I maxed out on this age group a month ago. If I do anything, it will probably be with the 40 somethings. I may wait until summer is over to give myself a break. Right now, my weight has been stuck for the past couple of months, give or take a few pounds. Thanks to all of you for keeping me motivated and helping me achieve my lowest weight since I got married!! Best wishes to all of you emoticon

I lost 3/5lbs I was aiming for in this challenge. But I did switch to untracked maintenance midway through.
The good news is that I have not gained any weight back. The bad news is that I've been a complete slacker in the fitness department since switching to maintenance.
I'm really happy with where my weight is and how I've maintained without having to be on SP everyday so I'm proud of how I've done over the last couple months.
Congrats to all the losers and good luck to everyone continuing on their journey!

Is anyone going to start a new challenge for the next 10 weeks? I actually slid backward a few weeks this time but I'm determined to stay on track and get it back plus the next 10 pounds!

Hey Members! Sorry for not being around... I was traveling last week, then my friends visited, and I managed to log my food via my cell phone most days, but didn't get the chance to get online much (well, I did take the time to post blog entries in a hurry).Well, not that I had great new to post ;-)

I've lost three pounds this challenge. It's not much. But I need to keep pushing, keep strength training, keep moving and eat well, and accept that the last few kg may be a slower loss.

Thank you team for your support and your encouraging comment on my blog and pages these past weeks.

I'm not sure whether I should join a new reboot challenge and maybe try something new for the summer, set different goals than weight and see what happens. Still thinking...

Congrats Kim. You have done so well. Good luck on maitenance. emoticon
I'm in the same boat as you KK. I've gained .6lb again. Ending the challenge at 138lb so that's only 2.6lb lost in the 10 weeks. Oh well, something is better than nothing but I do wish I was as successful as most of this team's members. Gotta keep pushing and never give up. emoticon
Thanks everyone for all the inspiration and motivation. This challenge really kept me going and I always looked forward to weighing in at the end of the week and was never ashamed to announce it even though it was like a roller coaster ride fluctuating up and down.

Great Job Kimberly--I hope to achieve what you have accomplished someday!! As for myself, I wasn't so successful. I'm down a half pound since last week and 3 pounds total since the challenge began. But that was the weight I gained from on vacation back in April--so I really haven't lost much since the last challenge ended. I guess my body is on plateau mode for now. I keep asking myself when I'm going to be satisfied with my weight and just maintain. I accomplished my first goal of 145 which I thought I would never do. That happened thanks to this group--you have all kept me motivated!! I have received many compliments lately and am now running/walking 6 miles which I consider my accomplishments for this challenge, even though the number on the scale doesn't show it. Best of luck to everybody!!!

Congratulations on the loss, Chic, Umwaleed, KK, and Jimney!!! So glad for everyone! I recorded a loss of 1.4 lbs. yesterday. Only just getting to post today as I sit in the car on my way to Block Island, RI for a vacation. So glad I was able to record a loss just before I begin my week of vacation, seafood, and wine. Even with a cushion, I have my iPad so I will continue to track my food. I plan to eat what I want, but will try to keep the portions reasonable so as not to undermine my hard work over the last few months.

I have a plan to track and exercise, still keeping myself accountable to my spark friends during this week away. I blogged about my "Commitment" earlier this week. This will be my true maintenance test.

Since next week is the last weight-in for this challenge, I want to say thank you to everyone for the support over the last several weeks. It has been fun. If you plan to continue the challenge, I will not be participating. You have all inspired me to continue my journey with a maintenance plan. i joined the At Goal and Maintaining Team and look forward to seeing all of you on that team very soon. For some of you, we started this challenge together back in November. I have enjoyed getting to know you in this virtual way. I will continue to check in with all of you. Best wishes for much good health and continued Spark success!

Great job on the losses this week so far everybody! I lost a pound of the 1.5 pounds I gained last week, so I guess that's a positive thing. Definitely hitting that plateau, but will keep pounding away...

The scale is finally moving down again. It's odd because I've been in maintenance, without tracking and without any daily fitness activities for almost three weeks. I did walk a few times, but haven't reached 10,000 steps on my pedometer in all that time. I've been eating intuitively again, trying to avoid heavy snacking after dinner and keeping busy with late spring cleaning.
For the last three weeks I had a yucky virus to get over, then the stress of being way too close to a wildfire in Colorado. They still haven't lifted the order to pre-evac so I can unpack the van. It's been stressful.
So seeing that .25lb loss was a nice treat this morning. Maybe I can make it a half pound by Monday. :)

My NSV this week was getting to harvest some fresh veggies from my new garden! OK I haven't actually eaten them yet but I'm super excited to have healthy produce in my back yard and will be having shredded beets on my salad for dinner tomorrow. :)

My NSV for this week is that when I fall off I get much faster back on the wagon…I was invited to a five-course dinner on Saturday night – of course I blew my range. But I was back on track on Sunday and told myself not to worry about it. Aiming for progress here and not perfection. And aiming for a loss on Friday, how minimal it may be…

Have a good week everybody!

Did not get a chance to post on Friday, but I did weigh-in on Friday at 130.2. So about the same as last week and I ate a lot over the weekend before. Ate a whole bag of chips by myself last Sunday. One of my weaknesses. I only bought them because we had guests over. Usually I keep it out of the house. Back on track today after another weekend of indulging. BBQs and parties and lots of good food. Going on vacation next week so I really need to step it up this week. Still using the SP cookbook for new recipes each week and I will continue to do so. I feel like it keeps me on track. I have a slow cooker stew on right now.

Looks like there is some movement on the scale in the right direction for a few of us. So glad for those of you that lost. Keep up the good work. We can all do it. Have a great week everyone!

I'm with you Ummwaleed--1.5 pound gain emoticon The summer months are always so hard for me. Too many camping trips, festivals, parties, etc on the weekends. I end up spending my week trying to undo what I did on the weekend. I know I need to control myself better. On a positive note, I ran/walked 5.9 miles in 61.5 minutes this morning. That is the farthest I've ever done. I should be ready for that 10k in October if I keep it up. It is also my NSV for the week emoticon Have a great week!!

Moving on to a new week, I'm 3 lbs behind my SP goal to date so I'm going to work really hard this week. Running a 5K next weekend!!

Congratulations Jo!

Weigh-in day: Still 66.2kg which means no change (up or down) to last week.
I am okay with that since I didn't stay a couple of weeks within my calorie range.

For the first time in three years I went to a Bodypump class and just loved it! Of course, I can hardly walk today but it was really worth it and inspiring. I am committed now to go at least once a week.

Have a good weekend!

All right all right... Weigh in day and new low!

63.9 kg! Which is 1 kg down from last week (but I had seen 64 a month ago before my weight got stuck. so it's not a real loss, but IT'S MOVING AGAIN).

It was a good week from a workout and food point of view, despite a strong enough PMS.

The only thing I didn't manage to do is not to eat on front of the computer... It's an excuse, but *that* week, I decided to stick with the exercise and diet and reward me by screen-dinners.

But it's still in my plan.

It's been a hit and miss week for group hasn't it? I did weigh in on Friday and Monday but didn't really have anything to report. The 1.6lb+ I fluctuated is gone. But I also haven't lost any new weight in a month now. Maybe this is the lowest I can go. I did lose another 1.25 inches in the last month though which is nice. Just gonna keep swimming here and see where it takes me. ;)

Sorry I didn’t post last Friday – I weighed in though and I am down .5 kg
I stayed within my calorie range for seven consecutive days and it paid off. Really motivated me.
My NSV for today is that journaling is becoming a habit – have never journaled for so long.

Jiminy24 – I feel with you and good job for getting back on the wagon even though times are so stressful for you!

I have a problem with getting proper workouts in at the moment. Since I have been back from vacation I haven’t really pushed myself. I intend to change that tonight at the gym.

Have a good week everyone!

Sorry I didn't post my weigh-in yesterday (I do mine on Saturdays). I'm up a pound this week but not surprised. My husband and I separated a week ago and I'm doing fine emotionally but my schedule is a mess. The kids all stayed with me, I never know who I'm cooking for so I've been getting a lot of take out and junk. My calories were out of range most of the week and fat intake through the roof. So, I'm back on the wagon today with a new meal list for the coming week. Still warming up for a 5K in 2 weeks!

Great weight loss this week Amenah and Kimberly--I'm jealous!! Don't worry about the scale Sparkjo--it will start moving again when you least expect it. I can sympathize with you as I had no weight loss this week and little since this challenge began. Hopefully the plateau will break soon. I'm still happy with my overall weight loss--I never thought I would be this low, but it is frustrating when the scale doesn't move. Have a great weekend!!

Wow! Great job this week Ummwaleed! That is a big loss. Congrats! SparkJo, I remember when I plateaued for 6 weeks on the last challenge. That is when I joined Spark Coach plateau busting program. It helped me focus on what I need to do to bust the plateau. Check it out if you want.

I weighed in at 130.0 lbs. this morning, my lowest yet! Totally lost the water retention weight from last week. Stayed on track with my calories since Monday and did my workout plan everyday except Wednesday. I made three new recipes this week from SP cookbook. Loved every one of them. Spicy mini turkey mealoaves with three cheese macaroni, garlic chicken lettuce cups, and slow cooker lasagna were the recipes. The best part was that my girls loved them too. Will be keeping these in my rotation. Loved the slow cooker lasagna because I put it on went to a meeting in the afternoon and came home with dinner ready. Love that!

Don't worry everything will work out fine. You're pretty healthy even on the go. As long your feeling skinnier I wouldn't worry but agree it would be nice to see it on the scale. Hopefully you'll see a big loss one of these weeks like I did today.
I was so surprised when I stepped on the scale today. I'm down 1.8lb and Im thrilled. emoticon
Gotta stay on track tomorrow at our community bbq.
Hope everyone has a great weekend

My weight is still stuck and I'm struggling to find my rhythm these past weeks. I have my new fancy gym and I've been working out more and quite intensively, I feel it in my body and it's good. But I'm getting home late, I still haven't found a way to plan my meals for these late nights, I've been traveling quite a lot for work, which is also messing up with my meal planning. Plus I've been feeling restless, quite some "what do I want to do with my life" - basically, a company in which I wanted to work two years ago - but didn't make it - contacted me to apply for another position - which I may or may not get, I still need to go through the whole process. But basically, while I'm really excited to try again, it's too early, it's not how I planned it - I wanted to try again in one year or more, I'm finally settling down in this new country, but that would be great for my career, etc. Basically, I've haven't even started the process again, I'm torn already between the excitement of that new opportunity - even though I don't think I'm professionally ready for that yet - but I can't help thinking about what I would do. Anyways, this is not what I wanted to talk about, but I needed to explain this to explain the "restlessness" and the trouble with having a rhythm, and why my weight is probably stuck, and why I still haven't been able to get myself to sit at the kitchen table to eat, etc., etc.

Maybe venting will help.

I don't want to weigh in tomorrow. My weigh doesn't move, hasn't moved in weeks and the more I focus on that number, the more annoyed I get. I feel like this challenge - right now - has been a counter productive for me, as I have so much on my mind lately and it's just reminding me every week that I can't manage to center myself.

Arghl.

Back from my weekend away and feeling jet-lagged. I weighed in last night out of curiosity and there was no change from last week. Not bad considering I stayed with my carb loving sister, went to a big family bbq one day and a wedding the next. I even ate McDonald's in the airport on the way there and back. I tried do do a little something active each day(walking around the airport instead of sitting to wait, nature walk, beach walk and bike ride)and drink plenty of water. I definitely wasn't fully recovered from whatever "bug" I had before though. The three drinks I had at the wedding affected me much more than I expected so I had to go home early. :/
Bleh. I'm too tired to do much today but eat healthy and moderately and drink plenty of water. Looking forward to getting back into my healthy lifestyle routine ASAP!

Great attitude Kimberly--congrats on getting back into a 2 piece swimsuit!! Glad you enjoyed your vacation Templelinchen--I'm sure the weight will come back off quickly! Hang in there SparkJo--I'm sure your body is becoming a lean body machine. I'm sure the clothes fitting loosely is a better gauge than the scale at this point. My NSV this week is mental. Even though I'll be turning 40 this weekend, I'm not down about it. I realize it's just a number. The important thing is that I feel/look better than what I did in my 20's. My only regret is that I didn't focus on a healthier lifestyle until 5 years ago. I also realize my hips are always going to be much bigger than the rest of my body. But those lovely hips helped support 4 pregnancies without difficulty. I may not get back into a 2 piece swimsuit, but I'm very proud of how far I come. Bring it on, 40!!!! (You aren't going to kick me out of the group this weekend, are you?!) emoticon

I was very busy this weekend so I did not get to post, but I weighed in on Friday at 132.4. TOM this week so I am not surprised about the gain and looking forward to a significant loss next week. Glad to be maintaining below my goal. It has been 1 1/2 months now and I am slowly getting the knack of this. Allowing myself treats on the weekend and really nailing down my calories during the week.
Tried some new recipes this week that I blogged about and stayed with my program all week. Went way over my range yesterday but that was part of my plan and i enjoyed it. I went to the beach today and wore a two-piece bathing suit for the first time since before I had the girls. I finally feel good and did not feel anxious or self-conscience. It is amazing how my mental attitude has changed over these last few months. I would have hated myself in any bathing suit, and even though my body does not look like it did 6 years ago, I am healthier, have more energy, and my confidence is back. It was and is a good feeling.

Have a great week everyone.

Got back from my one week vacation in Greece and am up .7 kg. Considering that I didn't work out at all, just spend all day in a lounge chair or on the beach and eating from a wonderful buffet two times a day I still consider this a success. Usually I gain 1.5 kg during my vacation. Focusing now on actually staying below 1400 kcal per day, no exceptions. We'll see how thus week goes.
Have a good week everybody!

still no change weight wise. but i've been within my range and exercising much more intensively (in my new fancy gym)... I feel tighter, slimmer, but not change on the scale. I need to reassess what I'm doing if I want to lose some more, but maybe not targeting a pounds a week if I want to work out and strength train and build muscle... I don't know... well, next week will be another very busy week at work, three days of traveling (I'm not worrying about this anymore, it seems that I now actually lose more when traveling...), weekend away... I need to find a new rhythm with my new gym, meal planning and all.

sorry for the quick not too structured message, I've had a cold, plus allergies, plus too much sun today... not sure if I'll be able to check in Tuesday, but let's all

emoticon

it'll show... eventually....

I am amazed by the numbers on the scale today but not ready to celebrate just yet because I haven't felt well for a few days. Makes me think my immune system is being compromised by overdoing it. I need to make sure I bump my calories to offset extra exercise during the week.

Sorry for not posting an nsv this week, but I really couldn't think of one. I'm staying consistent with the 10k challenge, so I guess that's good enough. I increased my hours at work this week since the kids are off of school, and I don't have to get them up in the morning/help with homework. I've noticed that with the longer work days, I really have the munchies when I get home. I'm going to have to learn to control that better. Despite the munchies, I'm down a pound! Maybe I needed the munchies to rev up my metabolism or something;) Have a great weekend!!!

emoticon Jo. Even if the scales not showing it, you are making progress.
I wish I could say the same for myself but this week I can't seem to come up with an Nsv. I had a bad weekend in terms of food but I'm trying a lot harder to stay within my calorie range now. I've been doing good these past couple of days and will try hard to keep it up. I don't expect to see any weight loss this week unless the scale surprises me.

It's Tuesday! NSV!

So, my weight has been stuck between 64 and 65 for a month. I had my period, was bloated, but still, it should be moving. I've eaten well, I've worked out, I felt good.

This morning, I tried my skinny jeans. They are TOO BIG! They don't fall out, but if I wanted to wear them outside (yes, I don't wear my skinny jeans, I'm afraid to stretch them) I'd need a belt.

I've increased my workouts and protein intake (if often each muesli in the morning, I'm adding a scoop of vanilla protein powder, for instance).

That's it!

Chicvintage : I wouldn't worry too much, sometimes the math adds up perfectly and we lose as we eat and burn, and sometimes our bodies just act up and mess up with our minds - and I know about this... If you keep up with your 1500 Cal/40 min, it will move down eventually. Take care of yourself!

Got you beat Umwaleed, showing a 1.6lb gain this week. I never fluctuate up so I don't know what's going on.
It defies all logic and my doesn't reflect my efforts at all. I averaged 40 minutes of exercise everyday over the past 2 weeks plus totaling 10K+ steps daily on my FitBit. I averaged 1500 consumed calories daily over the last 2 weeks. I should be down about 2lbs but I'm not.
The only thing I can think of is that I'm not feeling myself. A little bit nauseous, painfully gassy and had a sweaty hot/freezing cold night of sleep two nights ago. It's possible I have a little virus of some kind.
At this point I just want to be 100% well when I get on that airplane on Friday. Weight isn't really important as of this moment. I actually really like my weight where it is but what's worrying me is that if 1500 calories and 40 minutes of exercise daily is what I need to do to maintain this weight(and the lack of loss has nothing to do with sickness)I'm going to have to seriously reconsider my goal weight. According to all the data I've read and calculators I've used and two nutrition classes I've taken, I should still be losing. My maintenance calorie range should be around 1500 if I never move my butt off the couch. I'm regularly active anyway burning 300 or so calories just on daily housework and chasing after the kids. Then I exercise on top of that.
Even so, I'm going to do my best this week at the "finish line" and hope for the best. :)

Sweat is just fat crying!

Seems to be a thing this week but I have zero movement on the scale. Not being discouraged though because my clothes are still fitting better. In about a week it will be time to do the waist measurements and check lost inches.

Way to go Kimberly--awesome weight loss! Jo, I'm in the same boat as you--nothing. I really thought TOM this past week would have helped, but it didn't. I guess my body is putting on the brakes for weight loss. I'm okay with it(for now). I've been getting a lot of compliments lately and feeling better about myself. I will definitely keep at it, and hopefully the scale will start moving again. Hang in there Umalweed--I had your kind of week not to long ago. Good luck with you weddings(one is bad enough)! My scale is showing a 1LB gain. emoticon
My weight keeps fluctuating back up and down the same couple of pounds. This is so frustrating but I must admit my calories are over 5 out of seven days. I really need to get a grip on my eating. The problem is I love food. To makes things worse, this weekend were invited to 3 different weddings Fri-Sun. Hope I stay on track.

Hoping you previous weight loss pattern stays true, Jo and that you see a nice big drop when it does move down. You're probably building lots of new muscle too. l know I'd take more muscle definition over a little loss any day. ;)
WTG Kimberley! That's a stellar loss! I'm super jealous about the beach and boardwalk. I'm a transplanted South Jersey Girl and I really really miss the beach! I'll actually be on the beach next weekend though and I'm pretty happy about it, even if I have to spend an entire day both ways in airports and on airplanes which I hate. :/ Hope you have lots of fun!
Unofficially down nothing since Monday. It doesn't make sense since I've created an average calorie deficit/burn of 550 every day for 10 days. I have been eating a lot more fiber this week and we all know how that can stay in your system for a while sometimes. I know I could not have gained any fat but the scale has me up .2lbs. I've been awesome with my food choices, drinking my water and getting over 10K steps daily as well as tricep resistance band strength training so all in all I'm pleased with my efforts this week even if the scale isn't showing it yet.
There's always the Monday weigh-in to look forward to. :) 9 days until the wedding!

Jo, knowing your body is the best aspect about this journey. You will do it and it sounds like you are gaining muscle. That is great! The scale will surely drop again. . .

I am down 2.2 lbs!!!!! My strict tracking and workout regimen seems to have paid off, but more importantly, I have been really watching my food choices on the weekend and allowing myself small treats. My weight is finally almost where I want it to be and that means so much to me. I started this journey having never lost a significant amount of weight before and I am proud of myself for getting healthy and taking the steps to making it a lifestyle change for me and my family. I am so excited and happy!!!

Made a new recipe from the SP cookbook last night and my girls loved it. Lemon chicken with spinach rice, it was delicious. Hope everyone has a great weekend. It is Memorial Day weekend, the unofficial start of summer here. Was hoping to hit the beach and boardwalk with the girls tomorrow, but not sure the weather will cooperate. May just settle for lunch at the shore. Sounds good to me!!!

Friday.

No change in my weight. None.

It seems that it's the same seems every month. I get my period, I retain 2-3 lbs within a couple of day (without changing my diet, except lowering my sodium intake), stay stuck at the same weight for two weeks of more and my weight drop all of a sudden.

Let's hope it's going to be the same this time ;)

I started going to my new gym this week, I've been quite good with exercising and I feel my body has changed in the last few weeks, but it doesn't show on the scale.

Next challenge (as I was saying on my blog) NO EATING OUTSIDE OF THE KITCHEN.

Hope you all had great weeks!

My NSV this week is being able to fit into my capris for work! Last year they were so tight I put them up on a shelf and just got them out this week. I have 3 pairs that fit and 2 that still don't, so looking forward to getting to wear them all!

My NSV for this week has been to not binge on junk food and chips and completely sucuum to depression eating. My parents left on Monday morning after a 4 week visit. It'sl onely around here. And I'm bored going back to my regular routine and stressed from having 100% daytime responsibility for three kids again. My parents helped with my toddler a ton while they were here. I made a huge pan of fudge as a treat for my dad's last meal here(he adores the stuff)and there's still half a pan left in the pantry. I've been having two little squares a day at teatime but I want to just sit down with the entire pan and a spoon. I have a full bag of salt and vinegar chips in the pantry too that has been calling my name since Monday morning. Had two of DH's chips while he snacked last night but didn't open mine. I want to, oh I sure want to. The alcohol too is calling me. I actually had to close my eyes and remind myself of my goals when I opened the fridge to get dinner out last night. I wanted a beer so bad!
It's weird for me because I've never really been an emotional eater but the desire has developed over the last year as I moved away from my home state and all my relatives and groups. I started having 5-7 drinks a week instead of my usual 2-3. I started keeping chips in the house where I used to only buy them for special meals or events. I may only have 1 ounce of chips with a 12 ounce beer but it's apparently too much for me at my calories range and I gained 9lbs over the year instead of my usual gain 5 lose 5 routine. *sigh*
I feel like I'm really starting to understand the struggle of emotional eaters. My mom is one and it always baffled me until this year. It's so strange to think of the ways your support group supports you in ways you aren't even conscious of until the support group isn't so much there as before.
So, anyway, it's been hard everyday but I'm really proud of myself this week for continuing to say no and distracting myself with water, exercise or another task instead of grabbing the goodies.

Sweat is just fat crying!
