starting week 2 now as i started late: my habits: PHYSICAL HABITS TO CHANGE OR DEVELOP.
Decrease unproductive computer time.

EMOTIONAL / SPIRITUAL HABITS TO CHANGE OR DEVELOP
Private journal more - this is when i can track my attitudes and ideas the best. I find my spirtiutality is often limited my some of my emotional immaturity

1. How are you doing as you work to develop your new habit(s)? i m starting to make lists of small tasks i can do so i get up an away from my computer. it prevents me from mentally zoning out

2. What is going well? What strategies work well for you? i am trying to focus on listening to classical music to help me not want to play stupid video games or putterin on my pc.
3. What needs improvement? both What do you need help with? some of it is i just need reminders
4. Any frustrations you’d like to share? Work has been frustrating and i am catching myself responding in an immature way instead of with strength and showing leadership.
5. Any suggestions you’d like to post that may help others? no quiting. all healthy habits are hard to start at first, but once they are in your mind, it is easier to fight the temptation.

Week 2:

Physical Goal: Drink 8 glasses of water a day.

Doing good - have a 7-day streak going!

Spiritual Goal: do 10 minutes a day of spiritual reading.

Not so good.... been a busy week and most days I didn't make time for reading. Will try harder this week!

I'm trying to break a habit. I've been binging like a food addict this past month and it's starting to scare me.

1. How are you doing as you work to develop your new habit(s)?
I'm a work in progress. There are times when I feel weak but I ask the Spirit for guidance.

2. What is going well? What strategies work well for you?
Writing down "spirit' and "stay strong" on my wrist with a Sharpie works. Every time I'm tempted to binge, I look at it and breathe and relax.

3. What needs improvement? What do you need help with?
I tend to obsess over my cravings and long boring days at work don't help. Not having anything to do at night when I get home also triggers the cravings. Now I've switched most of my workouts to the evening to keep me occupied.

4. Any frustrations you’d like to share?
I hate not being in control. I hate letting food have that power over me. But I am doing something to help myself.

5. Any suggestions you’d like to post that may help others?
Stay strong and ask the spirit for help.

Nicely done, Ladies! A good start to the week!

Does tracking these 'other goals' help you? I know it does for me. I track team and personal goals in my "Other Goals" section of SP. It really helps me feel accomplished to check off something done for today. It has also helped me develop some healthy habits like consistently eating a high protein or high fiber breakfast. This was a short-term goal when I first started on SP and has become a habit! emoticon

As to trying to develop my new habit of measuring out my portions, well that's another story!

1. How are you doing as you work to develop your new habit(s)?
Between last Friday's dinner and yesterday's lunch, I was doing terribly. No portion control; lots of eating out; measuring devices unused. emoticon

2. What is going well? What strategies work well for you?
I reined it in yesterday and today; have made real dinner plans for the week; and portioned out last night's dinner and today's breakfast. I'll have lunch shortly.

3. What needs improvement? What do you need help with?
Actually using the devices; opening the box the scale is residing in!

4. Any frustrations you’d like to share?
Why can't I even start this?! Who else measures their food? What works for you?

5. Any suggestions you’d like to post that may help others?
Whatever your habit or goal, track it on SP. It's very easy, especially using the Other Goals.

Not so good the first week. But doing better so far this week.

I wasn't drinking water at all, and at least I had 6 glasses yesterday and today I drank 8.

As to my spiritual goal, I didn't do any spiritual reading yesterday, but I did read for about 20 minutes or so today.

Hopefully I can stick to my plan the rest of the week.

We started on Pentecost Sunday, and we seek the Holy Spirit’s guidance as we try to develop healthy habits during the next several weeks.
