Thank you so much for sending me to this I was on the same page today but I don't know if I would have really followed through, God told me last Sunday that he wanted me to use this time of my not eating waiting for my surgery kind of like a fast, to spend it with him and just as easily as I was excited about spending it with the Lord and all that he would pour into me, I got distracted with this business that is so meaningless when it is all said and done, How dare I keep my Father waiting but God who Is rich In mercy hallelujah for mercy and grace, Forgive this filthy rag oh God! I will enter his gates with thanksgiving and enter his courts with praise right now! thanks so much for your gentle nudge.
I am nervous about moving back home with my mom.
Shelly, thank you for posting what you did. It is sooo important that we find time to spend time with God on a daily basis. I loved what you wrote. Thank you once again.

Thanks, that was really beautiful
MY NEW saying: (borrowed from Delila)
"If you want to do something, you'll find a way, if you don't, you'll find an excuse."
I totally agree. People sometimes push it aside thinking God will understand because we're in such a good situation in our lives maybe and you don't feel the urgency to pray as much but the way I think of it....he's King, and he should be treated as such. That's one of the reasons that I try to make sure I get on my knees every night. Sometimes I forget...especially if I'm ready to sleep.......WE ALL NEED TO DO BETTER AND REMEMBER.....to give God the praise.

"The beauty of the Gospel message is not that we shall not suffer, but rather that regardless of the level and intensity of our suffering, God is always there by our side, and will always give us the strength to stand and not fail. In fact I would go as far as to say that the most effective witness to the lost, is the life of a suffering Christian, that overflows with joy, peace and love, rather than bitterness and self-pity.
This was good Shelly! Thank you!
But I control my own body really well. I make my body obey me.
(I Corinthians 9:27)
This is a very good reminder Shelly and it brings to mind the scripture in Ephesians 6:11-18
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
We must always put on the armour of God each and everyday because we never know when Satan is coming to attack us to always be ready in word and prayer to stay Jesus minded and Jesus focused to get us through those times where we feel tired, and worn out its an open door for Satan to come in and get us side tracked and not stay in prayer or reading of Gods word. I say yes Lord please come in and stay with me.
This is all so true, Shelley. I struggled with my eldest son for years trying to let him see that he should let God into his life but he would always question me about my faith. He went his own way.
Well for the past year, my son has finally let Him in and I am ao pleased. he attends Church twice maybe 3 times a week, his favorite book is The Holy Bible and he has changed so much. I thank God every day for allowing my son this chance.

ARE YOU ON THE BATTLE FIELD?
Our mind, ears, and eyes are attached on a daily basis. Yet the billion nerve endings that run throughout our bodies are numbed from so many years of violence shown on TV & movies, crude music lyrics, the internet, and much more.
Internal peace is what is being taken away. One of God's greatest gifts is being stolen, the Holy
Spirit which lives inside us.
WHEN DO OUR BODIES get A REST?
Our minds are drained from stress, our bodies weak and weary at the end of a long days work. Where is God's peace as he promised in the bible? Children fighting, meals to make, bills that always seem to be at your door. Plans to make erruns to run the week-end is over before it begins.
GOD IS WAITING
The Holy Spirit within us wants to be used. He is calling to you, can you hear him over the music playing in your car? When you get home while the TV is on? In the kitchen as the phone rings? Sully after you pray before you go to bed.....but wait, aren't you just about asleep barely before your head hits the pillow. "No prayers tonight, God will understand" you think, but does he? How many nights have gone by? Or is it one of those sleepless nights, thoughts racing though your head like a freight train - anxiously waiting for a moment of rest.
GET ON THE BATTLE FIELD
In this day and age we MUST make time for God, He is knocking at your door will you let him in? That is the last person the devil wants you to think about, talk to, have on your mind, or open the door for. We must pull up our selves and fight if we have to to claim our prize. Clear your schedule, go to a quite place, empty your mind. Read the bible. Or listen to some Christian music, CD, or radio station. Watch a great motivating and spiritual preacher like Joyce Meyer on TV. Or simply have some alone time with God. This is what He has been waiting for so long. Some of you need to connect while others need to reconnect with God.
WILL YOU LET HIM IN?
He is on the christian radio station in a beautiful song, He is in the words of the advice that you friend keeps trying to make you listen to, He is the head liner on Joyce Meyer's show, on the shelves at book stores. He is in your dusty bible. He is at your door, will you let Him in?
