Thanks for doing the investigation! I would like to keep this 'thread' for future reference.
I had read about Pu-erh tea only today. Can't say that I know anything about it. (I may have to visit "Silk Road" downtown and ask for a sample... they sell tea in bulk for residential use.)

Pu-erh teas are good with any kind of animal fats...at least that's what Qualiteas.com says. So, I guess, bring on the steaks, chicken and pork.

Want some tea with your pizza?
Ceylon, Yunnan, or Keemun might be nice.

Like strawberries? Try a Darjeeling with them!

Serving beef? Try it with Earl Grey.

Having a dessert with apples? Try a Darjeeling!
That tea should work with evilly good pecan pie, too!

Qualiteas.com says that full-bodied oolongs need stronger flavors. Try grilled foods or maybe duck with these.
Black teas, of course, are tougher and can stand up to strong tastes like meats and curries.

The consensus I've found in my online searches says that green tea is basically best with seafoods and fish. I'd say that makes sense as it's often a more delicate type of tea.

I had never considered pairing tea with certain foods, but why not? They do it with wine and beer, after all.
