Personally, I would say not always. I've been amped to purge the closets and most kitchen cabinets, drawers, etc of un-wanted and un-needed stuff. I was happy and glad to donate it all.
But.... I realized the one place I've never thought of purging is the china cabinet/buffet that can't hold anymore, but is filled with memories and gifts. I'm not excited about getting rid of stuff.
I'm absolutely not pumped about the steaming and cleaning floors that I really need to do. But I'll "just do it" anyway, knowing it will be worth it.
Sometimes there are things we "need" to do, and others we "want" to do. Not always exciting for sure.
Deliver us from just going through the motions and help us heed your call. Breathe into us the restlessness and courage to do something new, something saving, and something true, that we may be agents of your love and grace and know in our bones what it means to be your people.
Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
