I've been doing pretty well the last couple of weeks, making sure I get up to work out, eating less sugar. Determined to get a few more pounds off in the next month! Hope everyone's enjoying the weather and getting outside!

I know I have been MIA from here and thought I'd say hello! I got pretty off track with sweets for a while. I'm back on with my exercise routine and overall have been feeling good about that. I put back on some of my weight (was 2 lbs from my goal weight, now 8-9 lbs from it) and feel really disappointed in myself. It feels like it happens so fast when really I know so many extra things have gone in my body. I am determined not to let it allow me to eat to that feeling of disappointment. I brushed my teeth when my son did tonight- which means no dessert and no eating after 8pm. Getting some stuff done on the computer and then going to try to head to bed before 10:30pm. Determined not to dive off the wagon despite my recent struggles.
Sending some love and inspiration all around. WE CAN do this!!

I've been stressed and restless. And nervous eating. For the last few weeks. It's not about will, I really need to find a way to relax. I will try a daily short morning meditation. I really need to chill or I'll eat back all the lost weight.

I have gotten way off on my calorie intake. I was doing really well for a while and then I've gained a few pounds back since the end of our weight loss challenge at work. I didn't realize how out of whack my eating had gotten so quickly!

My computer died and sparking from a tablet is not ideal. I went over my range only once, did work out that much, but walked when I had the chance. Not a bad week. Zero weight loss though.

Sorry haven't been so active on here but I'm so happy that I've lost 2 lbs this week and I'm now at my lowest weight. I don't even remember when I last saw this number on the scale. Probably 5-6 years ago.
Haven't really worked out since recovering from flu but I've lost my appetite and I'm eating a lot less. This is probably what caused the weightloss. Anyways hopefuly I can keep losing.

I am doing terrible with sugar because I've had dessert every night this week. I took off one day of exercise the morning after my son decided to be up for 4 hours during the night but other than that have kept up with workouts and abs. Because of so many calories on sweets, I know I'm not feeling my best but not quite ready to get back on track. Going to try to get a little extra sleep by going to sleep a little earlier to help me with motivation!

I did ok on calories today but not on everything else. I started getting a sore throat this afternoon and drank a soda hoping the cold bubbles would make my throat feel better and maybe even calm my stomach. And instead of working out I'm huddling under blankets promising myself to feel better tomorrow. I hate cold fronts. emoticon So 100 points today, more tomorrow!

I've "healed" long life knee pain when I starting cycling a lot about 15 years ago. I'm also doing less of that. I should maybe add more to my cardio - I like the vario elliptical and work also the upper body - and do more stretching, indeed.

So, no sugar and 5 additional minutes of whatever ab exercises suits us?

Monday sounds good to me - and I really need to do more core (ab/lower back) so I'm in with adding that + no sugar.

I'm not sure about bloating and knee pain. Certainly sounds possible. I was suprised to learn my knee pain was coming from my ITB - now I do stretches to loosen it up. The doctor said it's a fairly common cause of knee pain.

A no sugar would be good for me. But maybe we could add something? 5 minutes of daily abs (additional to whatever we would have done)? Some kind of physical exercise?

I really need a clean week. I bloated SO MUCH this week - probably due to my monthly hormonal break - that I really feel bad. And also, can important bloating cause knee pain? That's the only reasonable explanation I could find to the intense pain I've been feeling at times this week. Never had them before.

Yes, I heard about that and love the idea too!! It would make things so much easier and way easier to teach kids about it too!!

I am very excited about that. I suspect it will make a big impact on yogurt, spaghetti sauce and bread. I suspect a lot of breads have more than what's needed to activate the yeast! I also like that the # of servings and calorie count are larger and bolder, and that it includes potassium count.

Does anyone know if the 90 day public comment period applies only to experts and industry folk, or if we can all go to a website somewhere to tell them how much we love the proposed label? (I think it's awesome anyways)

Have people done working planks where you do knee taps on the ground while holding yourself in plank? One of my workouts has them and just thought some other folks might want to try them. Good for the core!!

Sounds good. I have family in town Fri until Wed so I'm not sure if I'll do the challenge or not. I have been doing way better with less sugar overall so I will keep that up but also want to be part of the celebrations for my son's actual birthday (party in a couple of weeks).

The sleep challenge has been good for making me get in bed at 10, which I definitely had not been doing. It's hard because I think I would do better sleeping 11pm-6am but I can't fit in my workouts then and my husband doesn't get home early enough for me to do it at night. I have tried working out while having my toddler with me on a weekend morning and it's just more challenging because I can't focus on myself as much.

Yeah looks like that SparkJo.
Congrats KC. It's really motivating when you get compliments.
I was complimented by hubby this week which was great. Love it when he notices.
But I'm not doing so well with food. I think I'm gonna do no added sugar again from tomorrow. That really seemed to work for me.

Haven't slept great the last two nights and not sure what that's about yet. Got Thai food tonight, such a rarity for a week night. Tasty but so many calories. Boo. I'm really close to my goal weight but I know it's likely unsustainable to expect to work out 7 days a week so I'm trying to figure out how else to shake it up. I was up .4 lbs from last week. I've been doing some kind of exercise 6 or 7 days the last few weeks.
I've gotten two compliments this week about looking like I've lost weight! It's pretty cool since I feel like I've been working hard.

Hang in there, Aristcat! It might be a rough day. One of the most important things I have to continue to practice is to just get back on track and not do the all-or-nothing thing that will make me say just keep eating poorly for another day or don't bother to exercise if I only have 20 minutes. You can do it!!!

OK, I'm kind of ashamed to say I had a nasty binge laste night. It was the end of the week, start of the weekend, had a stressful week at work, I was unexpectedly alone in the evening and I'm PMS-ing like crazy. On top of that had a short night which will make it more difficult for me today to not overeat. I know this happens from time to time and in a few days I'll feel better, especially when I watch my eating, sleeping and exercising. But still I feel pretty lousy this morning when I see that big ZERO in my table.

Great point about different numbers of hours for different people. I know some people say they do best with 6 and while it works for a while, most of the stuff I have seen show people perform best between 7 and 9 hours (for healthy adults under 50). I'll find that article to send about the sleep deprivation piece.

I've been sleep deprived from quite some time and I need to sleep more, so I'm in! Still, 7 hours is what I've been sleeping usually and it's not enough. It wouldn't be a challenge and I would still be tired all the time - I'm a long sleeper.

Sleep needs are highly person dependent, so I will make it 8 hours to get my points!
