Healthy Habits Challenge Kickoff Information
“Lord, send out your spirit, and renew the face of the earth.” (Psalm 104)
Thank you for your patience everyone! I am just now posting the details of this challenge.
(It’s been a busy holiday weekend here with my teenage daughter going to prom and that same daughter and my husband working at a local soccer tournament. Uniform laundry is being done now to have it ready for Monday morning!)
I hope everyone had a beautiful Pentecost Sunday!
I love Pentecost, as my church is named for the Holy Spirit. Our parish is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year!
Thus, today’s liturgy is one of my favorites. It often gets me thinking about how I can invoke the Holy Spirit to move me to do more good. So, what better time to invoke that same Spirit to move us all toward healthier habits? For many of us here in North America, this is just in time for summer.
Among of the goals of this challenge is change ourselves—physically, emotionally, and/or spiritually—to move us to a healthier place—just as the apostles moved to evangelize the world.
Now, our aim to not to move the entire world, but only to move a small part of it! Since it takes time to change our habits, this challenge will last at least 6 weeks.
Everyone’s suggestions are welcome! How did you develop some of your healthy habits? Share what you have learned! Feel free to post links to articles, videos, and any particularly helpful SP resources.
The healthy habits to consider are divided into three categories--physical, emotional, and spiritual. You may select ONE habit from the list or post ONE of your own.
Thus, the first task is to select ONE habit that we would like to change or develop. It could be any habit that has been affecting any part of our health. Below is a list of healthy habits to consider. (Thanks to CJBAGGINS for this part of the challenge
