Plant based diet is mostly meals made at home from scratch. This gives you total control over seasoning, using unsalted organic butter (sparingly), it is still fat and flavor with garlic, onions,thyme,sage,cumin,curry,oregano, cilantro according to what flavors taste good to you.
I personally love hot spices and peppers even at 64

DONNA: So what you are doing actually lowers BP?

Did a Veggie (Eat a Rainbow) Challenge for 2-weeks on my Team. No change in BP readings.

Plant base diet works for me. no dairy or wheat all vegi, beans legumes, fruit, mostly vegis. and nuts even almond milk

YES, matter of fact, just today was reading about how too much carbs and sugar in our diet, can affect high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, fat accumulation. This was in Jorge Cruise's book THE BELLY FAT CURE. However, it is the TYPE of carbs and amt. not all. BREADS, and cereals, etc. are big problems.

no, but i am on a low carb diet.

THIS WORKS. WENT ON WEEKS CRUISE DID NOT GAIN A POUND.

my sister walks 15,000 steps a day at 63 years
old and has lost 105 pounds. she went from a size 24 to a size 10. all her health issues dropped off as the 105 pounds dropped off. took 16 months.

i gave up grain and sugary products and have lost 44 pounds at age 60. i went from a size 18 to a size 10 shorts and medium tops from a 1 or 2x. took 7 months.

use a salad plate as a dinner plate

use fruit for your sweet tooth cravings, an apple works great. helps with the chewing sensation.

fill your salad plate with half vegetables.

we are both still loosing weight until we reach our goal

Picked up a book called, "Protein Power" by M & M Eades, M.D.s
copyright 1996

Author says that the reason for HBP is inflammation. Inflammation b/c we are allergic/sensitive to carbs. By going on a VERY low carb diet, our BP would decrease.

Ever heard of such a thing?
