Did you know that tea "got the guillotine" in France after the Revolution?

Tea was a symbol of the aristocracy, as they all drank it. For about 50 years, tea was banned. It wasn't until there was a resurgence in interest in all things English that the drink came back to popularity in France.

"For Yesterday is but a Dream,
And To-morrow is only a Vision;
But To-day well lived
Makes every Yesterday a Dream of Happiness,
And every To-morrow a Vision of Hope.
Look well therefore to this Day! "
--From Kalidasa's "Salutation of the Dawn"

Did you know that tea preparation has gone through several periods throughout history? The first method of preparing tea was to boil tea. Then there was whipped tea, which was made with tea powder. We are in the "steeped tea" age, of course.
