Good Day lovely people,
Contacting my Senators and congress people took but minutes ..I challenge all here to do the same and help de-fund Planned parenthood. The organizations below have helped me in providing all the information needed to get my voice heard in regards to Prolife. My prayer on my walk today will be for us all to stay the course for better health for all!
God Bless you.

Upon reading this line of scripture from Jeremiah, I am reminded of the wonderful decision all of our mothers made..to give us life. I feel ignited and ready to step out and help the unborn with new attention to eating better and exersizing more so that I truly can be a picture of sensibility and good health, inside and out. Poor sweet Rachel, her child swept from her arms and killed. I see all of the precious babies in their mother's wombs as my own...we are her to love one another and I plan on staying the course. Com join me sweet prayerful people of God.
You all will be in my prayers today.
Thus says the LORD, "...Rachel is weeping for her children; She refuses to be comforted for her children, Because they are no more." emoticon

Well said.
My friends have a similar one, wherein they call to mind those who are not as fortunate as ourselves.

this is a beautiful thread of comments...such sweetness in all of the listed "thank yous" to Him. I do have one that seems to spill over our tongues easily when celebrating a meal with friends and those who may not practice a faith but are at our table:

We thank you Father for the food we are about to eat, for blessing us with friends at our table and we pray to please bless those who go without.Amen.

pretty simple, not complicated but always calls us to remember those who truly are suffering without getting too preachy.
To be Catholic means to be pro-life."

Love your comments about grace!

I loved learning about the different kinds when I was studying the faith when I became Catholic (and after!).

Actual grace always fascinates me.

I have just read this thread. The Grace that is mentioned here is of course the Grace or prayer before and after meals but there is also the praying for grace. Its rather complicated and does not form part of any Rosary. My interpretation of grace is that we pray to be filled with God's grace, ie with his peace and love. There is also the lesson of having the grace to accept situations and people - to do this with Christ in mind. I pray for the Grace of Peace and tranquility - for the grace of acceptance in all things in my life and for the ability to accept whatever is thrown at me by God, gracefully.

One interesting Grace that is still my favorite is the Wilderness Grace we use at the Boy Scouts of America National High Adventure canoe base.
For food, for raiment
For life and opportunity
For sun and rain
For water and portage trails
For friendship and fellowship
We thank Thee, oh Lord
Amen

I like those ones just fine!
I don't think there is any one way to say grace. It's all about offering our thanks to God for providing for our needs, and acknowledging that He is the source of all that is good.

My Dad wasn't Catholic but when I was young we said, "God is good, God is Great let us thank him for our Food" Amen! The grown ups prayed, "Most gracious and heavenly Father, We thank you for the food we are about to receive for the nourishment of our bodies in Jesus name we Pray Amen. I never really learned any other traditional way to say Grace.

Good answer, Cindy!

I was referring to the ABCD grace we would say when my kids were little:

"A, B, C, D - thank you God for feeding me!"

When I was growing up we also used the "For what we are about to receive, may the Lord make us truly thankful."

We usually use the "Bless us, O Lord..." as well now. It was only when they were little that we used the mini-alphabet one. We only went up to 'E', otherwise they got carried away.

Besides, here in Canada, the last letter of the alphabet is pronounced 'zed', so it wouldn't rhyme, lol!

Where did you learn this 'grace' prayer? Do you go the entire alphabet or just to E?

We just do the traditional "Bless us O Lord, for these thy gifts which we are about to receive from they bounty, AMEN. My father added, 'And may we be reminded of the needs of other." Which I have carried on to my own family.

Grace - or a blessing before a meal as some call it.

My kids' favourite when they were little:
"A, B, C, D, E...
Thank you God for feeding me!"
