Sometimes it may be good to switch it up a bit! Like if you always eat the same type of food, try some new stuff but within your point range. Re-evaluate your total points too. Every 10 pounds you lose you go down a point. Maybe 30 is too many, I only get 21 but I'm not active. I do try to walk at the mall 5 times a week but on the calculation I just said I sat most of the time in case I have those weeks of laziness and I would rather be calculating under my points than over my points. I don't care what anyone says, I do better with lower points. If I eat 18 or 19 points I do much better in the weigh ins than when I do 21 AND my extra 35.

Also I would try to stay away from the empty calories, like desserts and stuff. Even if you add the points in they are the nutrition 'filling' foods. Think of feeding your body of nutrients not just food that you crave. Ya know what I mean?

Don't be frustrated Shannon, we've got your back and I know you will lose your 2 pounds next week! I can feel it!

I know this repy is a little late, but...........I have noticed that if I have too much salt, I can put on four pounds of water in one day!!!! Some weeks I will weigh in and it looks like I have gained. Then, the following week I will have a larger than usual "loss". You need to look at your average weight loss over time. For me it has been an average of one pound per week. As for healthy oils, I LOVE olive oil on popcorn!!! I put three tablespoons of popcorn in a paper lunch bag, fold the top down and pop just like I do for microwave popcorn. Then I drizzle 1 tsp. of olive oil on it with some salt. mmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I have the explanation for you. Muscle weighs more than fat. It's a known fact but you're not gaining fat but instead you're shaping your body.

Get off the scale and stick to your weight loss Program. I joined meetings and know that scale weight doesn't always show true progress but I also know that the Program is a proven one with lots of people so if I didn't want to hear my weight for awhile, they can do this. I will however see a body that will change in contour and if you are truly on Program, truly exercising you should see results. Get away from numbers because they will catch up with your progress but instead to just stick with diet and exercise that's what will make a person healthy and at idea body weight.
Advice:ignore the scale numbers altogether.

I think you should start doing that. You may be underestimating or overestimating your portions. Either way is not good. One way you are taking in too many calories and the other you may be starving your body.

One great way to use your oils is to have it with your vegetables. You actually need some fats to help absorb the vitamins and the minerals in your veggies. Especially when you increase your fiber intake oils are important.

Sometimes people need to eat their activity points especially if you are earning a lot of AP's. Sometimes it is trial and error.

Two last questions:
Do you get in your water for the day? Do you weigh and measure your foods. Most of us start off weighing and measuring and then start eyeballing portions. If you took this one week and weighed and measured everything it may help.

Shannon before you decide to quit think about this. Where will you be 6 months from now if you quit? You have done well so far. Don't give up on that. You should be proud of your accomplishments so far.

Have you taken the points quiz again? Maybe you need to lower your points.

Have you tried Filling Foods option. This change can shake up your routine.

Do you eat the same foods each day - or do you mix it up?

As for exercise, especially when strength training your body will tend to hold on to some water weight. Your weight loss will eventually catch up?

One last question. Do you eat all your points and do you get in your healthy guidelines? Let us know maybe we can help.

If you want to post what an average day or two looks like I bet you will get some good feedback here.

I try not to get on that blasted scale too often, for it too can CONTROL me!!! I, however, go by how my clothes fit more than what that scale says. So, how do your clothes feel on you!!??? DO NOT GIVE UP! Just up the exercise a bit with something new or longer!! YOU CAN DO IT!!! emoticon

Shannon, I feel your pain!!! I have be ready to quit for some time now. I exercise like crazy, and wasn't loosing. I do Weight Watchers, and the scale hasn't moved in some time. I got REAL with myself last week, and I lost 4.6!! I was amazed!! But, what I found out that I wasn't being totally honest with myself about what I ate. It wasn't the meals, it was the BLT's,(bites, licks and tastes)that were doing me in.

I have kicked my exercise up a bit. I do Zumba, water aerobics, turbo jam at the Y. At home I do my stregnth trainings and I walk EVERYDAY, and ride my bike.

SO, my advice to you, is don't give up. You have really come far in your journey. Refocus and re evaluate your program. It might work for you. It is for me.

Good luck,
Carol

I do not understand with a person being active how they gain weight. Last week walked at the mall five days. I also got on the wii and exercised 40-60 minutes for 6 days. I do not know how i can gain 1.4 pounds in a week. If it happens again this week going to get mad. I hear stories about people who do not track and they can lose 3.4 pounds in a week and I do not get it.
