I TOTALLY LOVED THIS POST!
Meekness was defined by Adrian Rogers as being not weakness but...
I love this description because, our Lord and savior was NO weakling...yet he was the supreme example of strength!
We know for sure that he didn't let his disciples get away with anything! More than one time the scriptures reveal that he rebuked his disciples and others, openly and without hesitation. He didn't beat around the bush.
He didn't just use any occasion to exercise this strength, but at appropriate times that called for it, he exercised that power.
I am the same way, Glitter.. and most everyone..when you feel attacked, done wrong unjustly, it's easy to 'flare up'. I believe that there is a time for self control for sure, but I also believe there is a time to exercise 'controlled strength'.
We can get our point across without being ugly or letting our good be evil spoken of...we can demonstrate that we are somebody in the Lord, and not to be a doormat simply because we are believers.
The bible says as Christians we are the head and not the tail. It says that we're of royal priesthood, we are children of a KING!
I believe that we should be careful to give God priority, not to lift ourselves up, but to demonstrate that through Christ, we do have power, howbeit 'controlled strength', but He has equipped us well to deal with life as Christians...even though we're still learning how to use the power he has provided.
