Welcome!

Like I said in another high blood pressure post, this is becoming more and more common among all ages.
They don't seem to know why. Blame it on your diet, lack of exercise etc. however, we try and try and still have this problem.

I would like to encourage everyone to ask their Dr. for a Vitamin D level in their blood. That seems to have promise according to what I have read.

PLUS, since I have been taking it for my BONES, my blood pressure has dropped to normal, without any meds, and it was pretty high, and scarry!
Anyway, a thought to ponder!

Welcome to the team JEANNE: You are doing Great, keep up the good work. If you live near a YWCA or have a local community college, you could take water aerobics classes. Water workouts are good for people with joint problems. Maybe you could ride a stationary bike or workout with Beginners Walking CD or DVD. I am sure someone else can offer alternative exercises. Good luck

Hi I'm new to the team. I do have high blood pressure and am trying to get it down before I see the doctor in April. I have been on this site since January 3 and have lost 12 lbs. I am determined to do this and know I can. I have tried many times before and never could do it I would get discouraged. But I really want to get my blood pressure down. I have a bad knee and need exercises that I can do that won't hurt it. I have a video by Richard Simmons called "Sit-Tight" you do the tape and exercises while sitting on a chair - they are good and I do that every day for 25 minutes. I need something else. I also need ways to get my blood pressure down and good things to snack on. I'm doing this for myself and my nephew and his wife are having their first baby in April, and I want to be here for that baby. I take care of my 91 year old mother who is now in a nursing home. I see her every day after work. My job right now is very stressful, but I try to not think about food while there and walk or drink plenty of water. So now you know me and about me.

Lets do this. I do need encouagement.
