March 7th New Team Goal
Seek Me early in the morning and you shall find Me.
What are you doing with you time? I know we are all busy doing something, but as the minutes go by who are you thinking about, and what are you doing?
I believe that whatever matters the most to us we spend our time doing. We also give it priority in our lives. Where does God fit into your life? Where does God fit into your life? Are you barley squeezing Him in?
In the bible it says seek me early in the morning. Why do you think it says that? Many doctors and fitness trainers will tell you to exercise in the morning because by doing so it increases your metabolism, helping you burn more calories as the day goes on. I am not sure I agree with that, but a very good reason to exercise in the morning is because you are sure to do it.
Now, if people tell others to exercise in the morning, how much more important is it to seek God in the morning? If a doctor tells you that exercising in the morning will help your body, how much more will seeking and spending time with God in the morning help your soul, and spirit?
Really, God is delighted each time we give Him any attention. Think about how a dog never gets enough of your attention, they always want it. Now, please, don't get me wrong, I am not saying God is a dog, and maybe this is a poor example, but..... I am just saying, if a dog wants our attention all the time, and gets so excited when we give it to them, just imagine how much more so God feels when we do the same with Him.
If we seek God early in the morning, we not only are sure to do it, we start our day out in the most positive way!
HOW TO SEEK GOD IN THE MORNING?:
2. talk to God
3. listen to Christian music while you are getting ready for school/work/ while driving
4. read the bible
5. quote verses from the bible out loud
6. spend time doing whatever you want to do- just do it with God
Honestly, you can spend time with God ANYTIME and it will bless both you and God. I used to wait until the evening to read the bible, and then I thought one day, what am I waiting for? Why do it at night, when I can be filled with Him as soon as I get up? So, about 8 months ago I started reading the bible soon after I got up. I don't care when or how you spend time with God, I just want you to do it. However, in the bible it says, seek me early in the morning and you shall find me. If God tells us to do this, shouldn't we AT LEAST try to do it?
