Sorry I cannot give any advice but please proceed until the right diagnoses of your state. You know that without a correct picture of the situation neither the cure nor the diet would be correctly prescribed. Keep up your fighting spirit and take care.

Just posting an update. I was exstatic when I was able to lower my bp meds in January. I've continued to workout almost daily 60-90 minutes each time. I've also gotten rid of a lot of processed food from my house, so my sodium levels have dropped. I'm still having problems getting my pottassium, but still trying ;)

However, in the last 2 weeks, my bp starting rising again. it was getting so bad that I started taking my full dose of bp meds :( Either the bp meds aren't working yet or something is wrong. Met with my dr last Monday and he was stumped because my bp is rising, I'm showing classical signs of a diabetic (I'm prediabetic), and in the 4 months since I last him, i have not lost any weight, but instead I am gaining. urgh! I've done bloodwork to check my thyroid and made an appointment with a dietician next week to see if she could shed some light into why I'm not losing weight. I've followed the SP meal plan goals and rarely go over my goals. But I am definately at a wall and scratching my head at what I should do next. Any ideas would be great.

Glad for the good news. I hope you'll follow strictly your doc's advice. You surely know the importance of an accurate diagnoses so do whatever necessary to find out the reason for the higher sugar levels! Wish you well!

Saw my dr this morning, and the good news, we are going to try lowering my bp meds by half see if that brings up my low bp readings which might be contributing to my lightheadedness and rapid heart rate. Will monitor it for a month and back to see him. Also, will keep a sharp eye out on my blood sugar levels, because according to him with the exercise, my levels should be normalizing and they're not. That and we are going to try to see if we can get migraines and depression under control again. Going to keep up my exercise and eating healthy.

I'm glad to be seeing my dr tomorrow because I've been feeling sluggish all day. Even getting winded coming up the stairs this morning. I'm taking the advice of all the nice people here and telling my doctor. THANKS!

I am diabetic with blood sugar well controlled by exercise and diet, BOTH are very important. Actually my blood sugar went to normal as soon as my BMI dropped to the normal range. If you are not familiar with BMI you can find a BMI calculator here:

A heart problem as you described is definitely not associated with diabetes.

Thanks so much for the feedback. I have a prescheduled appt with the doctor tomorrow, so I will definately bring this up. I was thinking that it had to do with my prediabetes but what really concerned me was the elevated heart beat. Will let you know what my dr says.

Yes, dear. I had a similar condition 4 years ago. But unlike you I panicked very much and phoned my brother. It was May 1st and my doc was resting so brother drove me to the heart hospital and I was diagnosed with heart fibrillation and arythmia. It's serious indeed so heed our teamster's advice and talk to your doctor at once. Waiting for good news from you.

Go see your doctor IMMEDIATELY. This is not normal and should be looked at right away.

Take care,
Catherine

Good morning. This morning I woke up with a high bp reading but still did my workout. After my workout, it took me almost 1 hour to get my heart rate in the normal range. Just walking from one room would raise my heart rate to rise into my workout zone and I was feeling a bit light headed and like my heart was racing. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar.
