We were created for fellowship with God. Prayer is nothing more than the continual fellowship we're built to experience. It's talking over the moment by moment stuff of life with our Beloved. Before you pick up the phone to call your husband or to email your best friend or to text message someone when something occurs in your day, smile to Jesus and tell Him about it, experience it with HIM first. As you watch the news, instead of shaking your head (or fists) in dismay, call out the names of those in the reports (and the reporters) to God, asking for their salvation, for their strength if they are already born again, for God's mercy and goodness to be extended to them. As you sit in traffic, pray over the people in the vehicles around you as God leads you. A prayerful life is merely a life of service, something we're all called to live out with joy.

I believe one reason people do not pray without ceasing is; because they have forgotten how or did not ever know how to begin with. A chore. Many have old views or mixed up views what religious people have told them to do. The formal bend your knee while reading scripture(necessary, but not needed with each prayer) and then address God in a manner suiting and pursuant of excellence of grandeur. Instead of speaking from their heart in a respectful manner, but as if you are speaking to your best friend, because you are. Prayer is from your heart not a performance wanting a standing ovation. Run to Him and run to His Word never ceasing. Know Him and His power through a personal intimate relationship. Reminds me of an old Willie Nelson song; He was always on my mind.
Walk through your journey with a loving open heart and as well mind. Treat others as you would like to be treated.

Pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
Are you riding a roller coaster of your emotions? Are you always miserable until the next big thing in your life turns around?
We are to use the bible as a guideline of how we should live. In Thessalonians 5:17-18 it says pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. Listen up, that means being stable, that means not allowing your circumstances to role your emotions and life. That means being thankful: when you are crying and when you are laughing, when you lose weight and when you gain weight. How do you give thanks? You give thanks by being grateful in every situation that you find yourself in. It means being grateful when someone is agreeing and disagreeing with us, when we are arguing with someone and when you are loving someone. It means striving for peace while you are sick and while we are healthy. But you say, "Oh, ya, SURE, like people ACTUALLY do that!!! and I would have to say I agree with you. People don't live this way, but don't you see THAT is the problem. And what is worse than that they don't even try to!
Thessalonians 5:17-18 Pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. In this verse it states to pray without ceasing. Friends that means never stop praying. So, first it says pray all the time and then thank God. As I read these words last night the Holy Spirit told me that this verse means pray all the time and thank God for everything that happens in my life, the good AND the bad, the pain AND the joy, because in everything that you experience this is God's will for you. Giving thanks to God does not mean that you will not experience pain while you are going through things. However, as you are dealing with your emotions through prayer, through relying on God, through abiding in God He gives us the ability to have peace, strength, and even joy as we thank HIm.
Now, for me that was tough-really, 'cause not only did God tell me that He also was telling me I had to give Him thanks for falling a few months ago, and now excepting my flabby thighs, for this too was His will for my life. Now, I know many of you might disagree, but when someone tells you something and you heard it with your own ears it is hard to dispute. Hey, it would be much easier for me to NOT have heard those words. I knew in my spirit that God wants only the best for me. But I also know that a lot of times the good experiences is just around the corner from the bad experiences. After I fell God had already shared my victory of losing the flab, and gaining the muscle. In His faithfulness He illustrated body parts toned and fit! He reminds me that this will pass and my legs will become stronger than they have ever been. He tells me that in my suffering and pain I will have gained much knowledge and strength, that although I fell He lifted me up in ALL ways. By falling I benefited through my pain and I rejoice! I do and I did, but it is a hard thing to do every day in every situation. Like when I want to wear a pair of jeans which are snug now due to my thighs and hips getting a little bigger.
Let me make one thing real clear to you. I don't believe all the crap that is in people's life is God's will, but let's be honest, a lot of the stuff that is in people's life they have caused themselves through sin or disobedience. As well as, life just happens. (don't confuse what I am saying with bad people = bad experiences- that IS NOT what I am saying) We are not here to have a perfect life. We are here for many other reasons. However, I will tell you this, you CAN have joy and peace within every situation. It all starts with prayer. If you are interested in learning how I used my pain in my knees to grow closer to God through relying on Him and have experienced joy within this situation please read my post by clicking the link below:
Although I have experienced joy within my current situation it has not been easy to do. It is only through my relationship with God that I am able to experience such joy and peace regarding such a disappointing situation. It has been done through excepting God's will, and believing that He will make the best out of this situation. (He always does every time for me through relying on Him through my pain and suffering He gives me peace and joy!)
After reading this verse, pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus, I sighed and realized I had not thanked God after I fell. I sighed not because I had not done it yet, I sighted because I knew it would be hard to thank Him for it. I told myself to open my heart and thank God. But my heart did not feel grateful. I would not even consider for a moment to lie to God although I did want to say the words, thank you. As I mentioned earlier in this post, it all starts with prayer. So, last night after reading this verse I said a prayer for myself. I said, help me to be thankful for my thighs which now have some flab on them due to falling. I will not thank you until my heart feels the emotion, so please help me to be able to say thank you and truly be grateful. I ended my study time last night in prayer and I will end this post in prayer for you.
Dear Jesus we want to thank you for all things in our lives, for the good and the bad, when we are sad and when we are glad. However, you know how hard it is for us to do that. Help us to grow closer to you through our pain and in our joy. In Jesus name I pray amen.
