Having knowledge of the word, even revelation of the word is meaningless unless we surrender to it and allow it to change our lives. We are instructed to be doers of the word, not hearers only. Right on, Shelly, for sure!
There is nothing we can do to make God love us more; there is nothing we can do to make God love us less. -- Philip Yancey
It is my goal not only to write about such things but live them out after I have written such things. God has blessed me with the ability to write and gives me revelations about His word, and sometimes gives me insights, or ways to help others through Him.
It is much easier for me to write than live such things out. However, as I pray for His help., as I seek Him, and as I try my best my God helps me with not only writing about such things, but living them out as well.
I sometimes struggle with eating the way I should. Or there are times I allow myself to get negative. Like earlier today I was looking at my thighs and I became angry that I can not do certain exercises due to hurting my knees, and having to wait for them to heal. I became inpatient waiting for God. Before I knew it I was about to cry. I told my husband how I was feeling and he told me how beautiful I was. We began to pray and I felt better after we were done.
I write to you about a lot of things, but I have to make sure I live it out. Not too long ago I was about to go to the store and buy some carmel pop corn, and a chewy granola bar. I have not eaten these things in a while, but I know I have to reach for God's strength to keep me on the correct path. I have not been eating as good as I should have. I am eating better and better all the time, but still have my days. As you read my words, as you think about the things I write about know this,I too am working this out, and trying to do all the things God wants me to do.
I keep all of you in my prayers, please continue to keep me in yours.

1 Corinthians 1:5 “… in Him in every respect you were enriched, in full power and readiness of speech and complete knowledge and illumination.”
Paul was addressing the Corinthians in a letter which he wrote,” …in Him in every respect you were enriched, in full power and readiness of speech and complete knowledge and in illumination.” I believe what he shares with the Corinthians also applies to us today.
To be in Him is to abide in Him. What are some of the ways we can abide in God? We abide in God by reading His word (the bible), we spend time getting to know Him as the result of knowing and learning the bible. Jesus is in us by and from the result of His Holy Spirit. We receive Him most abundantly when we seek Him completely. In doing so we are enriched by His Holy Spirit within us. We receive His full power and readiness of speech, complete knowledge, and illumination.
I believe that most people today do not represent His Holy Spirit because they are not seeking His manifestation within their spirit, much like many people do not try to mature the fruit of the Spirit within their lives. We have become lazy and passive Christians waiting for the rewards of fruitless efforts & achievements. We want God to answer out prayers without feeling any pain or negatively. We are at times glory hounds, and God will never share His gory.
When was the last time you felt the power of God within you and what are you willing to do to get it? Are you willing to seek Him more diligently? I tell you what, once you receive this feeling of the Holy Spirit within you, you will not want to be filled up upon anything else. Paul states,” In Him every respect you were enriched in full power & readiness of speech and of complete knowledge and illumination.”
Our society seeks power yet through the wrong vessel. We speak without thinking so much of the time, most times caring very little about what or who we talk about or how it sounds after we have spoken the words. Our society believes that the best way to receive knowledge is through years of training or through a technical school or college. Many people believe you have to be extremely intelligent to have illumination and full insight into various ideas and concepts.
I am going to be very honest with you. I will never talk bad about a good education and yes, I believe it is necessary in this world which we live in, and it can only help you in many ways and for many reasons. I also will share something else with you. I personally know that your Spirit can and will be enriched in these ways: in full power & readiness of speech and of complete knowledge and illumination through the Holy Spirit. Through God He will manifest all of this into your Spirit as you seek Him in all ways.
Do you want some of this? Are you hungry for it? Abide in God. Read the bible. Create a real relationship with God. Do the work to learn about Him. Surrender to God in your thoughts, feelings, and actions, and do God’s will. You may be thinking, man, that’s a lot of stuff to do. However, I will tell you this from my own experience, I have life which has reaped the rewards of abiding in God, and it is a life full of His blessings! God asks us to give and then he never stops blessing us as we continually seek Him. As much as we seek Him He gives back that much and more!!!
So, I ask you today to take that first step, whatever it is. It may mean looking for a new church, or it may mean start going to church. It may mean that you start reading the bible, or maybe it means buying a new bible, one that you like or understand better. Perhaps it could mean you should start praying, or start praying for a longer duration. You see, we are all on a different path. We are all in a different place with God. So it matters little what you actually do, more so than anything else, just do SOMETHING which will lead to a closer relationship with God.
