Yes, I find there are discrepancies sometimes. Maybe the manufacturers change their formulas from time to time. I use the 'Edit foods manually' button when I want to be sure I'm tracking correctly, especially if there's a big difference.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.

You might want to post your sodium and all the grams that way you know what you are eating. Especiallly when one has to watch his or her sodium due to bp.
Hope this helps you.

I find that the "Nutrition Facts" on the back of some items are a little different from what comes up in SP nutrition info. Should I enter my own? For example, "Mission Flour Tortilla's, Soft Taco Size", shows 224mg Sodium on SP and 440mg on the package. It's a bit concerning when I am trying to stay under 2300mg

Well, you can always enter it in the Search bar, above. As for the other parts, SP has GOT to be the neatest and most helpful site available! And, it's FREE! I looked at others and they didn't seem to be as good and they wanted me to PAY to use them. We are so fortunate to have SparkPeople. None better!

Thank you again. I went to the nutrition tracker and it looks easy. So thank you ever so much. I didn't know we had all those neat groups, favorites and food grouping. SP makes it easy for us!

Thank you so much for answering me. Now I will have to try it when I need to add a new recipe. I hope that I won't have any problems. I never thought to add the foods to my favorites. So I will be starting to do that too.
Thank you again ever so much.

I use the Food Search tab to find the items I eat. If they are not there, or if the nutrition is different, then I use the Add Items Not Shown (I think) and then these can be saved to your Favorites. My problem is that I often cook from my imagination, adding a bit of this and a bit of that, so that I never know exactly WHAT is in the dish. So trying to track the nutrition is a real bear. Soups, breads, salads, etc. LOL.

You can enter your recipe on Spark Recipes and it will tell you all those things.

Oops, I meant add the ingredients to the "food grouping" section of the nutrition tracker and save them so you only have to enter the name for it to pick up all the ingredients. I said in my previous post, to put it under favorites, which is also good to use for favorite foods so that you can find them again easily without doing a search.

You can use the Spark nutrition tracker under the "my nutrition" section. It's a great tool. For recipes, meals or dishes that you fix regularly you can add the ingredients to the "my favorites" section in the tracker just once. Then give it a name and save it. After that you just go in, select that recipe, and the tracker will add all of the ingredients for you for that meal for that day. For example, I have a "Cheerios" breakfast quite often with Cheerios, skim milk, blueberries and nuts. Now that I have added this meal as one of my favorites, I only have to select it and the tracker adds all of the foods for the meal to breakfast items for that day, along with the nutrients. The tracker tracks carbs, fats, sodium etc. for you and you can also get a report that provides even more detail about the nutrients (select "show all nutrients" at the top of the report.) Good luck!

HI
Many times I am making my own food and I was wondering if there is away to record it to find out how many calories, sodium, carbohydrates, etc.
Does anyone know if there is such a thing on SP?
Thank you emoticon
